  • We greatly enjoyed our stay. The apartment was exactly what we needed for our family of 4. Zach met us as soon as we arrived. He was very friendly, and helped us with our luggage upstairs. We drove in to the city and were able to get street parking downstairs, which was a great surprise. The apartment is small as expected, but very clean and tidy. The decor is pleasant and the beds are very comfy! The neighborhood was great- we had no problems with the Hell's angels next door. It is a quick walk to the subways which was perfect- you also pass a Bodega and laundry center on that route which was also very nice and convenient. The wifi was very spotty the whole time which was frustrating, but other than that we have no complaints. We look forward to booking again on our next trip to New York!

  • Myself and two friends stayed in the East Village apartment this December. We were met by Zac as soon as the taxi dropped us off, even though we were slightly later than we had anticipated, he even carried my luggage up the stairs to the apartment. He told us everything we needed to know, handed us two sets of keys and insisted if there was anything we needed to know or ask just to give him a call. Our overall first impression of Zac and the apartment was a very positive one. The apartment itself resembled the photos exactly which was great. The apartment was also very clean and tidy. We personally couldn't find any fault. The area was good and we found a couple of really great places for breakfast before hopping on the subway, the nearest station was literally a two minute walk so you could be anywhere in Manhattan within minutes! Although we spent little time in the apartment it would still be great if you were intending on cooking yourself meals as there was a fully equipped kitchen with everything you would need and more. Although the bathroom was small it was clean and tidy and we all had plenty of clean towels so it was great for us.
The beds were comfortable and there were extra pillows and blankets if we needed them. Overall we all enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend staying here if you want a clean, tidy, reasonably priced modern apartment and don't mind hopping on the subway. Oh and nearly forgot the views from the roof terrace were incredible, definitely worth climbing the flights of stairs!

  • We had a lovely stay at this apartment. We preferred to be away from Times Square and in a neighbourhood with more of a 'local' feel, so the location was perfect, with lots of cute restaurants and wine bars nearby. We were in the fourth floor apartment rather than the one depicted, but it was just as nice and extemely clean and well presented. As a group of 5 it was close quarters but we expected this and found the apartment excellent value for money, with WiFi included, and a change of towels provided during our stay. Ram was very helpful meeting us on arrival and helping with our luggage up the stairs. Would certainly recommend this apartment.

  • Schönes Appartement in hervorragender Lage. Perfekte Abwicklung. Nette Vermieter. Bad ein bisschen klein - ansonsten alles sehr gut!

  • Stay here!

This apartment was really gorgeous, fully self-contained (including a washing machine and dryer) and really modern. The location was great too (ignore the fact that it's next door to the Hell's Angels - we didn't see or hear anything unusual!).

And, to top it off, the manager, Zach, was brilliant! My sister's bag didn't arrive on her plane, so we were in constant contact with Zach waiting for her bag to be delivered by the airline. Zach was really proactive and so helpful (and he carried my sister's bag from their office to our apartment....up 4 flights of stairs!).

I absolutely loved this apartment, and will definitely stay there again next time I visit New York.

  • Well maintained/ clean apartment, friendly staff and great location (within walking distance of a lot of nice bars, restaurants and shops and near the F-(email hidden).) As a couple we stayed in the Vishnu loft, which was – in our opinion – much more comfortable and relaxing then staying in a hotel.

  • Great area to be in for restaurants. Spent 5 nights here.
The worst was the 5 flights of stairs to climb to get to our room. Loved The Bean coffee shop on the corner. No problem with being next to the Hells Angels. Did experience a loud hit and run to a parked car just below our window one night. Would stay again but would like one on a lower level. Great experience!

  • This East Village place was a really nice spot to have a reprieve from the day of sight seeing and touring. Mario had a rep meet us within 5 mins of arrival. We had to drop out luggage for storage at a place about 10 min walk with our suitcases but that was the only inconvenience we had during our stay. We would stay here again and recommend others to stay here as well. Thank you!!

  • For those who want cheap accommodation in a great location, this is the place for you. We were on the top floor which was tough but we welcomed the execrcise given all the food we were eating. Zach the manager was wonderful and so helpful. WiFi not so great but there is a coffee bean cafe 50 metres away which has free WiFi so not that was not much of an issue. It is right next door to Hells Anegels Head Qaurters, at first I was concerned, but we did not see one person come out of there so it was no problem at all. It was great I really recommend for any budget traveller I wpoudl definately stay here again!!

About
Hi, My name is Mario. Allow me to tell you a little about myself and our projects. I'm originally from Peru but had the great fortune of growing up in South-East Asia (India, Nepal & SriLanka). I have since traveled far and wide; too many countries to name them all. I received my BFA in Dance Theater from the University of Florida which only increased the traveling for a few years. I now reside in New York City, co-manage SanctuaryNY, take a dance class whenever I can, and love meeting new fellow travelers (and I still travel a lot). Some years ago, a group us (artists, entrepreneurs and world travelers) sat down to brainstorm. The idea was to find a way to provide travelers an alternative to the often impersonal and priced up accommodations found in New York; Sanctuary Guest Suites was conceived and the rest is history. Over the year we have hosted guests from all walks of life (musicians, business owners, families, dancers, actors, writers, honeymooners, wedding parties, photographers, fashion designers, UN representatives, doctors, travel bloggers, yoga groups, chefs... etc). We chose Lower Manhattan because of its creative vibrancy and diversity along with its user–friendly travel connections to any part of the city. Whether you are flying from half-way around the world or driving just a few hours to New York City, each visit has the potential to bring new inspiration and valuable lessons into our lives. Sanctuary Guest Suites facilitates this experience by offering an affordable, peaceful and stylish accommodation for the traveler in need of a calm, retreat-like experience. Sanctuary Guest Suites is also active in helping the local East Village/Lower East Side community. We fund 'Food for Life @ Tompkins', a local out-reach project that serves fresh FREE meals to our neighbors in need 3 times per week. Our motto is 'Do Good, Be Happy' We look forward to hosting your visit to New York City! FOLLOW US: (website hidden): @MarioCornejoNYC (website hidden): @SanctuaryNY
