About This Listing
Quirky old house in the middle of Ludlow. Within easy walking distance of everything. Plenty of space but the kitchen is small.
Old townhouse in the middle of this ancient market town - the house is set within the old walls, moments from the centre. Comprises Dining/Living room, Kitchen, Sittingroom, 3 Double Bedrooms, Bathroom, WC, Shower room, Laundryroom, separate Garden. This is a typically quirky Ludlow house, set on three floors. The bedrooms are spacious and extras can be accommodated easily. It is furnished with antiques. The kitchen is, unfortunately, small but we have tried to make it as efficient as possible. The spacious living areas help to make up for it. Ludlow is renowned for food, both restaurants and markets/festivals, it's castle, literary/arts festivals and antiques. Good base to explore the Welsh Marches, Shropshire and Herefordshire. One Residents Parking Permit included in rental, otherwise plenty of public car parks nearby. The price includes all services and linen (not cleaning or telephone) and limited wi-fi. All amenities are easy walking distance and the station is about 10 minutes walk.
Interaction with Guests
As much as required. Lynne, who manages the house, lives opposite and she is happy to provide information and help when needed.
This is an old house, furnished with antiques, set up as a family house. Dogs are allowed but not on the furniture, please.
Lovely Ludlow house right in the centre of town and walking distance to the station. As described, and in fact the photos don't do it justice. Very spacious and we liked the antiques and artwork in the house. Easy to walk to all the sights of Ludlow. We would definitely return.
Communication and check-in straightforward.
Thank you Sarah. I will check out the 'niggles'.
The water pressure can sometimes be difficult - I think we have to live with that - but the stove has just been checked so I must look at that again. I will also look at the front door lock. It is very helpful to get feedback.
Warm, cozy house. Well equipped kitchen. Ludlow is a great location.
Arrival and departure very straight forward. Although one needs parking permits, these are provided and very simple to use.
Hi Marie - thank you for your comments. Yes, painting is on the list for the spring. The chairs - some are waiting to be removed but we do have parties of up to eight sometimes and, no doubt, they like to invite friends in, so we have to cater but we will look at the situation again.
A great house, right in the centre of such a beautiful town. Although set over lots of levels all of the rooms are really spacious which made for a great weekend with 7 people and two excitable dogs! The kitchen was a challenge being so small, trying to cook a 'Christmas' dinner for 7, but good fun too! Really easy to make arrangemenets with Judy and her neighbour Lynne who settled us in well.
The house is in an ideal location in ludlow, very central for strolling around the town and a short walk down the hill to stroll along the river Teme. The quirky nature of the house added to its charm and the kitchen was well stocked with utensils.
We were made very welcome by Lynne who also advised us on some lovely eateries in town. Thank you for a lovely stay, I would recommend staying here to anyone else visiting the area.
Great cottage conveniently close to the centre of Ludlow - we really enjoyed ourselves here. The local host was very welcoming and the cottage and town was full of character.
We had a most enjoyable and interesting stay in Ludlow, based in what is an original and unique house. The character of the house was evident in every part of it, from the twin sitting rooms to the comfortable bedrooms and ample bathrooms. Our arrival was made easy by our host Lynne, who explained everything to us and was available for further advice when necessary. All-in-all, a convenient place to stay to explore Ludlow and its charms.

About the Host, Judy
I live outside London with my husband and dog, Spike. The properties we let on a short term basis are used by us and family so are not always available. We spend much time in France where we have a house and also travel extensively to conferences connected with my husband's main interest in building conservation and heritage all over Europe.
