Pirate's chest and tandem bicycles?

Apartment - Private room · Tagensvej, Copenhagen, Capital Region of Denmark 2200, Denmark

The Space

"Hold da op!" We have a pirate's chest from 1778 and a big red tandem bicycle perfect for exploring Copenhagen in style!!! We also have available a bedroom to rent in our spacious 3rd floor apartment located in the heart of Nørrebro --- twenty-years-ago a den of criminal activity and now a bustling center of colorful and completely non-criminal activity. It is really the new place for strong families, with lots of playgrounds, cafés, and other shops.

Our apartment is well-connected to public transportation directly into the center of Copenhagen. The State's Museum for Art is close by, and highly recommended! Fælledparken is close by, and highly recommended! The wonderful shopping street (Strøget) is close by, and highly recommended again. Just so you don't think we highly recommend too many things, we do not highly recommend Danish wine. It is quite easy to get to our apartment from the airport: just one metro ride, and one bus ride. We are close to the S-tog, and of course, our two tandem bicycles are available! (two bikes, four seats, like the song.)

Our charming apartment is on the 3rd floor, and measures over 140 square meters (1500 sq. feet). We have two bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms, a kitchen, a living room, a map room and a music room. Our entrance has a COATRACK. The large available bedroom has the wooden pirate's chest from 1778, a comfortable queen-sized bed, and of course linens and pillows and duvets. We have towels too! We also have a clothes washing machine and DRYING RACK. The music room also has a comfortable couch-bed, which can accommodate more guests if necessary. You will have your own bathroom with a toilet and sink. The shower is in the second bathroom connected to our bedroom.

As far as technology, our apartment is equipped with running hot water. One thing about Denmark: the hot water is piped in. As in heated at some central location, and piped throughout the city!! Can you believe that? We also have wireless, flatscreen television, and candlelight.

And if that isn't enough, in our safe and secure courtyard we have extremely good amenities for children, such as a huge playground, slide, sandbox, swings, picnic tables, and a concrete ping pong table. It is really amazing.

There is free parking on the streets around our apartment. It is very easy to find a parking spot close by.

A little about us: we are two extremely educated adult children that entertain ourselves quite nicely thank you. We love to travel, eat well, and laugh. We have no children or pets. One of us works as an associate professor at a local university, and the other loves to cook very fine food that the other one loves to complement the other one for making.

So, to summarize, the price of the room provides you with:
- Clean bed linen and towels
- High-speed wireless internet connection
- Banter
- Use of the kitchen, like the kettle, stove, and microwave clock
- Use of our tandem bicycle, with free lessons
- Ironing board and clothes washer (with DRYING RACK :)
- Tourist guides/brochures & city maps, and lots of experience and advice on what to see, do, eat and drink, and what not to see, do, eat and drink
- Keys to our apartment

- Use of the piano, and possibly an accordion subject to Bob's permission
- Free parking for your car on the street where we live

Check In
  • Bob and Carla are really friendly and super helpful in all terms. For all musicians: Bob is composing some crazy stuff and is doing research about audio signals and recording.
The flat is clean, tidy and cozy. The room is perfect for 2 persons.

  • We would definitely recommend staying with Bob and Carla. Their home is beautiful, the bed is huge & very comfortable and the heating is great (it can get very cold in Copenhagen!).
Although both Bob and Carla were away for the majority of our stay, they were contactable should we need anything. And Carla in particular made us feel very welcome immediately, offering us tea or coffee and telling us we had the run of the place. She also gave us our first lesson on how to use their tandem – although after a few near crashes, we decided to leave it at home.
The only downside was that the place is slightly further out of town than we first thought – but it is only a 15 min bus ride (stops right outside) to the town centre.

  • I (we) loved staying with Bob and Carla. We we're traveling through Europe, with a short stint in Copenhagen. I had to rearrange a few dates, and Carla was so patient with our changes. I loved Denmark and hope to make it back soon.

  • They're very friendly and polite, you feel as was your home. The house is really particular with a pirate style, wonderful! You have to try the tandem: the first five minutes you feel unable, than is just useful and funny!
    I really recommend it!

  • We didn't end up staying at Carla and bob's but they refunded us last minute which was amazing! Can't wait to make out flight next time and excited to actually get to meet them!

  • We spent a wonderful week in Copenhagen at Carla and Bob’s beautiful and clean apartment lit up with many candles during the long evenings. The location is perfect, it is easy to reach the city center by public transport and the tandem bike is really worth trying!

Carla and Bob, thank you for all! For our next stay at Copenhagen, your apartment definitely will be first choice.
