Just two blocks from the French Quarter and 0.7 miles from the busy parts of Bourbon, Royal, Decatur and Frenchmen Sts, less than a mile from Jackson Square, and a walkable 1.4 miles to the Jazz Fest Fairgrounds: you will walk everywhere! (Plenty of free on-street parking in our neighborhood.)

Right between the African American Cultural Museum and St. Augustine's Church, our tree-lined block is older than the city itself, having been part of the original Native American portage road that linked the River to the Bayou.
The quaint beauty of our block has been captured in the HBO series, Treme, as DJ Davis's locale, with occasional on-site filming including 'his' house and those of his neighbors.

All the best live music and bars are within a short walk of our home. The perfect distance, we think, for convenience to all the parties, but the relaxation of the oldest integrated residential neighborhood in the country.

And history lives on throughout the year, with frequent Second Lines and Mardi Gras Indian processions on our block.

Come for a weekend or come for a month!

  • The area we stayed in was not the most upstanding, although I wouldn't have known that if the clerk at the local gas station didn't tell me. It wasn't anymore dangerous than the rest of New Orleans. The apartment is huge, I was with a party of 4 and we did not want for space. It reminded me of my first apartment in college. The beds are hard, but the couches are cozy. I would stay here again, and recommend it to a friend. Wifi works. We never personally met Gregory, but he answered all our questions as best he could and in a timely manner. This listing is a great deal.

  • Host is responsive. Easy check-in/out. Good location about 10 minutes walking to French quarter. Print out maps are provided. Place is spacious.

Inside is pretty dim; it gives you New Orleans (website hidden) is cold but loud. Beds & pillows are less comfy.

I didn't realize there was TV. It's okay for one night stay with my family.

  • The host was nice even let us check in early! Place is 5 Min away from French Quarter! I will come back!

  • Traveled to NOLA for a weekend trip with a few of my friends and we we're pleasantly surprised with our accommodations!

The apartment was more then we needed. It had two bedrooms with a full size bed in each, big bathroom, washer/dryer, great kitchen, and a big living room for relaxing. There we're even little "toys" left by the host or previous guests, like beads and balls.

It could have been fully complete if it had a tv so we could watch the World Cup, and the wifi as a bit slow at times. But overall, it had everything we needed. These were just minor first world problems. The host was kind enough to leave a map of points of interest!

The apartment was conveniently located by a gas station that had everything we needed, and was walking distance from French quarters.

Overall, we had a great time! Thanks!

  • Gerg's place was perfect for our NOLA bachelor party. Unfortunately I never got to meet Greg but he was always quick to answer a question and considerate. The apartment is extremely spacious that the nine of us didn't have any space issues. Of course, having one bathroom wasn't ideal but if you manage your time correctly it is not an issue. One thing to mention is if you're going to NOLA in the summer it can get really hot. There are ACs in every room. The apartment seems to be on the older side but it had everything we needed. The neighborhood has a lot of character and it's walking distance to the Quarter. It seemed safe but locals in the area reminded us it's always best to no walk alone at night but that's advice you'd give anyone in any city. In the end I would rent from Greg again as I had one of the best weekends ever staying in his apartment.

  • The place is great. It's bigger than the pictures make it look and the location is very convenient. Greg was an excellent host, he gave us everything we needed and some extra info about the surrounding area promptly upon arrival.

  • I rented this unit because I was getting married in New Orleans. I explained to Gregory that I had family flying in from out of state and out of the country for the event and he was more than willing to accommodate. The unit is steps away from the French Quarter and only a block away from family's house. I was very fortunate to find this deal. It is a steal in comparison to other places. It is very large, spacious and clean. It's got everything a party of 6-8 people may need. The only thing it lacks is a bit of decor on the walls. Otherwise, it is perfect for visiting the area since most of the time it is spent outside rather than in.
Communications with Gregory where a breeze. He responded to my inquiry and booking request instantaneously, everything done via the app email. Upon reaching The apartment, Gregory had left 3 sets of keys on the table which worked perfectly for a group our size. He also supplied the group with maps to the FQ and various popular destinations as well as cab numbers. Although I didn't have the opportunity to meet Gregory and his wife in person, I can say they made this experience a stress free, happy one for us. And if you were to need them, they live extremely close. So that is never a problem. This was certainly 100,000 x easier than booking, checkin in and out of a hotel. During the trip, Gregory emailed me asking to gain entrance to the apartment for the traveler before us though he'd forgotten his watch there on accident. I

  • I went down for a girls weekend and stayed here. We had a great time. The apartment was very roomy and all 6 of us were very comfortable. The French quarter and Frenchmen street were walking distance from the place.

My wife and I have finally settled down, buying our first house in New Orleans after having lived and studied in San Francisco, Jackson MS and New Jersey since college. We absolutely love this city, and feel that it is the current American Bohemia, vibrant with art, music and creativity at every corner.
