Just two blocks from the French Quarter and 0.7 miles from the busy parts of Bourbon, Royal, Decatur and Frenchmen Sts, less than a mile from Jackson Square, and a walkable 1.4 miles to the Jazz Fest Fairgrounds: you will walk everywhere! (Plenty of free on-street parking in our neighborhood.)
Right between the African American Cultural Museum and St. Augustine's Church, our tree-lined block is older than the city itself, having been part of the original Native American portage road that linked the River to the Bayou.
The quaint beauty of our block has been captured in the HBO series, Treme, as DJ Davis's locale, with occasional on-site filming including 'his' house and those of his neighbors.
All the best live music and bars are within a short walk of our home. The perfect distance, we think, for convenience to all the parties, but the relaxation of the oldest integrated residential neighborhood in the country.
And history lives on throughout the year, with frequent Second Lines and Mardi Gras Indian processions on our block.
Come for a weekend or come for a month!
This spacious (1100sqft) furnished apartment in a historic 1870's house has a full kitchen, two bedrooms, each with a queen size bed, a washer and dryer and a huge living room/ dining room with two full size sleeper sofas.
Check in is 3pm. Check out is 11am.
Please no smoking in the apartment; use the side yard if you wish to smoke.
Please do not gather in front of the house after 10pm. The only issues we've ever had with my neighbors involved loud groups in front of the house late at night. Thank you.
The apartment was very spacious. It was in a great location and parking was easy to find.
What an amazing stay! Gregory's apartment is perfectly located about 10 minutes from Bourbon St. in the French Quarter part of New Orleans. The space was clean and very accommodating for our needs (we were a group of 7).
Gregory was a great host! He was easy to communicate with and provided us with what we needed. The apartment was close to the French quarter and met our needs for our long-weekend stay.
Greg kept constant communication from the time we booked the room all way up until we left. We even had a question while there and he responded within moments. In the kitchen was left instructions of how to get to most popular destinations which deemed to be very helpful. Overall great experience.
Greg's place was huge, with more than enough space to accommodate our family of 4. The air conditioning was great, and could handle New Orleans' summer easily. Beds were comfortable and shower was powerful. Also, there were plenty of towels available. Greg was quick in answering our messages. It is in the ground floor, but it is somewhat dim and it feels like a basement. Also, it is not the cleanest place we've been. But if you are looking for a place to sleep&shower, in walking distance to the French Quarter and Frenchmen Street, this is it.
// O apto do Greg é enorme! Ar condicionado funciona bem e consegue dar conta do verão de New Orleans. As camas são confortáveis, o chuveiro potente e tem muitas toalhas disponíveis. Greg respondeu as mensagens rapidamente. É no térreo, mas é meio escuro e parece um porão, e também não é o lugar mais limpo que já estivemos. Para quem procura um lugar pra dormir e tomar banho, perto do French Quarter e Frenchmen Street, esse funciona bem.
Great location. Place was nice and convenient. Only downfall was the lack of microwave and iron. Overall, I would stay there again.
Gregory's place worked out great for us. It was within walking distance of the quarter etc. It was nice and cool. Loved having some things stocked in the freezer, they came in really handy. Seemed like a pretty good neighborhood. Never had much trouble finding parking either.

About the Host, Gregory
My wife and I have finally settled down, buying our first house in New Orleans after having lived and studied in San Francisco, Jackson MS and New Jersey since college. We absolutely love this city, and feel that it is the current American Bohemia, vibrant with art, music and creativity at every corner.
