Come and stay with me because I am absolutely kind, nice and friendly. I will look after you and cook your breakfast. Well worth two days' here because there is much to do and I am so marvellous!!
I am also more than reasonably priced.
Queen size bedroom or other bedroom with twin beds is available with a private bathroom (with shower over bath ) in a residential home. Kitchen available at all times. .Breakfast available and linen provided. Public transport ( bus ) in same street. Moderate walk to coast and city centre. Visitors would be made to feel "at home" in my home. Whale watching a popular tourist attraction. Plenty of restaurants - easy travel to Port Fairy to the west or Port Campbell and The Twelve Apostles. Guests can smoke outside. My latest guests enthusiastically walked into town and to the beach. There is so much to see and do around Warrnambool and although the weather can sometimes be wet and windy it is well worth a visit.Having had a number of people to stay now I believe there is so much to see and do from here that it might be wise to book for two nights. Many people come down the GOR and then belatedly realise what great places they could visit from here ( Timboon Cheese Factory and the Distillary, Port Fairy, Tower Hill etc ) , how many restaurants they could visit and what a great place it is that the majority of guests wish they had the flexibility to stay a little longer. My place is not unique but it is certainly very comfortable.
Interaction with Guests
I am basically here all the time and very much enjoy talking and interacting with my guests.
I love the fact that East Warrnambool is a fairly quiet well established area but still accessible to shops, Catholic church, and a manageable walk to the river and/or beach.
There is a bus which is quite close by.
I would like guests to feel free to make their own coffee, feel at home, pick up after themselves, enjoy a joke and feel at ease.
Helen is no doubt the most welcoming, friendly, generous and lovely Airbnb host we have ever met. She was so hospitable and her home was so welcoming and lovely. She offered us dinner but we had prior plans and she also cooked us a delicious breakfast!
Staying with Helen is like the Lego movie: everything is awesome.
Helen was an amazing host! she had prepared dinner on our arrival which we unfortunately had to decline because we had changed our plans to eat with friends. But we enjoyed the pavlova she made herself and found Helen to be a very sociable, warm and bright person. The room was impressive with cute little red chocolates laid out on a 5 star bed. The house décor was impressive, clean and very tidy. She made you feel like you were comfortable and relaxed as in your own home. Loved our stay.
What a lovely home and host ! We were greeted warmly into Helens very stylish and comfortable house which she has beautifully decorated herself. We happily made ourselves at home making cuppas (per house rules) and sitting down for a nice chat. Helen had some great suggestions for places to visit in the area and she is a consummate hostess. The room was lovely, fresh and comfy, and breakfast was delicious. I would not hesitate to recommend Helens home to anyone. Must say we were surprised to read the earlier less than glowing review, however as it clearly does not match the overwhelming number of raves, I'm glad we ignored it. We will return to Helens many times in future.
Thank you Julie and Reg for such a lovely Review. After the one and only appalling Review I was doubting whether I was as good as I hoped I was!! Anyway, I am glad you enjoyed yourselves and hope that one day you will return when I will willingly look after you two again. Regards.
Unfortunately our stay at helen,s was disappointing to say the least.
Arrived after 9 hours travel no offer of a drink of tea coffee or water. We asked for reataurants we could go to . She had no idea and eventually my daughter (website hidden)d a fabulous restaurant in warnambool. The house was spotless but our room looked like it had been taken out of the mothballs. Huge Cobwebs in the cornices and dirty window with dead fly on ledge. Refuse bin outside our window. No hanging space for our clothes and when i openeď the cupboard stuffed full with kids clothes. The other double room looked much nicer and was probably the one normally used. Helen advertised twin bed room however obviously didnt ever book it out. The mattress had springs sticking through ...so uncomfortable.Bathroom shower head was (website hidden) $100 absolute rip off. In the morning she was waiting with her suitcase packed to go away . Offered no coffee i had to ask . The effort to get a cup of coffee and then was given a single shot in a small glass. I asked for some milk and i got the 2 litre bottle . Everything seemed an effort for her. She made egg and bacon for my daughter . My daughter asked for crispie bacon and we were told she doesn't do that. I dont eat eggs and bacon so got given 2 slices of toast with butter on. No fresh fruit. She had a take it or leave it attitude. Then she said " well i suppose i should chat to you and sat down for half an hour talking about herself and giving us a postcard.
All we wanted was a warm welcome a cup coffee good advice where to go for a decent meal and a comfortable clean room to sleep in.
What we got was someone who banked on passing travellers and wanting to make a quick buck with the least effort.
rather skip this as there must be better value elsewhere

It was incredible staying with Helen. Even before we really met, we felt welcome and it seemed like that we knew each other longer than we actually did.
She is very communicative and if you are interested she has the most interesting stories to tell.
Staying with her seemed like a combination of being in a friends house and in a hotel at the same time. She took care of us so well.
The house itself looked like from a catalog, which means that she has a very good taste of decoration. It was clean, tidy and very inviting.
I don't know what else to say besides: Go there and experience yourself. I think there is no better place to stay.
What a lovely host. From the second we arrived Helen was really welcoming and very helpful in forming our plans on what to do whilst we were with her. Nothing was too much trouble. We can highly recommend
The minute we arrived Helen made us feel completely welcome! We had our own bedroom and bathroom in her beautiful home and we're offered everything we needed for our stay including a full breakfast and amazing cheesecake! We could have easily spent all our time in Warrnambool at Helen's house! Thanks so much!
From Melbourne originally. I have lived in Warrnambool for seven years and I love it. I have two grown up daughters - one who lives 3.7 kilometres away and the other one 3 and a half hours away. I love cooking, good films and visiting friends. I want my home to feel like home away from home to anyone who comes to stay and I would like them to remember their time in Warrnambool with pleasure. I adore Warrnambool and really enjoy sharing our lovely city with people. There is so much to see, so many wonderful restaurants and so much to do that everyone always runs out of time. I truly believe that one night in Warrnambool is not enough - stay longer!
My style of Airbnb hosting has not changed from day one: I love people, enjoy meeting people and as one can see from the 43 really lovely reviews everyone has a pleasant time while here with me. I will not allow one demented person to spoil my outlook on hosting - if you do see a cobweb - let me know - otherwise I will still willingly make a lovely breakfast ( and 98% of the time dinner too if you arrive before 8 o'clock ). Do not be put off by the one negative because I most certainly won't be.
