About this listing
Medieval apartment in old Trastevere just by Piazza Santa Cecilia. Just across the bridge from the Tiber Island and the ancient Temple of Hercules Victor (2nd century BC). 10 minute walk to Piazza Venezia and Campidoglio (the birthplace of Rome). Trastevere is the heart of Roman nightlife with restaurants, cafes, and art boutiques. It is the part of Rome where musicians walk through the Labyrinth cobblestone streets while playing their violins. It's like being in a small village. Very genuinely Roman.
On the primo piano (or American 2nd floor) without elevator. The apartment is a studio with a comfortable queensized bed, dining table, and kitchenette (with complete cookware and dinnerware. The bed has a real queensized mattress (not two beds put together). Microwave, bread toaster, electric stove top, electric kettle. Bathroom with shower. Amenities include a washing machine, A/C, Wifi and the convenience of being in the heart of the Eternal City.
There is a late check in fee of 20euros for arrivals after 8pm (20h00).
After 10pm (22h00), the late checkin fee is 40euros.

Interaction with Guests
I will be meeting with each guest on checks-in day so that I can turn over the keys and explain all the amenities
Just below the apartment building are two cafes, an absolutely must-visit restaurant called Le Mani in Pasta, and a grocery store.
From this apartment's location, "everything" is walking distance away.
Unless communicated beforehand, all checkouts must be by 10am so that we may prepare the apartment for the incoming guests.
Joseph is an amazing host! He was extremely communicative, and very friendly and helpful. The apartment is perfect. It's tucked away on a shady quiet corner, so you're within quick walking distance of the noise and fun of Trastevere but out of the midst of chaos (and tourists). Lots of great restaurants nearby! And the apartment itself is great, with AC (amazing in August), a comfy bed, and a nice area for eating in case you want to prepare simple meals at home. Thank you Joseph!
Joseph was a very welcoming host. We outlined the area, neighbourhood and what was available to us nearby. The flat was spacious, clean and comfortable. The neighbourhood was tremendous and I would definitely stay here again.
We had a really great experience staying at Joseph's apartment. It was fantastic of Joseph to greet us and provide some history of the area, as well as walk us through the apartment and its features. We were especially grateful of this given that our arrival time bounced around a little bit.
The apartment is brilliantly located! The Trastevere is where you need to stay and this place is in the perfect part of it. There are some amazing restaurants literally a few minutes from the apartment and its a short walk to some great bars, too. It's also possible and quite pleasant to walk to all the main attractions of Rome from the apartment.
We found the apartment itself to be just what we needed - a good size, comfy bed and, most importantly given we were there in August, air conditioning. Joseph warned us that the air conditioner may leak water, which wasn't a big issue except when it did so in the middle of the night and caused my partner to slip and fall on the tile floor as he was going to the bathroom. Not a big issue and thankfully he was okay but it's something to look out for.
I would happily recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a comfortable, well-located place to stay in Rome!
Amazing host with charming apartment in ideal location. Joseph provided such a warm welcome and wealth of knowledge. He was incredibly responsive and informative and would totally recommend staying there!
It was a great experience staying at Joseph's apartment! The apartment has everything I needed and on a quiet street - perfect for a good night sleep. The location is convenient to all the major sights, I walked everywhere and only took the bus once. Joseph was quick to respond to all my queries and so understanding when I was late for an hour after getting lost. I have really enjoyed my daily (really good) coffees at the little cafe just across the street. Rome was amazing and staying at Joseph's apartment was a great experience! I highly recommend :)
This was a lovely place to stay. Joseph was easy to communicate with and gave very explicit instructions on how to get to the apartment. When we arrived he shared some of the local history and gave us some dining suggestion. The little place across the street is a must! A little bit more expensive but very good. Joseph showed us how everything worked in the apartment. The location was great, no more then a 2 mile walk from any of the major attractions. This was a perfect place for us!!
