Unit is cozy, comfortable and pristine. Has wooden floors & is tastefully done. Restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance, as are grocery stores, and many more establishments within a few blocks, ie, Central Market and it's shopping strip. Laundromat is one blk; Starbucks about three.
Safe/secure location; trendy area considered to be old Austin, where legislators/professors made their homes in yrs gone by. Perfect for UT visitors/graduate students and downtown/central events. . We are fair-minded native Austinites, intent on not misrepresenting & hope for same. Pics pretty true to form. No one lives in unit on regular basis; owners live off-premise, but did live in it for 4 yrs so the value of accommodations is known. Son holds graduate degree on interior design and helped with decor. We don't mind providing refs as we hope you won't either.
Absolutely no smoking in and around unit, nor any loud gatherings. .
Assigned covered parking, courtyard
Guests cross paths with neighbors ( mostly UT students) who don't meddle; mostly keep to themselves, but are friendly and helpful. My downstairs neighbor is a friend and extends herself, should anyone be interested.
Hyde Park is a desireable area in Austin, with some stately home surrounding it...a very nice neighborhood, yet near enough to UT.
UT/City bus stop in front of complex Many bicycles, and shops within walking distance.
Overall, a very convenient location, esay to get in and out of area, easy to access main highways, too. Speedway is an extension of Congress Ave (the main downtown street); It is the street behind the capital and crosses the UT campus. The Capitol breaks the street name from Congress Ave to Speedway Ae on the North side.

Lupe was sweet and very easy to work with. The apartment was lovely and clean. I would absolutely recommend this apartment to others.
Lupe was a fantastic host, and her condo is a beautiful and quiet place with easy access to UT and the rest of Austin.
I was there for a few days house-hunting. I was initially staying at a long-term hotel that my wife set up, but it was pretty awful (bad location, noisy, stinky) so I cut that short and found this apartment on airbnb instead. That was a great decision. I'm not kidding... the clouds opened up and there was choir music as it went from 40s and drizzly to sunny and 70s. So apparently this apartment also makes good weather happen.
The place itself was excellent (clean and great location) and Lupe was great to work with. It's just off campus, with several really good restaurants, coffeeshops, and bars within easy walking distance. I recommend foodheads, salvation pizza, and the japanese street food truck "love balls" inside Spider House (a very cool bar). I was using car2go while I was there (which I recommend, but you need to set up ahead of time), and there were always cars available within a couple blocks.
I was working remotely from the apartment whenever I wasn't checking out houses, and I'm happy to report that the wifi was rock-solid. I've stayed at a few airbnbs in Austin over the years, and I think this was my best experience. Excellent deal, I would definitely use again. But hopefully I'll have my own house shortly anyway. :-)
A cozy yet fully-appointed one-bedroom flat admirably suited to extended stay, very convenient (3-4 blocks) to the UT campus. Full kitchen with compact range, oven and dishwasher, microwave, fridge, toaster and coffee maker. The first two days being cold and sleety I made good use of the electric fireplace. The last day being sunny and in the 70's, I opened the windows and got a lovely breeze there on the third floor. Central air and heat as well as ceiling fans give a wide range of comfort options. Real hardwood floors, full bath and a small balcony on the shady side of the apartment complete the amenities.
Both apartment and furnishings looked quite new and fresh. Clever use of mirrors and color scheme give the rooms a spacious feel. Of course if you want to go out there are plenty of options for dining and entertainment within 15-20 minutes' drive, door-to-door.
The neighborhood was very quiet: there was some minor noise from passing traffic but none from neighbors. It also seemed quite safe: I noticed people walking, jogging and bicycling at all hours. There is reserved, covered off-street parking included in the price of rental.
Lupe is an accommodating and affable host: she was there to greet me and show me all the particulars of the place. I strongly recommend her and her property for anyone seeking a pleasant extended stay in Austin.
Lupe's condo is great and exactly as described. I experienced a very noisy Friday night but that may have been due to the Texas college football games
I'm sorry that Friday was too noisy. I could have alerted you to the possibility if I was more posted to sport events. It is something I will try to do better at.. Though, the unit is in the midst of the UT community and in a vibrant and exciting area, it is usually relatively quiet, however, one never knows when an event or celebration may come about and change (email hidden) it was that the football games were on while you were in residence, plus the Thanksgiving holidays gave students & UT workers some fun time off to just let loose., I suspect.
The condo is nicer than depicted and after spending months living in hotels was a huge upgrade. The bed is extremely comfortable and I slept very well. The location is excellent as you're not too far from UT and walking distance to several restaurants, stores and bars. Lupe was very accommodating and took excellent care of me. She went out of her way to make sure that the items I mistakenly left were returned to me after I'd gone which was quite a relief. If I return to Austin I'll definitely book it again.
I really liked Lupe's cozy little condo near Hyde Park! Lupe was accommodating and helpful with check-in, amenities, and even suggesting places to go, despite being out of the country during our stay in Austin.
The unit itself is easy to find, with great assigned parking that is very closeby. Lupe provides more than enough supplies and whatnot in the condo: fridge, microwave, stove, pots & pans, coffee, tea; more than you need on a weekend trip. The bed is a tad too soft for my tastes, but I can't really complain.
I would definitely consider staying here again!
Clean place in a great location, and Lupe was always helpful!
Great condo! Lupe was very warm and accommodating. The apartment was well furnished and very clean. Would stay again!
