The Neighborhood

Sunset Park is one of the many neighborhoods in the artistic borough of Brooklyn. This is also one of the safest and most diverse neighborhood in New York city. Here you'll find charming tree-lined streets with historic brownstone row houses, a thriving Latin culture, Brooklyn's largest Chinese community, and a recent influx of young New Yorkers and artists.

My apartment is right off the main avenue of 'Little Latin America' shopping district on 5th avenue with many restaurants, shops, grocery stores, Banks, etc. Brooklyn Chinatown is a short walk away on 8th Avenue offering many more shopping & restaurants. Around the corner, 1 minute walking distance away, beautiful Sunset Park offers a panoramic view of Manhattan skyline, downtown Brooklyn, and even Staten Island and New Jersey.

Getting around

A subway (Metro) Station is 2-minutes walking distance away, the train ride to Downtown Manhattan is about 25 minutes, 40 minutes to Midtown Manhattan during peak hours.
Buses are easily accessible.

  • Chandle to date has been the best host I have experienced through airbnb. Chandle was always willing to assist and recommendations. The place was spotless, comfortable and easily accessible by transport. What made this trip so enjoyable was seeing Chandle bring people alive through this canvases.
If I go back to New York, I know where I'll be staying.
The neighborhood where Chandle's home was located whilst not in Manhattan made up for it with teh Historic Brownstone homes and the multicultural area. The food in the area was a 1/3rd of the price of Manhattan.

Chandle thanks for making me feel so comfortable.

  • My best Airbnb-Experience! Chandle was the perfect host: He was quite helpful, could recommend a lot of things, like places to be, websites, which helped me to safe money, to meet people, to have just the perfect time in New York. The room is really nice, beautiful, clean. The appartement is also a really good place to be. The only thing: You have to be aware, that you need an hour to get to Manhattan. However Brooklyn with his Chinatown or Williamsburg is also definitely worth to spend more than one day walking around and visit.

    Response from Chandle:

Stefanie, thank you for the nice review.
Yes, it will take about 45-60 minutes to get to midtown Manhattan from dorr to door. Though to get to downtown Manhattan it is usually within 30 minutes. Hope you find my apartment 2 minute walking distance from the subway station convenient.
Have a nice travel to San Francisco.

  • Chandle was fantastic. On my first he helped me with my bags and even gave me some delicious homemade soup. He is full of recommendations for places in the area and is a wonderful person to talk to. My only regret is that I couldn't of stayed longer in his great apartment and enjoy his company even more. If I ever need a place to stay, I will 100 percent come back to Chandle! :) keep in touch!

  • Chandle is a great host! The room is beautiful and clean. It is very cheap to a quality. I recommend you this room.
    物件の良さもそうですが、オーナーのChandle(私はチャンドゥーと呼んでいました)がとても良かったです。

  • Chandle has been an exceptional host. Everything is exactly as described. The place is clean, has all the necessary utensils and only a two minute walk to the subway. There are lots of shops and eateries around the area and everything you need within walking distance. Chandle is the most caring, friendly, positive, and considerate person you will ever meet. When I arrived late in the evening, he greeted me at the front door and offered to carry my heavy (almost 30kg luggage!) up the stairs. Not only that, when I awoke the following day, he offered to make me lunch and even showed me around the area! He is very easy to talk to (I always enjoy our chats), and he gives you the best tips in New York. I highly recommend him and would not have gotten through the past few weeks in this amazing (but sometimes tough) city of New York, if it weren't for Chandle. I consider myself extremely lucky to have found this place and most importantly have met a friend like Chandle. So far, overall this has been the best airbnb experience I have had... by far- so thank you!
