Your accommodation is a three bedroom home located on a 3.5 acre lot in the woods in beautiful Albemarle County, Virginia. This home is in a very quiet, peaceful, and natural setting. Wildlife is abundant. You will see plenty of deer, squirrels, and birds while you are here. You may even see a fox or a raccoon! This is the perfect place if you need to unwind. A nice hiking trail that leads to a river is approximately 150 yards away from our driveway.
The home features hardwood floors throughout, a fireplace, a skylight, and a large deck. There is plenty of off-street parking. All bedrooms are on the second floor. The master bedroom has a firm California-king sized bed and its own bathroom. The second bedroom has a queen-sized bed. The remaining bedroom has a full-sized bed. The second and third bedrooms share a full bathroom. There is an additional half-bath downstairs. The home is clean and up-to-date. It also happens to be freshly painted inside and out. We have wireless Internet, a 50" TV, TiVo, and Netflix. The kitchen is fully outfitted with all the standard appliance, microwave, dishwasher, and all the pots, pans, and dishes that you will need. Laundry facilities are available as well.
The house is located in a very quiet and safe area approximately 8 miles west of Charlottesville. It takes about 15 minutes to drive to downtown Charlottesville and the University of Virginia and about twenty-five minutes to drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Drive/Shenandoah National Park. My family and I (two adults and one child) are in the basement apartment. We do not smoke and have no pets.
** We ask that you refrain from smoking inside the house and that you respect our no pets policy.**
No pets or indoor smoking, please. My only other rule is that you don't do the stuff that I don't have to tell you not to do (don't steal our things, don't be destructive, don't spill grape juice on the couch, don't let the elephant in the house, etc.) I know you aren't going to do any of those things, but I just wanted to find a way to ask you to be respectful of our stuff. Otherwise, relax, make yourself at home, and have a great visit!
We had great 25 days in Kim's house. The house is a very clean and beatiful house. It is in the forest and almost 15 mın. to Barracks road. The view from the house is fantastic. You can find all kind of needs in the house. Also Kim and her husband are very nice and gentle people. We are very happy to meet them. We hope to see them again. Thanks Kim, we had a great time in your house. We are leaving Charlottesville with wonderful memories...
Lovely country home nestled on a wooded hill just 5 miles from Charlottesville and near many historic attractions. Monticello and the (website hidden). architecture are a must.
Kim, the host, is very welcoming and the upper home section was as pictured with a nice kitchen for Thanksgiving preparation, dining room for our four and we enjoyed the fireplace. The three bedrooms were very comfortable. The area provides a hilly country road and a nice nearby wooded trail for walking.
We recommend this home for an area visit.
Kim is the most gracious hostess. The house is lovely and spacious and Kim went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The property is wooded and creates a very secluded and quiet atmosphere. You almost feel as if you are at a remote cabin in some expansive forest.
My extended family and I had an relaxing, easy experience at the Forest Resort. Kim and her husband were extremely gracious and thoughtful, and I appreciate the thought she put into making the space friendly for our two toddlers and baby. Everything we needed was there, and we truly appreciated the bagels, cream cheese, juice, milk and coffee they provided for us. I would stay there again in a heartbeat. It was perfect for us.
