About this listing
This is a huge bedroom about 8 meters long with living area and private bathroom. There is also a deep balcony that runs the whole length of the room with an outside hand made double bathtub under the stars - the best room in a fabulous home!
Nestled amongst rice fields and the jungle and close to the river, this is the Master Suite of a new house built to architect's design, with landscaped gardens which provide natural and private areas with views over the rice fields and natural forest.
Being a short walk from the main road (motorcycle and bicycle access only), the property benefits from being away from the hubbub and yet only minutes from central Ubud, with all its international shopping and restaurants.
The house has a new swimming pool.
Alchemy restaurant is also five minutes walk away, providing triple washed fresh salad bar, the best raw chocolate delights and pies in town, and a local hub for connecting with the local community. Penestanan is on the west side of Ubud, and less than 2 kms from the town centre, an easy and characterful walk.
This is the finest bedroom of the house, with three large sets of French windows opening onto a terrace that overlooks the rice fields in the valley below. The room is spacious with high ceilings and a 4 poster bed complete with mosquito net plus a separate living area.
Out on the terrace is a hand made double bathtub, which overlooks the rice fields and the valley below. Imagine a hot bath under a starry sky - we can even arrange rose petals for you too!
Please let us know if you need an airport pick up so we can arrange it for you.
It's hard to believe you could be so close to the centre of town at Teblin Oasis. There are a further 3 double bedrooms in the house if you need to bring more people with you. and two self contained apartments in a separate building should you be in a group. Please inquire for group rates or long term stay.
You will have access to the whole house. There is a large living room and a dining room and kitchens which are open to guests. These are shared as is the swimming pool which is 8 x 4 meters. There are gardens to enjoy with little private areas where you can be undisturbed.
Interaction with Guests
The best way to reach me is by email as I am traveling a lot. Our staff do speak English and you can refer to Rudi or Mita who will help you.
Penestanan is the hippest part of town. Its got more happening in a small area and is only about 2 kilometers from downtown Ubud . There are organic restaurants within a few minutes walk, with all the shopping you need, including the best supermarket in town less than 2 km away. You will have your choice of yoga classes, workshops and courses all within easy reach.
One of the best ways is by foot. Little winding lanes lead all the way through Penestanan, and one can get around without having to walk too much on main roads.
Within easy reach is a good selection of Ubud’s best restaurants, including Alchemy, Sari Organic, and Kue, and there are also yoga classes, workshops and different courses. For longer or quicker transport you can rent a scooter for less than $30 per week. These are nippy and easy to drive (be sure to wear a helmet), definitely the quickest way around.
Finally you can rent a car from about $20/day. As you can see the costs are low for rentals. Likewise you will find motor-bike taxi’s and normal taxi’s are reasonable prices too.
Many a taxi driver becomes the best friend of our obviators, showing them around the island with pride and joy. The locals are so friendly and want to share their culture with you if you show interest.
Other Things to Note
Please note that the reason Teblin is an oasis is that there is no car traffic - there is scooter access for the last 500 metres only. The short 7 minute walk from Alchemy will take you past little warungs (local restaurants), shops and many smiles too!
We have staff who can help you with baggage from 8 am till 4 pm. After that, unless you use our driver, you will need to arrange this for yourself. You could literally ask anyone and someone will volunteer to do it for a small fee. Likewise, if you use your own taxi, and you arrive after 4 pm, you may find he is reluctant to carry your bags for you. It is normal to tip staff in Bali if you feel that you have been served well. If they carry your luggage to Teblin Bungalows a tip of between (phone number hidden) rupiah would be appropriate. If you have been staying in the Villa then you may think in terms of 50,000 rupiah for a week’s stay
This is a no smoking house. There is a kitchen for simple cooking and a large double door fridge for personal use. If you need to smoke there are plenty of nice place on the land where you can sit that are away from the habitation itself.
Blue House and White House are next to each other and pour guest share swimming pool. Open living room and Kitchen of the Blue House are for the use of the guests of Blue House
Arriving Time: 8am-9pm.
If you are arriving outside these times please let us know in advance so we can inform our security and someone to meet you
The place is beautiful, amazing views, very peaceful, we loved it. l would recommend it. However, there is room for improvement regarding the directions provided on how to get there and being a bit more organized. Firstly, we had an issue with possibly what appeared to be a double booking. But after a lengthy discussion before arrival date this was sorted out. Secondly, we arrived at Alchemy where there was supposed to have someone pick us up and unfortunately this wasn't the case, as Novita was away. No one had ever heard of the Blue House and it took us a while to find the place. Otherwise overall, good and staff are very friendly and very good.
The house is wonderful! Location is beautiful, very green and natural, exactly what you would expect of Ubud area. The house is so beautiful, exactly like the photos, a big room with comfortable bed, nice bathroom with good shower en the bath is fantastic! The swimming pool is relaxing as well with perfect view. The people are nice friendly and relaxed, you really get relaxed as well. I would rent a motorbike to go to Ubud/places around as its too far too walk.
My basic feedback is this: a fantastic space, but a little bit lonely.
This property is really gorgeous, identical to the pictures. What you see is what you get. It's cleaned every day by the super friendly staff. The pool is one of the best I've seen in Ubud.
I was, however, surprised at just how remote this place is. It's about a 10 minute walk on a footpath, that can be very dark at points. At first, as a single woman, I was very nervous about walking there by myself at night. But finally I decided that it was safe, though I still felt somewhat uneasy. If you arrive in a couple, or you're comfortable driving a motorbike, the location should not be a problem. In fact, I think it adds to the serenity of the place.
Also, you are a bit far from Ubud center. It takes about a half hour to walk, or more, depending on which part you're going to. With the sun and humidity, this can be brutal. Also, if you're single and want to meet other people or go out at night, this can be a bit rough. Factor in taking a cab or two everyday, each ride will run you around 4USD.
Also, you should just be aware that this isn't a homestay. You won't be greeted by a host or family. It's more like a hotel, which can be an advantage or disadvantage depending on what you're looking for.
In the end, I had a great time and really enjoyed my 4 week stay in the house. But I probably won't stay there again unless I learn how to ride a motor bike or go with another person.
It was great. Had the villa all to myself. Even though it's a bit far to walk to my the main road (.28 miles) the property was simply amazing!!!
- Garden is superbe!!!
- nice pool and views
- friendly staff (mainly Ulist! Fantastic food and activity recommendations)
- far away from other tourists
- massage at the pool upon request (which was amazing!)
- good wifi
- only 2 sunbeds on the shared pool
- super noisy and hot (nature noise) due to the open space sleeping zone
- no air con
- need to carry luggage (10min walk) / not possible to drive there / very hard to find!
- need for motorbike (nothing close by)
- no breakfasts provided
- very strange management besides Ulist (owner, not the same person as sender of messages, or as persons in the villa)
- neighbors really strange, always passing by the pool staring at us when we were there in the bikini
- Night security guides often not around
- tried to charge us for "missing" things (which were for sure in the house)

Thank you Adrienne. The management has been changed, as I'm back in Ubud now. We're planning on adding breakfast as an option. As far as the neighbors staring at you by the pool, that's humble rice field workers coming up from the fields who don't see girls in bikini's while working... thanks for letting us know, we'll put a lock on the gate. The night guards have been changed, at the same time as the management. I knew you didn't take anything from the house, apologies our now ex manager was shortsighted about that - that's why I refunded you right away. Also, we've recently put our sauna up at the pool, and with your suggestion will add more sun beds. Thank you, we value your feedback - you're welcome back anytime.

About the Host, Antonio
I have lived in Ubud for over 6 years. I love this town, the sense of community, and the many varied people that live here and come to visit. I am a licensed Breathwork Practitioner, and I run Groups at my Retreat Centre, Called the Ark. I am also the founder of a Community of Healing, which is an internet based community dedicated to responsable medicine, promoting the integration of conventional medicine with the cutting edge of alternative modalities. You can join our group on FB and we will update you on activities that take place at The Ark.
I am also the founder of Alchemy restaurant in West Ubud, where we make the best raw chocolate (that is actually GOOD for you), as well as selection of raw pies and cakes, a varied line of health supplements, and and the best triple washed salad in town! We also have a clinic upstairs where you can get full advice on diet, detox and cleansing, Live Blood Analysis and acupuncture by internationally qualified specialists, not to mention the best quality Colon Hydrotherapy unit in Asia, run by Nigel.
I know a lot about cleaning the body, supporting inner growth, and uplifting the spirit. If that is your thing, I look forward to meeting you!
I love travel, writing (we do writing events and competitions at The Ark), breathwork, films, dancing, and really exploring the art of unashamed relaxation, which is what Ubud is all about! I am a member of the Ubud Sound Healers Collective, and spend much of my time at the Yoga Barn providing sound healing journey's for many who come from all over the world.
I have chosen Bali as my home because I find it the most beautiful place in the world, where hearts are open and smiles are everywhere. Almost half of the people who visit the island postpone their departure, and many return to live here.
If you are looking for a holiday that may change your life, then you have found the right place. There are hundreds of different things to do here, with multiple events every day. The Balinese are amongst the most evolved spiritual beings on the planet and they will be only too happy to share their culture with you. You are welcome here.
My motto is 'We can change the world, one breath at a time!'
