Our Place is about 15-20 minutes from LAX. A cab from there will run about $50 with tip. Other transportation can be arranged at the airport including shuttle vans and public bus transportation.
Our street is in between the two main bus routes in Santa Monica. That means that, at any given time, you shouldn’t need to wait more than 5 minutes for a bus that will take you anywhere you want to go in LA. We take the bus all the time to restaurants, bars, and down to the water--they’re all clean and safe.
Local Bus Routes: Each have bus stops a block from our apartment.

Big Blue Bus Line #2 (DT Santa Monica, VA building, UCLA)
Big Blue Bus Line #10 (express bus to Downtown LA, Union Station)
Metro Rapid Line #704 (Santa Monica, Hollywood, Silverlake, Echo Park, Downtown LA)
Metro Rapid Line #720 (Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, La Brea Tar Pits, LACMA, Koreatown)
Our street has bike lanes that will take you straight down to the Promenade, Santa Monica Pier, and the beach. All of which will take no more than 7 minutes from our apt. We encourage you to bring a bike so you can truly experience all the nooks and crannies that Santa Monica has to offer. There’s a place to lock your bike in a safe place off the street.
You’ll find a lot of people walking in our neighborhood because it’s safe and there are so many great places to get food and drink around us--whoever said you have to drive everywhere in LA never lived on our block :)
We’re young newlyweds that have been living in this apartment for the past five years. We met in college at UC Berkeley and then each went on to grad school at UCLA and USC, but we’re bear fans through and through :) We’(email hidden)ly couple, usually out on some adventure on the weekends and working during the week. We have a home office in a separate section of the apartment that we use during the week but you’d never know we were there. We’re happy to be there for any questions you may have or recommendations for places to visit during your stay.

Great experience! Thanks to Kerry for being friendly and welcoming. The location was convenient and on a quiet street, loved Milo&Olive for breakfast which made for a nice morning start. Bed was comfy and the adjacent private bathroom made everything easier. I enjoyed the quiet charm and decor. Above all, safe, relaxing, stress free, and homey. I enjoyed my stay!
I had an amazing time in Santa Monica! Kerry and Brett made me feel right at home and the room is just wonderful. The most comfortable bed I slept in in a long time! The set up of their apartment makes this space super private but at the same time Kerry was very open, hospitable and welcoming. I can highly recommend their beautiful place!
Good place. The room looked exactly as in the picture. The neighborhood is convenient and the house is clean. Also, Kerry is a nice host.
Kerry was a fantastic host to us! Even though we arrived odd hours, she was well accomodating and understanding. She is extremely helpful and came up with quick answers, solutions and suggestions. we had our own privacy and were able to use the living room and kitchen according to our needs.
The room was exactly like the pictures; clean, fresh, cozy and comfortable. Perfect for a base camp!
The location of the place is superb! We could not have hoped for better. Busses to the beach and piers are just around the corner. Nearby is grocery stores and a nice little park.
We stayed for a month and would definetly stay again. It felt like home. 10/10
I spent my first two nights in LA in Santa Monica in Kerry's excellent apartment, and it was a great way to begin my trip.
The room was clean, spacious and had its' own ensuite, giving me all the comfort and privacy I needed. The house is within a short drive of Santa Monica beach and just a little further towards Venice Beach, making it an excellent base for sight seeing.
Kerry was a kind and welcoming host. Thoroughly recommend.
Kerry's place was a great home-base to come back to after a long day exploring the city! The neighborhood is convenient and the house is clean and comfortable. I definitely second Kerry's recommendation to bring or rent a bike to explore Santa Monica and Venice.
Kerry is a very welcoming and friendly host. I mostly explored the city on my own, but Kerry had some really helpful recommendations, including a beautiful hike just a few minutes away from the house.
Enjoyed my stay at Kerry's. The bed is comfortable and the room as pictured. Having a private bath is so nice and the parking pass is priceless!
You ever wonder what would happen if Super Man got together with Wonder Woman? They'd be a force so powerful that it would melt your brain straight out of your ears. Yeah, that's pretty much us. Except I eat Kryptonite like it was candy and Kerry doesn't have gold bracelets around her wrists--they're platinum gold records! So I guess if that doesn't paint you a picture of how awesome we are, then I don't know (website hidden) we also enjoy throwing the "thumbs up" at each other on a regular basis (see photo)
