This large room has a full bed, a desk, a comfortable chair and a vintage armoire to store your stuff. It is in a charming 1930 family home, there is one other airbnb rental on the first floor. In between the two bedrooms is a lovely bathroom. The family lives in upstairs bedrooms, so our guests have the downstairs hall to themselves.
You are welcome to use the kitchen, comfortable back patio, or living room if you want to hang out.
We are a friendly local couple, and are happy to suggest local destinations. We are interested in sustainability, and if you want, breakfast can include fresh eggs from out 3 backyard hens, or you are welcome to have an apple from the urban orchard in the yard. We recycle and compost.
The home is close to the California Avenue shopping district, which has a CalTrain station, a grocery, and many restaurants. We are a short walk to a two screen movie theatre at Palo Alto Square. We have a free shuttle services close to our house, the Margarite, run by Stanford University, and are close to the Santa Clara county 22 bus line that runs all the way down to San Jose. We are 5 minutes from Stanford University, or down town Palo Alto by car.

Quiet hours are between 11 pm and 7 am. Ask if you need a bike while you are here, we are in a bike friendly neighborhood, and will try and have one available for you. Please recycle and compost. Guests are fine, but not more than 4-5 days out of the month, so long as quiet hours are observed. Please let us know of any food preferences, we would like to make sure you have something you like in the house to eat. Please put the fan on for 1/2 hour after using the shower. No smoking at all inside the house. We are happy to pick up at the local transit center, depending on arrival schedules.
Fantastic experience. Kirsten was so hospitable, and offered to pick me up at the local Caltrain station as I was coming in from a late flight.
The room was exactly as described, everything was clean and comfortable. Bathroom was clean and amenities were provided.
I would absolutely recommend Kirsten's Airbnb.
Kristen is very nice and the room is very clean. I felt very comfortable to stay there.
Kirsten was great! A friend and I just needed one night - we arrived late and left early - but Kirsten was accommodating and friendly. Cozy bed. Cute, eclectic home. Worth a visit. :)
Loved the beautiful back yard and Tudor style house. Kirsten was accommodating and friendly, but didn't breathe down our necks, even though she was on site. Great location - walking distance to Sunday Farmer's Market. Would recommend this place.
I stayed at Kirsten place for 10 days and the experience was very good. The room was very nice and quiet and Kirsten and her family are very friendly and helpful. I didn't spend much time at home but it was very enjoyable.
I have not read this guest review page since my visit last year. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw how many positively reviews Kirsten and her family received. I have to say he reviews truly reflect my experience.
This is my second stay at Kirsten's and Frank's house. My stay this time was just as memorable as last time. Kirsten and her family (immediate and extended) were incredibly nice and warm. This has truly become a home away from home.
Good luck to the gifted and talented (young) Mr. Flynn, I wish you find a school that will help pursue your passion!
Kirsten and her family immediately made me feel comfortable and right at home. They were so friendly (while being respectful of privacy), interesting to chat with, and helpful with ideas on what to see and do. The bedroom and bathroom were just as described, and the bed very comfortable. The neighbourhood is very safe and bike-friendly, and great public transport plus the provided bike made it very easy to go anywhere.

I am a life long Californian, a mom, and a designer. I love gardening, my family and my work. I am a passionate environmentalist, and I am afraid you will HAVE to recycle while you stay with us. Two of the things I love about N. California are it's natural beauty, and it's cultural diversity.
I think life should be fun, and that people should be kind to each other.
I am an interior designer, and run my business out of my home. My husband, Frank is in high tech, big data, if that means anything to you. He is a great resource if you are interested in the local Silicon Valley scene. We have 3 kids, 2 of which are at college most of the time.
We rent their rooms out while they are gone, and really enjoy our guests. We love sharing our beautiful area, and hope that staying with our family gives our guests a feeling of being at home in Silicon Valley. This is a family home, and while we try to keep it perfect, sometimes we might be socializing, sewing, or cooking during your stay. Please let us know if there is anything that bothers you, or if we can do anything to improve your stay while you are here. We value our 5 star reviews, and want to make sure you are happy in our home.
