Brand new Listing!
Top-floor Victorian flat in the center of San Francisco... Views from every room, even a phenomenal view from the shower! This bedroom is inside a turret, Southern-facing with lots of light. Brand-new queen-sized mattress. (There is also a pull-out twin bed inside the living room couch, for an additional fee... We are kid-friendly so this could be used by a child.)
Unit is 1200 square feet, with two bedrooms, eat-in kitchen with views of the Bay, living room with large flat-screen TV, cable and wi-fi, desk, shared split bathroom with lockable door to toilet/bathtub/shower. Laundry available in basement.
Second bedroom occupied by Shan Shan, 26 year-old student from China (very good English). I live downstairs with my 4 year-old daughter. Shan Shan is our babysitter and attends school weekdays with babysitting until 6:30 or so most evenings and sometimes on weekends (downstairs, not upstairs where you are).
Quiet residential neighborhood, but close to everything. 7-minute walking distance down Vulcan steps to Castro or other direction to Haight-Ashbury/Cole Valley neighborhoods. Two blocks to Buena Vista park or Corona Heights/Randall Museum (free, great for kids!). About 20-minute walk or bus ride on nearby 33 bus to Mission.
Easy street parking with no two-hour limit.
While we are in 7-minute walking distance to 3 neighborhoods, it's important to note we are on a hill (thus the views). Recommend you pick up groceries before arriving if you plan on cooking, eating at home. There is a corner store at 17th & Clayton but not a large selection. Best groceries are at Whole Foods (690 Stanyan Street at Haight, about 7-10 minute walk, can take 33 bus home, bus stop in front of McDonald's, get off at Clifford Terrrace and walk up and over big hill to Roosevelt then down the stairs to Lower Terrace). Or, you can walk down to Castro neighborhood where there is a Mollie Stones at 4201 18th Street. Mollie Stone's has a van and they will drive you home with your groceries. I usually give the driver a $1 tip. Also, if you like to go out for coffee/breakfast in the morning, I recommend Cole Valley "La Boulange" along with other places in the Cole Valley neighborhood. La Boulange is at 1000 Cole Street @ Carl.

This was a wonderful location for me. Loved my room, got the morning sun and had great views of the city. The apartment is very large. Would definitely stay again.
My stay at Dana's house was great! The pictures of the house, room, and views do not do the real thing justice. It was such a pleasure to wake up each morning to see amazing views of the city right from the windows in my room. The room had a lot of the original victorian character, which I liked and the bed was very comfortable. The apartment was also very clean. Shan Shan, Dana's babysitter lived in the other bedroom in the apartment. She was very nice and respectful of my space. She was not around much so I felt like I had the entire apartment to myself. The location was convenient to public transportation-there was a bus just down the block from the house and there are four metro lines and the street car line (F) within walking distance. There's also a bus nearby that takes you to the Mission District. Overall, I'm glad I chose to stay at Dana's house for my visit and I would definitely stay there again if I'm ever back in San Francisco!
This was a great rental - terrific location, nicely furnished, comfortable, and terrific views from every window. Would rent again in a heartbeat!
Dana is a wonderful host. I felt like home all the 5 nights I stayed at this wonderful place. The views are great and the rooms are exactly as described. This place is highly recommended.
San Francisco was very nice during my visit. I really enjoyed it.
All the best !
There is nothing quite like waking up and looking over they San Francisco Bay. You can do that at Dana's place - even from within the shower - but there is more: The whole apartment is incredibly spacious and contains everything I needed to feel at home. The room itself is great and faces a quiet street, so no cars to wake you up. The metro is about a ten minute walk down the hill and brings you right to Downtown, Embarcadero and even the ballpark in about 20 minutes. I stayed for four nights, and I didn't see much of Dana (and only met Shan Shan briefly), as she lives downstairs. However, she was very quick to respond to my texts about where to find the laundry, showed me around the house and wrote down some of her favourite restaurants and places to rent a bike. All in all, great experience!
Dana is a wonderful host. I felt very welcome in the great room she is offering here. Apart from that the room and the whole house were very clean, there was no noise disturbing me at nighttime and the views from her house over the city are just magnificent!
This is a place i would always come back to - highly recommend!
What a fantastic location. I really enjoyed my four days at Dana's. For the price you get a great space and brilliant views overlooking the San Francisco area. It is close to the Metro and convenient to travel using public transport into the city should you so choose. As a host Dana is pleasant and respectful of your privacy. I would highly recommend this venue if visiting San Francisco.
Dana's house is beautiful and the views are amazing. I recommend this place.
I enjoyed my stay although I didn't get to meet Dana until my last day.
I had a great time staying at Dana's place. The place was beautiful, clean, and the location was perfect for me. The most important was that I felt safe staying at Dana's place. Both Dana and Shan Shan offered helpful tips for exploring the city.
