A spacious three-room rental suite (bedroom with queen-size bed, private bath and den) in a cool old house with a backyard deck overlooking the Cumberland River in East Nashville/Inglewood. 10-15 minutes from anywhere you want to go in Nashville!
This is a cool circa 1929 house sitting on a lush, wooded acre in East Nashville (Inglewood) originally built as a fishing cabin and constructed of wood from a Nashville, Chattanooga & St. Louis Railway boxcar. It's been totally renovated (though I'm currently replacing siding on the outside of the house) and has a beautiful deck in the backyard with an amazing view 150 feet above the Cumberland River. The rental includes the entire south wing of the house, plus a shared kitchen and living room/music room with fireplace and baby grand piano. The rental wing has a door to close you off from the rest of the house and includes a guest bedroom, private bath, and a TV room with a 52" HDTV, mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker and WiFi. The guest room has a queen-sized bed and the sectional in the TV room makes a comfy bed for at least one additional person.
A 5-minute drive and you're at Riverside Village where you'll find Sip coffee house, Mitchell Deli, Watanabe Sushi, Castrillo's Pizza and Village Pub. A few minutes further south and you're in the heart of East Nashville with some of the best restaurants in Nashville as well as shopping, bars and live music. You’re also a 10 minute drive to Opryland. In fact, you can see it from the backyard.
A short drive down my road and you're at the entrance to the Shelby Bottoms Greenway. An 8-mile loop of paved greenway space that meanders along the banks of the Cumberland River with scenic footbridges, marshes and frog bogs. A pedestrian bridge over the river takes you to more greenway paths and the Two Rivers area. For the more industrious, in the other direction, the greenway will take you all the way to downtown Nashville.
I've lived in Nashville for over 20 years and love to guide guests around this great city. I work from home and am always available to answer your questions, guide you where you need to go or make suggestions for things to do. I'm an avid runner and can give you tips on places to run and upcoming running events, maybe one will coincide with your visit.
Please note that though you’re a short drive from all east Nashville has to offer, this is a more secluded spot and really isn't within easy walking distance to restaurants and bars. Having your own means of transportation is highly recommended. If you need public transportation, it's a half-mile walk to Gallatin Road and the closest bus stop.
If you’re a musician, you’ve come to the right house. I’m a musician/singer/songwriter too and this is a peaceful, inspiring hangout. Lots of places to sit and write and play. And there’s nothing like sitting out on the deck and looking out over the river for inspiration.
Speaking of the deck...it faces east. Sunrise views are spectacular and it’s a perfect spot for doing yoga or meditating, or just having a cup of coffee.
Full access to the living room area, fireplace and musical instruments. Full access to the kitchen for cooking meals and to the deck overlooking the river.
There isn't a private entrance to your part of the house but there is an interior door to your wing that you can close that gives you full privacy of your bedroom, bathroom and den which also includes your own mini fridge, coffee maker and microwave. I share the kitchen and living room and may have a fair amount of interaction with you. This has ended up being the best part of being an airbnb host. I’ve met so many great people and in the process, some lasting friendships.
Inglewood is the northern part of east Nashville. The lots are larger and more secluded, giving the house a rural feel even though it's only minutes from great restaurants, bars and music venues. It's a very safe neighborhood with winding roads and lots of old, tall trees.
Though there is public bus service, the nearest bus stop is 3/4 of a mile away. It's highly recommended that you have your own means of transportation.
Our first Airbnb-Experience - and: STRIKE! Jeff was the most wonderful host. Arriving at his house was like coming home. If you're looking for a warm welcome, a beautiful, cosy, cool, very clean and spacious place (bedroom + livingroom + bathroom all for yourself) plus great company in a lovely neighbourhood - that's the place you want to be! Don't hesitate to book, you'll love it!
Myself & girlfriend stayed at Jeffs, house for six nights we had planned a trip around the live music of Clarksdale, Memphis & then Nashville on our final leg of our journey. The communication with Jeff was excellent before & during our stay giving out a lot of ideas where to go & see & eat , he even took the time & trouble to type it out on paper which was a nice touch. The house itself was lovely & spotless as others have said before we had the right hand wing to ourselves & were able to come & go as we pleased , but must add you will need a car to get about to make the most of it.The rear garden was lovely but unfortunately the weather was not great , even snowing one morning so did not get a lot of use out of it but still fantastic views of the river. All in all a fantastic place to stay of have missed out lots as will just be repeating what others have said before & would love to go back at some point . Thanks again Jeff.
Jeff's house is AMAZING! The home has so much character and the bed/bath/living room are spotless and really comfortable. Jeff has thought of everything you could need to be comfortable...snacks, wine, extra toiletries. He was totally chill and friendly from the time we got there and made our time in Nashville super pleasant. I would recommend Jeff''s home to anyone!
Staying at Jeff's was our first AirBnB experience and it was wonderful! Arriving on a cold, wintry night, I fantasized cozying up to a warm fireplace. When we arrived, Voilá!, there it was! The accommodations were cozy, beautiful and more than we even expected. We had access to the entire house and I would have cooked a meal had we stayed more than two nights. The little "coffee closet",with its Keurig coffeemaker and variety of coffees and teas to wake up to each morning was delightful. A real home away from home experience. The fridge and microwave was SO convenient as we kicked back in our private den, had a beer and watched TV. Or was that the night we kicked back in front of the fireplace with a beer and read one of Jeff's books out loud and laughed and laughed? Doesn't matter. ;-) Jeff was a warm, inviting, accommodating host who was available for questions, but gave us all the privacy we needed. The patio overlooking the river will be great when the weather warms up and the location was perfect. The lighting all over the house is incredible; along with the decor, it makes for a very warm, intimate feeling when you step in the door. But you need to experience that for yourself. Two thumbs up for East Nashville House On The River!!
Jerome and I came to visit our son who lives in Nashville and as a big bonus made a friend in Jeff.
He could be the Airbnb poster child -
warm, gracious, interesting, attentive - all you could ask for when coming to a new place.
His home is filled with his talents and history. It's clean and cozy and offers plenty of privacy. The weather was so nice while we were there it was hard to leave his backyard deck with the beautiful river views (loved the string lights at night). Thanks to Jeff, it was the perfect experience.
p.s. Ask him about his paintings.
We loved staying at Jeff's house on the river. It is a very warm and welcoming home and Jeff is a gracious and generous host. The guest rooms were quite comfortable and well-appointed, with plenty of space and privacy. Jeff opened his house up to us and we all enjoyed sitting and sharing conversation. Spending time on the beautiful deck was heaven and when the weather warms we hope to return and make better use of it! Jeff also suggested areas to visit and good restaurants that suited us. The only regret I have is that there was not more time. I now know though, the things I would do the next time around. East Nashville is a wonderful area and we were very happy to stay away from the bustle of downtown Nashville but to have close access.
Spent a long weekend in Jeff's wonderful home. Jeff is a great host and communicated well throughout the whole experience. He even met us as we arrived late in the night since our plane was delayed and provided a quick tour and instructions on a few items before we retired for the evening. He was respectful of our time, provided tips on local restaurants/venues to visit, and we shared some conversations and laughs. Everything was clean, simple, and in working order. We didn't get to use the deck due to timing, however hoping there will be time in the future when that opportunity occurs as it is really setup in a great location overlooking the river. Jeff's home is in a great location and perfect for a couple. Highly recommend it.
Staying at Jeff's house couldn't have possibly been a better experience. He truly provides a B&B style experience... his home is so cozy that we had a hard time leaving and getting out to explore Nashville! The location is perfect, so close to east Nashville and downtown! Unfortunately (we really wanted to meet him!), Jeff was out of town during our visit, but he was still a perfect host and checked in on us multiple times to make sure we had everything we needed and gave us some really awesome Nashville tips! I would highly recommend staying at Jeff's house to anyone, and plan to visit again in the future!
Jeff was a fantastic host and I will certainly be returning to his great home during future visits to Nashville. The location is my favorite residential areas of the city and close to a lot of non-touristy restaurants, bars and stores. Our living quarters were perfect for our needs - big private living room, beautiful bedroom, nice bathroom. Very clean, cozy and welcoming. Jeff really helped us out with the local color and he was as friendly as they get. I feel like I made a good friend in Jeff. Our trip was excellent and it has much to do with our experience staying at Jeff's house.
Jeff's place in East Nashville was my first Airbnb experience, and I couldn't have asked for a more welcome host and charming home. Filled with character and charm, the house includes a fabulous wood burning fireplace, large backyard and deck overlooking the Cumberland River. Jeff is very accommodating, great conversationalist, and kind enough to offer a sampling of his amazing musical talent firsthand . . . Banjo/guitar playing, by the fireplace, above the river, in Nashville!, TN Authentic as it gets! Next visit down to the Music City, presuming there's availability, I'll be staying with Jeff again!
