Had a great stay at Suzi and Elvis' place. The place was clean, the room looks exactly like the pictures. We enjoyed the use of the kitchen for cups of tea in the cold. Very good and quiet neighbourhood, easy access to Manhattan via the subway. Suzi & Elvis were very accommodating and allowed us to check out later.
The room was very nice. I felt comfortable and have zero complaints. Thank you for help making my first visit to the east coast a relaxing/ worry-free one!
Communication was good throughout, and check-in went smoothly. The location is about a 15-minute walk to the nearest subway stop, which was what I expected and not unusual for New York. The house is on a safe, quiet, residential street, about a 15-minute walk from some of the more central parts of Astoria. The room was as expected, with one exception: The heat did not work in our room on our first night, so it was freezing cold. We were given a space heater, which we couldn't use because it repeatedly blew the fuse. The heat seemed to function in the rest of the apartment, just not in our room. I sent a message to the hosts right away, and they sent someone out on the second day to fix the heat. After that, the heat functioned better. For this price, I didn't expect luxury (you probably won't find anything cheaper than this in NYC!), but I did expect basic accommodations like functioning heat in winter. But the hosts were responsive and resolved the issue in a timely manner.
The room we rented was very large with a closet a room for a queen sized bed AND and air mattress on the floor, and a desk. Two of us slept comfortably in the bed and the 3rd took the air mattress. We didn't notice any pests. We were greeted as soon as we arrived at 5:00pm on a Friday afternoon. Coming and going after hours was no problem. The shared kitchen and living room areas were very nice, with sunlight streaming in. It's about a 10-15 minute walk to the subway station. Be careful late night, the R line shuts down but the E (I think) goes local covering the stop you need. There's a Rite Aid and a laundromat in the neighborhood.
The room was just perfect for me and my friend! Also the hosts were so kind!! I really recommend this sweet apartment to other travelers.
Good place to stay, nice neighborhood, everything you need is near. The apartment is clean and was like describe. Elvis is nice friendly and open minded. Perfect for a few days in NewYork.

We are a young professional couple who live in NYC and rent out rooms and apts through Airbnb. Elvis was born in Croatia and came to NYC as a 7 year old kid. While Suzi was born in Serbia and has been in NYC for a year now. We call Astoria, New York our home and make a great team together. Suzi is a part time student at La Guardia college while Elvis works in real estate. We are down to earth people, who are very family oriented and love meeting people from all over the world. We make sure your stay is a nice and comfortable one. We treat you the way we like to be treated when we travel. We have about 10 bedrooms for rent and 3 apts, all in the New York City area. Our home is your home and we hope to see you soon : ).
