The Space

A tranquil backyard space is included with your private suite located in the back of our home. The suite has a private entrance and pergola covered patio. The yard of mature trees and perennial shrubbery is completely fenced with a solid 5' wooden fence which adds privacy and security to your stay. The only sound you may hear at night is that of an old owl in a tree nearby. We are located within a nice group of homes tucked away and surrounded by wineries, vineyards and picturesque hills and vistas only 2-1/2 miles southwest of Sonoma Plaza. The 6 acre grassy area in the center of town is the largest plaza in northern California and is a great place to relax, have lunch or visit boutiques and shops. Wine tasting spots are plentiful and a wonderful Farmer's Market occurs every Tuesday and Friday.
Our home is centrally located to Napa, Glen Ellen, Kenwood, Petaluma and Santa Rosa. The Golden Gate Bridge is one hour away and the Sonoma Raceway (formerly Infineon) is about 10 miles. We are in the most scenic and convenient part of town with wineries and great lunch stops scattered in and around our home all within 1/2 to 2 miles in all directions.

The room provides you with a queen bed, down comforter, an extra blanket and pillows, tub/shower,and air-conditioning.. You will also enjoy a flat screen cable TV, WiFi, a small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, table and 3 chairs in the room and 2 sofas and another table and 4 chairs on the patio. We have wonderful walking paths and sidewalks in the area and the wafting fragrance of junipers and pines on a warm day is a very nice and pleasant experience. Come and relax with no interruptions. Our labradoodle "LottieDa" is not allowed in your area at all at any time therefore making it a safe place for pet fearing guests. You will love it here...we do! Private Entrance always and self check in if you like.

  • An absolute oasis! Bob and Jackie are truly the perfect hosts! The accommodation they provide is a home away from home. So many small touches, the availability of toiletries, tea, coffee were so unexpected and delightful. The room is extremely comfortable and more than spacious for two. The secluded patio outside the room was a real treat! Having arrived from overseas with no luggage Bob and Jackie ( and Robyn.. Thanks Robyn) were beyond helpful and more than generous with their time and advice. You cannot go wrong here .. We are already looking forward to a return visit. Maith sibh ( as we say in Ireland)!

  • I love the fact that this has it's own private entrance with a beautiful backyard and patio. The room is self-contained with a small fridge, microwave, hairdryer, coffee maker, fresh ground coffee, cream, sugar, cups, flatware, plates -- everything one needs.

Thank you for a pleasant stay, Bob & Jackie!

  • The name was the perfect description for this lovely space and location. We had everything we needed including a fridge and microwave for oatmeal every morning. The back deck is to die for - we never wanted to leave. Thank you, Bob and Jackie, for sharing your beautiful home with us.

  • We stayed with Bob & Jackie will attending a wedding in Sonoma. Since we had plans to go to the wedding and winery tours we opted to only rent a room vs. a studio and this was as good as a hotel. The water was hot, bed was comfortable and hosts were great. While attached to the house it was very private and the back yard was like a mini oasis. We were very pleased.

  • Bob & Jackie's place was very nice for our stay. The room was just as pictured and the backyard was very nice. It was very quiet and serene at night. As they stated in the listing, they kept to themselves and let us come and go as we pleased. If you are looking for something close to Sonoma Plaza this is not the place for you, however, we took taxi's and it wasn't terribly expensive. Overall, a great stay.

  • We loved our stay at Bob and Jackie's! It was just what we were looking for: a quiet, relaxing place to end our busy vacation. The bed was very comfortable and the night quiet as can be. Bob was very helpful in giving us restaurant recommendations in the area. We went to a few places and had great dining experiences.
We would definitely stay here again!!

  • This was our first Airbnb experience and we loved it. I may never stay in a hotel again. Bob and Jackie are the best of hosts - there if you need them, invisible if you don't. The room was beautiful and the patio was an extra special feature. The room has a very comfortable queen size bed, flat screen tv, books, magazines, small table and chairs, every feature you would want in a room. The private attached bathroom has a tub/shower combo, full strength hot water, iron/ironing board, hair dryer, toiletries, robe and slippers, and lots of plush towels. Both rooms are large, well appointed, and felt luxurious and very private. There is a sliding glass door to the private patio, which is surrounded by lush gardens and is oh so peaceful. It is a wonderful spot for sitting and relaxing. We were visited daily by a blue jay and hummingbirds. Bob and Jackie have considered every detail to provide comfort to the guests - a small refrigerator, a cooler, a microwave, extra linens and blankets, dishes, coffee maker (Illy coffee with cream in the refrigerator in a crystal flask!). No detail escaped their attention. They even had maps available and sheet of suggestions for restaurants. The space is in a beautiful, serene, in a very quiet neighborhood that is a couple of minutes away from the Sonoma Plaza. The rooms are impeccably maintained and extremely clean, and I am very particular about such things. Their dog is precious, and unless we initiated contact (which we did!) we never knew that a dog lived there. In fact, throughout our stay felt like we had the entire place to ourselves. We had a key and came and went at our leisure. We will definitely stay here again, and will be recommending it to all of our friends who visit wine country. Definitely a 5 star experience, I would award more stars if I could.

About
Robyn is our daughter ..she manages "Quick walk to Plaza"..our other airbnb suite is "Tranquil & Secure" which is managed by us...Jackie & Bob. We moved here 9 years ago due to my older daughter's persuasive persistence. She thought we all should live closer to her so our relationship would remain close. She was not moving back to Pennsylvania when she found work and a husband in San Francisco. We discovered Sonoma, fell in love with the town and the rest is history. We are all from the Philadelphia area but in the past several years have enjoyed our West Coast (website hidden), dining out, wine tasting as well as art, antiques, estate sales, tennis and reading are hobbies that to keep us busy. Family gatherings, friends and great experiences are what keeps us happy.
