Interaction with guests
I work from home and I am available to "meet and greet". Occasionally I have busy work days but I am always available to advise of local places to visit, eat etc.
I live on a quiet cul de sac just off the main road to Portlaoise and within a short walk of Abbeyleix town. There are only nine houses on the road. It is a peaceful estate. Guests comment on the birds chirping and views of the mountains in the distance.
Public transport runs from Abbeyleix to Portlaoise. Trains and buses run from Portlaoise on a regular basis.
Other things to note
Two dogs also live here.
Guests are expected to respect my home but also to make themselves at home while staying with me.
The house is a no smoking house but smokers can smoke in the garden.

My family is grown up and in recent years I took the plunge and became self employed. I have an office in my home and on normal days I can be found behind my desk.
Since I swapped the stresses of being an employee for the stresses of being self employed I have come to appreciate Abbeyleix as a town to live in and my house has felt more like home - I no longer feel like a lodger in my own home.
I love .....
meeting friends for coffee and a chat
eating out, cinema, theatre
being spontaneous - just getting in my car and driving to the beach on my days off
having coffee outside my back door in the early hours of the morning
travelling - I dont do enough of it - something i intend to rectify
It may sound boring but my motto is live and let live.
