Come and stay with me because I am absolutely kind, nice and friendly. I will look after you and cook your breakfast. Well worth two days' here because there is much to do and I am so marvellous!!
I am also more than reasonably priced.
Queen size bedroom or other bedroom with twin beds is available with a private bathroom (with shower over bath ) in a residential home. Kitchen available at all times. .Breakfast available and linen provided. Public transport ( bus ) in same street. Moderate walk to coast and city centre. Visitors would be made to feel "at home" in my home. Whale watching a popular tourist attraction. Plenty of restaurants - easy travel to Port Fairy to the west or Port Campbell and The Twelve Apostles. Guests can smoke outside. My latest guests enthusiastically walked into town and to the beach. There is so much to see and do around Warrnambool and although the weather can sometimes be wet and windy it is well worth a visit.Having had a number of people to stay now I believe there is so much to see and do from here that it might be wise to book for two nights. Many people come down the GOR and then belatedly realise what great places they could visit from here ( Timboon Cheese Factory and the Distillary, Port Fairy, Tower Hill etc ) , how many restaurants they could visit and what a great place it is that the majority of guests wish they had the flexibility to stay a little longer. My place is not unique but it is certainly very comfortable.
Interaction with Guests
I am basically here all the time and very much enjoy talking and interacting with my guests.
I love the fact that East Warrnambool is a fairly quiet well established area but still accessible to shops, Catholic church, and a manageable walk to the river and/or beach.
There is a bus which is quite close by.
I would like guests to feel free to make their own coffee, feel at home, pick up after themselves, enjoy a joke and feel at ease.
Helen was a very friendly, polite and a very charming host. We enjoyed the stay at her house very much as she knew how to entertain us. Especially when you like little chats with the host this is the place you have to stay. The breakfast was delicious and we were sad that we had to leave after one night. Thanks Helen
We (Anneke and Rudy from the Netherlands ) had a very nice stay at Helen's house. Two days where to short. Helen makes an really nice breakfast and.....when we go on the road, she gives us a big part of cake. ( home made) Helen's first important is her family of course. But to give people a very nice stay in her lovely house is Helen's way of living. Helen thank you again. Hope to meet you when you come to Holland.
Big kiss Ruud and Anneke.
Helen is quite sinply a delight! And her home exudes warmth, hospitality, and an overall zen feeling. The room was positively lovely, with the most comfortable bed we have slept in during all our airbnb experiences in the last six weeks. We arrived quite a bit later than we had anticipated, but Helen was extremely understanding and quick to offer us refreshments and recommendations for dinner. She even offered us some toast and soup if we were too tired to go out, with homemade carrot cake! We opted to dine out, but happily had the carrot cake for desert, with a cup of tea and a wonderful chat with Helen. We were very tired after a twelve hour day on the Great Ocean Road, but meeting Helen and spending time in her company that evening made all our water and tear of the day evaporate! The next morning breakfast was plentiful and delicious! It was actually kind of hard to leave Helen's place, as the experience was so wonderful. We would not hesitate a minute to recommend this place, and only wished we had booked for an extra night! Thank you Helen, for all, and for making us feel like old friends! Xox
Nice host, had no chance to stay here just because we changed our plan on that day, she prepared some cakes for us, hope could see Helen next time.
We arrived quite late in the afternoon but Helen received us with a rhubarb cake, which was delicious, and we shared it with cream, jam and stories from Helen's house and life. The morning after, she made us a huge breakfast with eggs and bacon toast, sausages, tomatoes and fruit. Helen does her best to receive people well and make them comfortable.
Each room is decorated with harmony and we slept well in a comfortable bed.
Helen's house is a good option if you want to stay one or two nights in this area.
Helen must be the most hospitable lady in warambool! We had a delay and she waited up for us, made us hot tea and offered us her home made rhubarb cake which was simply delicious!
Her house is so beautiful and the home decor left us in awe. I wish I had more time to look around but it was a pity we had to leave early in the morning. She made us feel at home! We hope to be back again someday! :)
It was our first experience with airbnb and it was an awesome one!
Helen is no doubt the most welcoming, friendly, generous and lovely Airbnb host we have ever met. She was so hospitable and her home was so welcoming and lovely. She offered us dinner but we had prior plans and she also cooked us a delicious breakfast!
Staying with Helen is like the Lego movie: everything is awesome.
From Melbourne originally. I have lived in Warrnambool for seven years and I love it. I have two grown up daughters - one who lives 3.7 kilometres away and the other one 3 and a half hours away. I love cooking, good films and visiting friends. I want my home to feel like home away from home to anyone who comes to stay and I would like them to remember their time in Warrnambool with pleasure. I adore Warrnambool and really enjoy sharing our lovely city with people. There is so much to see, so many wonderful restaurants and so much to do that everyone always runs out of time. I truly believe that one night in Warrnambool is not enough - stay longer!
My style of Airbnb hosting has not changed from day one: I love people, enjoy meeting people and as one can see from the 43 really lovely reviews everyone has a pleasant time while here with me. I will not allow one demented person to spoil my outlook on hosting - if you do see a cobweb - let me know - otherwise I will still willingly make a lovely breakfast ( and 98% of the time dinner too if you arrive before 8 o'clock ). Do not be put off by the one negative because I most certainly won't be.
