We had an absolutely perfect stay at Chris' Old West Austin place. Our stay was during SXSW, the location of the place was great; we walked everywhere. The place is big enough, has good wifi, and everything else you might need. And Chris was very flexible with our schedule! Definitely recommended.
Host and Home were great! The only problem was the distance from the SXSW festival and the traffic, which, of course, Chris had nothing to do with!
Would definitely stay here again and recommend!
My husband Victor and I are recently retired teachers, (me art and him english). We met and married in the mid 80's although we have lived in Austin since the early 70's. During this time we have witnessed the incredible growth in the music scene and the population in our home town. We reminisce over the music we heard at the Armadillo world headquaters that offered such performers as Stevie Ray Vaugn and the Talking heads. Now we still enjoy live music at a variety of venues including the historic Paramount theatre ACL and the summer concerts in Zilker Park. as well as many of the smaller venues in restaurants and bars. We enjoy spending time with our family (3 children and 2 grandchildren) and friends. We love to head out of town to visit our friends and other family in Taos New Mexico where we lived for 9 years. There we realized many of our dreams which included building an off grid self sustaining house and owning a local art gallery. We moved into our current home last summer and have plans to install a rainwater collecting system and any other system that promotes sustainability.
