About this listing
Medieval apartment in old Trastevere just by Piazza Santa Cecilia. Just across the bridge from the Tiber Island and the ancient Temple of Hercules Victor (2nd century BC). 10 minute walk to Piazza Venezia and Campidoglio (the birthplace of Rome). Trastevere is the heart of Roman nightlife with restaurants, cafes, and art boutiques. It is the part of Rome where musicians walk through the Labyrinth cobblestone streets while playing their violins. It's like being in a small village. Very genuinely Roman.
On the primo piano (or American 2nd floor) without elevator. The apartment is a studio with a comfortable queensized bed, dining table, and kitchenette (with complete cookware and dinnerware. The bed has a real queensized mattress (not two beds put together). Microwave, bread toaster, electric stove top, electric kettle. Bathroom with shower. Amenities include a washing machine, A/C, Wifi and the convenience of being in the heart of the Eternal City.
There is a late check in fee of 20euros for arrivals after 8pm (20h00).
After 10pm (22h00), the late checkin fee is 40euros.
NO checkins allowed after 12midnight (24h00).
Interaction with Guests
I will be meeting with each guest on checks-in day so that I can turn over the keys and explain all the amenities
Just below the apartment building are two cafes, an absolutely must-visit restaurant called Le Mani in Pasta, and a grocery store.
From this apartment's location, "everything" is walking distance away.
Unless communicated beforehand, all checkouts must be by 10am so that we may prepare the apartment for the incoming guests.
Joseph was very kind and helpful. He was nice enough to meet us after a late flight into Rome and share with us some of the history of the area in which we would be living. The apartment is in a great central location, with many good restaurants nearby, and is within walking distance of most of Rome's biggest attractions. It also has air conditioning, which was much needed in the summer heat. Overall, a wonderful experience.
Das 1 -Zimmer -Appartement bietet alles was man braucht.
Joseph met us on arrival, gave us a little historical background on the area which was very interesting, and some excellent dining recommendations.
The apartment was charming with a great location; very easy to walk to all the stuff we wanted to see, with good public transportation access as well when needed.
Joseph was a great host! Always positive and cheerful, he provided immediate solutions to our problems and he was very helpful from the beginning to the end... And also, we liked his recommendations very much... He had his rules (such as cancellation or late check-in policies) but he was very clear about it and he always did his best to make us comfortable... Thanks !
Flat was great, little bit dark but it was a lovely old area, we had a wonderful time. Thanks!
Great apartment in a fun neighborhood. Joseph was very helpful and accommodating. It really is a great place to stay to see Rome, even if just for a short visit.
I cannot stress enough how ideal the location of the apartment was. Located in the heart of the Trastevere district, it was within a 1-3 minute walk of some really really great restaurants (Anthony Bourdain even featured a restaurant around the corner from the apartment on an episode of "No Reservations"). Also, it is only a 5 minute walk from a large and lively nightlife area with many bars, restaurants, and streets lined with vendors.
We also walked to every attraction or site in Rome that we visited (except for the Vatican, which was a short and inexpensive Taxi ride away).
The apartment itself was nice as well. Joseph was there to greet us when we arrived and he provided us with a brief history of the area as well as some eating and nightlife recommendations (though it would have been ideal to have this info provided in an e-mail or a printed document in the apartment since with all the hustle and bustle of arrival, it was difficult to retain the info).
I would certainly recommend this to travelers wanting to stay in a beautiful neighborhood rich in historical charm and full of countless eating and drinking options.
