Podere (farm) is an absolutely unique place which lies just on top of the hill facing the Rocca d’Orcia tower and holds a breathtaking view of the vast and poetic senese landscape. An old farm, recently restored so that the neatness of modern architecture blends with the antique in a very powerful final result, the Podere mantains intact all the fascination of a typical Tuscan stone building.
With it’s five different units, transformed in elegant apartments refurbished with antique family furniture, the place has the looks of a small country village. The house is in the middle of a 62 acres farm, which produces bio olive oil with xperimental methods and is surronunded by 25 acres of olive trees fields and a 37 acres woodland. A very fascinating place, it’s the ideal choice to spend quiet holidays, with a strong Nature all around, which makes this hidden spot of Tuscany an authentic paradise.
The Podere is part of the Artistic Natural and Cultural Park of the Orcia Valley ((website hidden)), recognized by UNESCO as World Heritage. A unique landscape, with the soft slopes of its hills and the harshness of its crevices and crests of clay, this territory has been a deep source of inspiration for painters and artists throughout Renaissance.
Rich in pathways and naturalistic routes which permit a large variety of excursions (horseriding, hiking and biking), the Orcia Valley is the perfect place to admire typical Mediterranean flora and fauna ((website hidden)).
At dawn and dusk it’s not rare to spot herds of deers lazily grazing in the fields, solitary foxes, porcupines, pheasants, plus various bird species from the cuckoo to the hunting hawk and the night owl.
Refreshing walks along country roads which skirt through vinyards, fields, woods and rivers are just out of the door. At Podere Perelli You’ll find all the information You may need to explore the area: books, maps, suggestions.
Myself and my partner spent 3 nights in the pienza apartment and had a wonderful time. The photos on air b&b really don't do the property justice as the apartments and views are spectacular! The pienza apartment is impeccably detailed and offers privacy and comfort in a stunning setting.
Angela, Olimpia's sister, manages the property and is engaging and friendly and happy to provide recommendations on places to visit and eat.
The surrounding hill top villages provide fantastic day trips.
I definitely recommend staying at the agriturisimo val d'orcia!!
If you want to relax and enjoy a true setback in time, this the place. Wonderful breakfast, beautiful views, spacious rooms and a lovely and very helpful host. All the tips were accurate and Angela made our experience very special.
This space is even more beautiful in real life!
Peaceful, quiet and relaxing. Great location.
The full kitchen was great.
Even a crib was provided for our little one.
My husband and I stayed at the Agriturosmo (Pienza Apartment) for the first 3 days of our honeymoon. Everything was more perfect than we could have imagined, and Angela was such a sweet and gracious host. Our apartment was just as pictured and very clean. We even had a patio with a beautiful view of the Castiglione d'Orcia. The location of the Agriturismo is wonderful too, for those who want to visit the Tuscan hill towns. We were a short drive from Montalcino, Montepulciano and Cortona. We loved our stay so much, we are already planning a trip back to Tuscany. When we do come back, we will be sure to stay here again. Highly recommended for anyone who wants a beautiful and relaxing place to stay in beautiful Tuscany!
This is a place I truly recommend!
We were 3 adults and 2 children staying for 5 nights. A beautiful and very well equipped apartment with a nice outdoor terrace. Angela, the hostess took very well care of us. She is so discrete and pays attention to details.
The view is breathtaking and it is very close into to the center where there are several good restaurants. Especially Restaurant Perilla Osteria. Fantastic. A must try!!
The apartment has air-condition, except for the third bedroom which should have as well. Not so well equipped, but if we missed anything Angela helped us out with what we needed. The fridge is quite small if you have own groceries.
The swimmingpool is beautiful and enough sun lounges for everyone. We were missing umbrellas. The children found it a bit hot during the day.
You have to have a car to get to this place, but it is not difficult to find on the map.
The breakfast is very simple but nice. But we brought our own stuff as well such as ham and cheese for breakfast. Lovely room to have breakfast in.
We definitely want to come back to this place!
Siri and family .
We were two families (total 8) that stayed at Olimpia's utterly charming place. Angela - her sister - who runs the place was a wonderful host. When we arrived late in the night she took the trouble to book a dinner for us and meet us close to the town center and take us there. The next morning when one of our kids fell sick she personally drove us to the pharmacy to pick up some meds.
The place is a bit hard to locate on (website hidden) maps but you can get close with the GPS coords she provides once you book the place - but when we had trouble finding it, Angela actually drove down and escorted us.
This place is located in the heart of tuscany with many wonderful termes around. Angela recommended Bagno San Fillipo which turned out to be an excellent one.
Highly recommend this place.
Breathtaking views and painstakingly renovated rooms that are exquisitely decorated with antiques. Would certainly recommend and will be back!
An incredible Tuscan oasis. The place was even more stunning than the pictures make it out to be. The property has been fully renovated, so each apartment is cozy and peaceful. And since it sits high a top the hillside, you get the most breathtaking view of rolling green hills, with a medieval fortress in the distance to go with it. Although it is not listed in the amenities, breakfast is included, and for us consisted of some nice baked torte or muffins, home-made jams with break, jam-filled croissants, local cheeses, or just cereal with cold milk. The best part was probably the hostess who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and help us get the most out of our stay. She recommended two incredible restaurants, one of which she accompanied us to in her car so that we wouldn't get lost, and told us about hot springs baths nearby, plus all the nice details she gave of the countryside and local culture. The perfect place to discover the real Toscano.
Amazing place, great host. Very easy and straightforward. Definitely rexxomended!
Stunning view over the Val d'Orcia, probably the best you can have in this area! The location was also perfect with a 20 mn drive from most of the beautiful villages of the area.
The owner is really nice and will advise you on what to do in the Val d'Orcia.
