First, the apartment was not at the address advertised or confirmed and I was not told until I was on my way to the apartment. The explanation also did not make sense, but I didn't press the issue. However, this was only the first of several unpleasant aspects of the apartment. The bathroom has black mold on the wall that separates it from the bedroom, and the cabinet under the bathroom didn't shut so the doors were always wide open, taking up much of the small space. The shower had a pile of dirt in it when we arrived, and there wasn't any hand soap. The bathroom sink had such a malodorous drain that I almost threw up while brushing my teeth. One of the towels had dirt all over it. On the second night, a giant clump of dirt fell from the rafters onto the bed. In the morning, I awoke to tickling on my face: There were sugar ants crawling on me. The pillows were so flat that I couldn't fall asleep for hours even though I'd walked miles in the heat and lie there in a steamy, non-air conditioned apartment. Oh and the door frame was hanging off the wall so you could see into the apartment from the hallway. They let us check out late, which was nice because I didn't want to leave the city. Rome and that neighborhood are fantastic, but this apartment was definitely not.

We really enjoyed Tom's place. Evelien gave us a warm welcome and shared some precious tips about what to see, where to eat... She was also available during our stay if we had any question. The apartment is in a super location: everything is at walking distance ! It was clean and nice, as shown in the pictures: perfect for a couple. Tom and Evelien, thank you again !

Tom's apartment is a lovely experience overall. We did have some checkin issues (cleaning lady hadn't gone through the apartment before we arrived, so we had to walk out and come back later). The building is a part of a neighbourhood with a unique history and the architecture is old, romantic, with enough security to feel safe, but not overwhelmingly. There are a number of late-closing restaurants and cafes nearby, and the overall food variety in the vicinity is excellent. Tom's apartment allows for cooking and keeping some stuff in the small fridge. Cons: There are steep steps on the way to the apartment, so keep this in mind if with large luggage or if you cannot climb steps much. The windows look directly into other people's windows.

Tom's place is in the ideal location, with everything in walking distance-especially some good bars and restaurants. Evelien couldn't have been more helpful, she checked us in and spent lots of time going through a map of the city with us, giving us some great tips of dos and donts. The apartment is perfect for a couple looking to explore the city. It is small, but has everything you need, even if you want to cook! The shower was very good, the place was really clean and we really enjoyed our time in this place.

Evelien was very friendly. She organized the check-in which went fast and flawlessly. She told us the must-see places and places to eat. I recommend to follow her recommendations, they are truly helpful. The apartment is clean, bright, located in the city center, so you can visit all the popular places by foot.

I've been called by the guys of Airbnb because my profile description was too short so here I'm , writing something about myself wich I hate more.. I'm traveller like you guys,! when I have some Euros left in my bank account I just grab the first ticket and I go! I think there is nothing more that share experience between humans when they are travelling... we all need to travel, we are modern nomads looking for emotions and for that we....

"Need to go faraway" ( that was my original, short description!

Hope to meet you in Rome
