I live in an amazing part of Brooklyn. It's changed drastically over the past 6 years. It is art driven, there are great restaurants nearby, and it's safe. You'll love your stay, and I am more than happy to help you find your way around.
This is a huge room in a two story comfortable apartment in East Williamsburg/bushwick. Half a block from the Morgan L train. This is a flexible sublet. If you are on vacation or need a transitional place to stay, this is perfect. Here are some features of the room.
Tempur Pedic Queen Size bed.
Flat screen Tv mounted with Netflix/dvd player
Heater and AC for room on thermostat to keep perfectly comfortable.
Two story apartment.
First floor has heated tile floors for the living room, kitchen, bathroom.
Huge kitchen with anything needed to cook (Vegan house, must use own pots and pans for non vegan cooking.)
Shower separate from toilet room
You have a private room but the apartment is a share with two other respectable roommates in their late 20's and early 30's in the best neighborhood.
As of right now the bedroom does not have a window, it is very comfortable and can get natural light from the hallway, but I understand this could be an issue for some guests.
We also have a french bulldog named poochie. He wants to be friends with everyone.
Momo Sushi Shack
Bushwick Living Room
Swallow Cafe (The best coffee)
Heat and AC
The train is unbelievably close Half a block away from the apartment.
No smoking in apartment. Smoking in our courtyard is fine.
Vegan house, so must cook in own pots or pans if making non vegan dishes.
Other than that we are very laid back. We enjoy hanging out in the neighborhood and can let you know places to spend time. It's an amazing neighborhood.
My mom stayed at Kris' apartment and it was exactly as advertised. He was very easy to work with and the flexible check-in was very helpful.
Overall I would NOT stay here again, even at half the price.
I will start with the positives. Kris was a helpful host on arrival, he greeted us, showed us the apartment, and gave us the keys. We needed to get into Manhattan pretty quickly, so Kris said he would text the wifi code to me when we left for Manhattan. He didn't send it to me, but when I texted him a reminder when we got back he responded in about 30 minutes with the info we needed.
The area itself is scruffy, but I never felt unsafe and getting on the L train into Manhattan was a breeze. I parked a car overnight, and although it was difficult finding a spot, it worked out well.
The room itself was large, but dirty. There was dust everywhere, clothes on the floor, and the mattress was wet when we arrived for some reason. There was garbage on the floor as well, and the sewing desk had unorganized piles of stickers that I think were for his band. Compared to the picture shown in this ad, there is more music equipment stack in the corner and two dressers full of clothes that were popping out of the drawers.
The bathroom left much to be desired as well. It was full of grime and it looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in a month. The same goes for the shower, which ran out of hot water, and was just as disgusting as the bathroom. I did not realize that there would be couch-surfers as well, which made the bathroom situation even more frustrating. Make sure you bring towels and other essentials, they are not provided.
The walls are super-thin, and you can hear everything, so with so many people moving around this apartment at once it was difficult to try and sleep early. If we hadn't gone down and shut off the music that was playing (to my surprise no one was sitting downstairs listening to it) we were about to put in ear plugs or try and find a hotel room.
Staying at Kris's was a great experience. He was called into work when I arrived, but left an extremely detailed message of how to get in. His roommates were very friendly and helpful. The room itself was very clean and comfortable; I cant say I had a single complant. Thanks Kris for a great stay!
We had a solid experience all around staying at Kris' place: he wasn't around to greet us, but getting let in was no problem, and the room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Would stay with Kris again, no problem.
Kris replied within the hour to a same-day booking. The place was just what I needed as a transition between flats. It is located right off the L line, with plenty of great coffee shops and restaurants nearby. The bed is most comfortable and since there are no windows, it is very quite.
A nice and relaxed place to stay in my favorite New York neighbourhood with a friendly and helpful host. I would come back anytime!
My stay at Kris' place was awesome! He was really nice and hospitable :) His place was near the subway and takes about 20-30minutes to times sqaure! Love his dog :)
