Large private room with great high ceilings. This room has a nice sized closet next to the entrance of the room and one tall window with great lighting during the day. This room has two double doors the open up into the room. It is on the opposite end of the apartment away from the other two rooms, so it has the most privacy in the house. There are two other bedrooms in this apartment. I work a lot from home, drawing and some sewing, so I am home a lot working in the living room. We have a beautiful, large living room with exposed brick on one wall and some comfy couches for lounging. Our large couch in the living room pulls out into a bed, so some times my I will have guests stay over in the living room, but not on a regular basis. The living room is meant for all to share and enjoy! We are fortunate enough to have a washer and dryer in our apartment as well, which is very rare for NYC! One small bathroom, with a tub. Nice long kitchen at the end of the apartment with a full sized fridge, gas stove, and lots of room for storage. I have a very sweet 2 year old male cat named Tiny, not aggressive at all, and the apartment is kept very clean at all times. The neighbor hood I live in is called Bed-stuy, based in Brooklyn. It is an up and coming neighborhood, very close to the hip, young areas like Williamsburg. I have lived here for almost 3 years now, and I love it! Every week there are new stores, coffee shops and bars opening up near my house! I pay a decent rent for the great space that I have and I am really close to everywhere I want to go in brooklyn, 15 minutes from Union Square, Manhattan, and 15 minutes from Queens. I live just one block from the Myrtle-Willoughby G train line which I use to get pretty much everywhere I need to go. I am also about a 12 minute walk from the JMZ subway line which is also good. There are also bus stops literally right outside of my doors, and we can call a taxi and have it arrive in under 5 minutes. I really love my apartment and I love to share it with others. I enjoy traveling a lot and meeting different types of people. Cheers!

You came here to find a place to stay, so let me start with the space.
You will be staying in a very modern looking apartment. Kayla is a very creative fashion designer and her sense of style is well reflected in how the place is decorated.
The room is quite large with plenty of closet space and a nice comfortable bed.
The apartment is well maintained and very clean. If you prefer not to smell, there is a washer and a dryer in the apartment, which seems to be fairly uncommon for New York City.
Aside from being a nice, comfortable and clean living space, this place came with a lot of pretty cool amenities. For instance, a unicorn.. seriously. The only other magical creature that I know of is a super small tiger. Most people think he is a regular sized cat, but his name is Tiny. He's not small for a cat, so he has to be a tiger, right? Either way, he's a fun and friendly animal to hang out with. He didn't even try to eat me, as I first feared. I reason that being tiny, he probably has to hunt tiny game. That and Kayla seemed to feed him pretty regularly.
It's pretty hard to beat magical creatures, but this place also has a rooftop hangout that might as well be magical. It has an amazing view and will definitely put you in a trance. You can see a lot of Manhattan, Brooklyn and believe it or not, the stars look pretty good too; maybe not as good as ocean stars, but impressive for NYC. The sky at sunset is pretty outstanding as well.
The apartment is an easy one block walk to the subway and has several food options right out the front door.
I would highly recommend staying here based on the apartment on it's own, but if you like people, I have more to tell you.
This was my first time using Airbnb, so I didn't know what to expect, but Kayla turned out to be one of the most open and friendly people I have met in New York and I have met a lot of very friendly people.
She is very inviting and inclusive. She is always trying to introduce you to someone or inviting you to hang out on the roof or listen to music. I can't speak for her, but she seems like the type of person that doesn't meet strangers, but rather friends she doesn't know yet.
That being said, if you're anti-social, she's not going to force you to hang out with her either. I get the feeling that she just accepts people as they are. All I can say is that she is a very genuine human being.
So if you want to know a really cool person or if you want to live in a really cool space, you're in luck, because you get both in the same package deal!
This was my first visit to NYC - I'm in love! I felt safe, people were kind when I asked for directions, one day I got several compliments about my shirt just on a short walk to catch the metro. There is a deli grocery shoppe below on the corner, great for grabbing a beer or a quick snack. Catching the G is right down the street at the Myrtle Willoughby station which takes you pretty much anywhere. The room I stayed in was a deal. The bed - sooo comfy, plenty of blankets and pillows. It was clean and orderly upon arrival, hangers for clothes provided. She has a cat named Tiny who is friendly. The flat is right next door to an art exhibit that is under installation and I happened to come across a feature film being shot outside at the crosswalk and a music video another time! This neighborhood is artistically authentic and up and coming. Kayla is very knowledgeable about the area, just ask.
