About This Listing
Medieval apartment in old Trastevere just by Piazza Santa Cecilia. Just across the bridge from the Tiber Island and the ancient Temple of Hercules Victor (2nd century BC). 10 minute walk to Piazza Venezia and Campidoglio (the birthplace of Rome). Trastevere is the heart of Roman nightlife with restaurants, cafes, and art boutiques. It is the part of Rome where musicians walk through the Labyrinth cobblestone streets while playing their violins. It's like being in a small village. Very genuinely Roman.
On the primo piano (or American 2nd floor) without elevator. The apartment is a studio with a comfortable queensized bed, dining table, and kitchenette (with complete cookware and dinnerware. The bed has a real queensized mattress (not two beds put together). Microwave, bread toaster, electric stove top, electric kettle. Bathroom with shower. Amenities include a washing machine, A/C, Wifi and the convenience of being in the heart of the Eternal City.
There is a late check in fee of 20euros for arrivals after 8pm (20h00).
After 10pm (22h00), the late checkin fee is 40euros.

Interaction with Guests
I will be meeting with each guest on checks-in day so that I can turn over the keys and explain all the amenities
Just below the apartment building are two cafes, an absolutely must-visit restaurant called Le Mani in Pasta, and a grocery store.
From this apartment's location, "everything" is walking distance away.
Unless communicated beforehand, all checkouts must be by 10am so that we may prepare the apartment for the incoming guests.
Joseph was a great host! Always positive and cheerful, he provided immediate solutions to our problems and he was very helpful from the beginning to the end... And also, we liked his recommendations very much... He had his rules (such as cancellation or late check-in policies) but he was very clear about it and he always did his best to make us comfortable... Thanks !
Flat was great, little bit dark but it was a lovely old area, we had a wonderful time. Thanks!
I cannot stress enough how ideal the location of the apartment was. Located in the heart of the Trastevere district, it was within a 1-3 minute walk of some really really great restaurants (Anthony Bourdain even featured a restaurant around the corner from the apartment on an episode of "No Reservations"). Also, it is only a 5 minute walk from a large and lively nightlife area with many bars, restaurants, and streets lined with vendors.
We also walked to every attraction or site in Rome that we visited (except for the Vatican, which was a short and inexpensive Taxi ride away).
The apartment itself was nice as well. Joseph was there to greet us when we arrived and he provided us with a brief history of the area as well as some eating and nightlife recommendations (though it would have been ideal to have this info provided in an e-mail or a printed document in the apartment since with all the hustle and bustle of arrival, it was difficult to retain the info).
I would certainly recommend this to travelers wanting to stay in a beautiful neighborhood rich in historical charm and full of countless eating and drinking options.
Joseph arranged for us to drop our bags off even though the room was not ready. That gave us a chance to see Rome a bit more on our first day! The room is in what I would consider the best place to stay in Rome. Trastevere is quaint, hip and not too touristy neighborhood in Rome. The location is close to everything and within a reasonable walking distance. Downstairs you have a choice of three cafe's to get a good cappuccino and croissant to kick start your day. The room is as advertised. It is clean, updated and offers everything you need for a comfortable stay. Joseph always responded quickly to our requests and was a gracious host. I would highly recommend Joseph's flat to anyone who is interested in a nice location with a feel for the real Rome.
The flat was great and from the start Joseph made us feel very welcome and at home in the apartment. The location is very convenient within walking distance of all the major attractions and sites. There were plenty of excellent food choices close at hand or within a short walking distance. The flat had plenty of hot water available, and the bed was very comfortable - slept well throughout the four nights. The location is a little tucked away, which may mean a brief walk for 5-8 minutes both in and out over cobbled streets to get to a taxi or public transportation. At night this first floor flat was a little noisy as there were a few restaurants in the immediate vicinity - nothing too serious, but we had the window open (we didn't use the air con) which made it noisier. As mentioned elsewhere, the shower cubicle is small and the drainage is slow; be warned if you are of slightly bigger build! Overall, I would very highly recommend this accommodation.
Lovely apartment in Trastevere, clean, with all utensils you can need, very good location (on one side, crossing one of the bridges, you can reach the Coliseum in a 10minutes walk, on the other side you will find yourself in the best place to have breakfast, have a beer or have dinner). We have walk the city from Joseph's apartment. We have felt really at ease with this apartment and we had no problem at all with any of the amenities. We do recomend this place.
