  • Our stay at Villa Bonita was overall a very good experience. The bed was very comfy, the breakfast with banana pancakes, omelettes and fresh fruit served by Anna in the morning was lovely and delicious. Unfortunately there is a construction site on the property very close by. It was very noisy from as early as 7 am but according to the host the work there is on and off. Can be helped with earplugs!

  • Ok, so for starters, this place isn't really on Balangan beach. Rather 15 minutes away by car or motorbike, plus a short stroll. We navigated our way to the bungalow with the map system provided by the big internet company starting with a G, and it showed a spot much closer to the beach, which in fact was a piece of farmland. A good advice is not to trust this map system in Indo (we had similar problems in other places as well...)

We never met Charlie in person, but he was very easy to communicate with on internet, and instead we met up with a guy from the staff who provided us with information about the neighbourhood, breakfast time, laundry, and simple map over the Bukit area.

There's no staff around at night. On our first night the electricity shut down. In the beginning we thought this was affecting the whole neighbourhood, but 1,5 hours later a man (the caretaker?) who didn't speak any english showed up, and turned on the central power switch. Unfortunately he wasn't able to explain how to solve the problem if it happened again, and the other guests didn't seem to care when the same thing occured a few hours later, and I had to go look for the switch with a flashlight pretty annoyed.

With that said, travelling to Bali for the 7th time since 1996, the bungalows are quite nice, typically Balinese holiday style, and you basically get what you pay for - the swimming pool, AC, and the hot shower.

I also really missed some top bed sheets and blankets considering this was an AC room. So, in case you want to avoid getting cold at night, and still use the air condition, you'd better bring your own sheets or sarongs.

    Response from Anna:

I am sorry the light turn off a couple of time Jon. something pretty unusual that maybe happened because the incredible bad weather of the last few week with big storms.
i really appreciated your so detailed comments about small issues like not having blankets when you could ask to the maid and problem solved.

And to finish my answers i would like to clarify 2 other things to everybody who read that:

    1. if you read the description of the property you will see we are in the road of Balangan Beach, just 5- 10 min in scooter/car to the only access to the most beautiful and uncrowned beaches in all Bali. its a easy and pretty nice green road that everybody loves.....

    2. you paid 25 usd for 3 people with breakfast time pay (phone number hidden) usd night to be by the sea... but probably you will have issue about what complain about it. sorry we are not perfect!!! lol.

    Charlie and the Balinese staff!

  • Very quiet and peaceful place, very convenient location, especially if you rent a bike - about 10 min to the beach or a supermarket. The staff was helpful and attentive. There is a great place with amazing milkshakes just down the road if you turn left from the main villa's entrance, called Kafein.

  • Very nice stay in this bungalow !
The bedroom is spacious and super clean. In addition the breakfast is cooked with love by Ana, the banana pancakes are awesome !
There are very beautiful and famous beaches arounds, nevertheless, there are not many restaurants close at hands.
To conclude, the staff is very kind and always available.

  • Hello! We were in this Bungalow in december 2013. When we came (23 pm) nobody didn't meet us so some people from this area helped us: called to Charlie and then showed us where we can to find the keys. It was not good meeting but i must to say that it was maybe also our mistake that we didn't read letters from Charlie. He interested the time of our arrival, proposed the transfer. We didn't see this letters because of flying time. But it's so little thing and i recommend you to check your email everytime. Charlie is very friendly person, he and Ana (staf) always are ready to help you. to organize taxi and others things. Bungalow is clean, nice. Also it's very comfortable that you can use sweemingpool. Very quiet place but you must to use motobike or taxi for going to beach (10-15 min by bike) and to market (10 min). No cafe and no restorant near to bungalow. But if you will rent a bike like us-it is no problem. You can rent a bike in Bungalow. We didn't see snakes. Bungalow has condition so it's very good for sleeping.Breakfast was tasty. We recommend to stay here if you will rent a bike. For couple or family it's very good (email hidden)so it will be super to stay here with a company of friends.

  • Laura and I were lucky enough to stay at Bungalows in Balangan for 3 nights during our whirlwind tour of Bali, and we were so glad we came to this place first. We had a really nice personal driver pick us up from the airport at midnight, arranged by Charlie, and he cost about as much as a normal reliable taxi. We got to the bungalows and we had our own private room with en suite which was neat and clean with vaulted Balinese style ceilings and air-con. Unfortunately Charlie was away for the time we spent at the Bungalows, but the staff were very helpful, kind and friendly, plus Ana cooks a delicious omelette!
Really nice place, I would definitely recommend to people who are looking to explore the Bukit peninsula.

  • Had an amazing time! Very thing was as expected and Charlie was extremely helpful. The room was clean, and we felt right at home. Make sure you get a scooter as it's a little but of a drive to the surrounding beaches and restaurants. However, it's the best and cheapest way to get around. Thank you Charlie for having the scooter ready for us when we arrived. Also, breakfast cooked by Anna in the morning made us feel at home. One tip! Take Charlie up on his transfer offer. It's a little more then the taxi from the airport, but only around $6 USD. The taxi may have trouble finding it.
