The entire condo is a 2-bedroom, 1.5 bathes. I have a second bedroom in my condo that I would be happy to rent out to one or two guests. Room has a full-sized bed and is very spacious. Condo is in a friendly, quiet, safe neighborhood. And this is a gay-friendly listing too. Amenities available for use are: washer/dryer, stove, microwave, dishwasher, T.V., cable, wireless internet. Guests would have full access to the entire house, except for my room.
There is a great private patio out back for relaxing in the sun. Right behind the condo there is a wonderful walking path/bike trail that spans 10 miles long. Off-street parking is readily available.
Downtown is approx. 15 min. drive away. The beaches are between 20-30 min. away. Approximately 10 min. from the airport and train station. The mall, retail shops, and grocery stores are all within a 5-7 min. drive.
*There are three resident cats that are amazingly friendly and live indoors. If needed they could be restricted to my room only for the duration of your stay.
Ellen was a wonderful host. She was very prompt in our communication and waited until late in the evening for my arrival. Her apartment has a great (email hidden)d I very much enjoyed running on the trail located right behind her apartment complex.
I needed a place to stay while working at Charleston Fashion Week and it was very last minute. I liked Ellen's place because it was inexpensive, but then found that a friend of mine shared a friend with her who had nothing but nice things to say.
Ellen checked in every day to make sure my stay was going well even though I would wake up after she went to work and my work would have me getting home after she was in bed every evening. She was so easy to get along with as were her cats. Being cats they were likely to sneak into my room and my belongings at the first opportunity but Ellen did offer to lock them in her room at night. By the end of my stay the cats knew when to get out, except one who would just flop down and wait to be petted/carried. Ellen also made room for sewing equipment I brought with me to work on a project, and apologized profusely when she didn't have an iron I could borrow.
I would certainly stay with Ellen again, though if I make it back to another CFW I would probably try to stay closer to the action (downtown), but Ellen's place is just over the bridge and very comfortable for any going to the general Charleston area.
Ellen is a welcoming, friendly host and she is easy to get along with. It was easy to communicate with her throughout the reservation and stay. She was full of suggestions on things to do and eat around town. She was also helpful with directions.
I definitely recommend staying at Ellen's wonderfully fragrant condo while you're in town as long as you're down with cats; Ellen's cat are awesome.
