We're so glad to have found this van. Simon was very flexible, friendly and accommodating. We drove around the Sunshine Coast the first week of October and had a blast. I was able to swim in a different (and freezing) lake everyday, jump out and retreat to the cozy van and wa…

Renting an RV on airbnb turned out to be quite stressful. We finished our trip with mixed feeling about the whole experience. The good stuff • Simon is a nice guy in person • The RV handles the road well • gas efficient • came with a GPS • comfy bed • Functional kitchen The no…

Hi Olivier, you could always have called me. I don't insist on any one form of communication. People just find messenger cheaper as they are usually roaming and they can go on wifi. We charge a deposit as there is no way in air bnb to cover costs. If you rent a house in airbnb there is very little likelihood that the house you rent is going to hit another house. There are variables to renting motorhomes that are simply not addressed and as such I need to protect myself. It clearly states it in the add. As for gas, it also clearly states what we charge in the Ad. You asked me off the cuff and I guessed as I was nowhere near a computer at the time. The ad is there for clarity. I don't change the deal I just revert people to the ad so that everyone is clear. The RV is a 2004 model so I clearly state the age in the ad. When you came back I tested the fridge and it worked fine. The brake lights also work fine, it was the reverse light that went. The battery did die in the remote. I have no control over if a batter is going to die. There is full insurance on the vehicle. It is maxed out with insurance. The only thing that we insist is that you have travel insurance for your own medical expenses. That is also clearly stated in the ad. Usually when you rent an RV there is nothing included. We included chairs, bedding, cutlery, games, tools like axes, A whole host of items that are not included when renting a camper. You rented a camper and that is all we are obligated to provide. I would say we saved you a lot of money providing all these added extras at no charge. We didn't forget the plates, you are responsible for them as with all other items other than the camper. We just thought we'd give you items that may help. I made a mistake with the mileage and "took your word for it". You got back exactly what you expected to get so I'm not sure what the complaint is there. Having a deposit for renting an RV is a standard practice. You'll find that the next time you rent one. I'm disappointed with this review as we go above and beyond to show people a great vacation with our camper. We threw in many extras for free. I can't help if the fridge stops working then magically start. I also can't help dead batteries. This seems petty.
