We found David's Cozy Home as a relatively last minute search for a place to meet up with sons traveling in from Flagstaff, AZ and Kansas City, MO for a concert by one of their favorite musicians. When realizing it fell on Soulard Mardi Gras weekend, we were very concerned we would not find a place. We had used Airbnb for a previous visit to Indianapolis and decided to give this a try. What a find David and his wonderful home was!!!
From the ease of adding an extra night so we wouldn't have to make an extra trip from/to Springfield, IL to the flexibility of hanging around later for our families' brief time to visit, David could not have been more accomodating.
I had read all the great reviews mentioning his extra touches such as fresh baked cookies, fruit, juices, cereals, munchies, etc, which were all as promised. The living space was VERY comfortable (I had two great naps on the couch in the back room!!) The two bathrooms were equipped with all the travel sized personal hygience items one might have forgot to pack, and we all were pleased with the bedroom space.
We love attending events at the Pageant, and the location could not be better! Delmar Loop has many great shops, and restaurants, and one of our favorites, Pi, was a meetup with a great friend and her family. We did have to drive a bit for some of the other places we visited during our stay, but being fairly frequent flyers to St. Louis, we had no problems. The metro link closeby would be a great alternative to driving to Cardinals games, so we would certainly opt for this arrangement instead of a pricey, small room in a hotel!
Ten thumbs up to David and his parents for turning this COZY, comfortable home into our top destination for future visits to St. Louis!!!!
Very nice, "homey" home. Felt very much at home, as we rented the whole place. David supplied fresh fruit, freshly-baked cookies, and an array of toiletries in the bathroom. Nice place w/short access to airport & city.
Our stay at David's house was very comfortable. David was extremely accommodating and helpful. When we arrived very late at night, the kitchen was thoughtfully stocked with snacks, coffee, tea, cereal, milk, juice and water, which was very helpful for our busy morning next day. The house is clean, warm and quiet. I would definitely stay there again.
Great place to stay with tons of room. David was very accommodating to our late flight arrival time as well - thank you!
Really nice house, just as described. Everything was perfectly clean. Really comfortable beds as well. David was really helpful and even had the fridge and bathroom stocked with some basic necessities. Had warm cookies waiting for us when we arrived. We really enjoyed our stay!
Our stay at David's cozy house in University City was absolutely fantastic! David was out of town this weekend, so we met with his father, John. Everyone was very accommodating and the house was well appointed and had everything we needed and then some. We actually received a foot of snow over the night and during the next day and the hosts were kind enough to let us wait the storm out at the house until the roads were plowed. All of these things and allowances were greatly appreciated and it is very evident that this family cares about their guests and making them happy. We will certainly be back soon!
Thank you for everything,
The stay was fantastic from start to finish. David's place was absolutely perfect and there is nothing that could be better in my opinion. He even went out of his way to bring us some spices when we wanted to put the gorgeous kitchen to good use! I would recommend staying there to everyone. So much better than a hotel!
Our stay at David Lizzo's home near Washington University was wonderful. The house was nicely decorated and spotless clean. We loved the amenities David left in the home such as breakfast and baskets of bath supplies. David checked on us upon arrival and departure and was very accessible in case of questions. There is easily available parking and the house is close to Wash University, St. Louis attractions and restaurants. We enjoyed renting this home and would highly recommend it to others. We will definitely rent this house again when we visit St. Louis.
My wife Catherine needed a granddaughter fix, so she returned to St Louis for several days. David's cozy home continues to provide the warmth, comfort, peace and security that makes "Grandma's" family visit a BIG success! Thanks again David....We will be back!
It was a wonderful experience. David was a great host and home was very well taken care of. This was my first experience with Airbnb and I will make it my first choice for accommodations in the future. No more stuffy hotel rooms. Great experience, I would definitely stay again and have already begun to recommend his place to others. 5 stars.
