Located in beautiful northern California, Petaluma is 30 minutes to the Pacific, forty-five minutes north of San Francisco and a short drive to wine country. A quick 10 minute walk to downtown shops, restaurants and theater, this is a great getaway for your Northern California escape.
The house is large and gives a lot of privacy in the upstairs where you have a queen size bedroom. There is a large bath for use if needed. The kitchen is downstairs as well as laundry. Our neighborhood is great for walks with charming architecture and a park just around the block.
There is much to do locally and near by and we'll be happy to make recommendations.
Guests can relax on the chaise or window seat on the landing. They can sit in the living room downstairs or wander through our garden
Interaction with Guests
We always make an effort to be present for guest arrivals, and departures. Occasionally, obligations elsewhere, make that difficult and sometimes a member of our family stays at our house and greets guests.
We are near the crest of a hill and have some vistas. We love our yard and hope people will enjoy it. We back up to an historic neighborhood, so architecture is varied. We are a 15 minute walk to downtown.
There is ltd public transportation, however, taxis come quickly and fares are not high. Also, uber can be utilized. A quick 10-15 minute walk puts you on the heart of downtowm
Other Things to Note
We have provided full breakfasts in the past, but have recently, reluctantly, decided to go to a continental breakfast with freshly made items. It will enable us,we hope, to save water and not increase rates. Sheri and Maurice.n

About the Host, Sheri & Maurice
We are a married couple and have lived here in Petaluma for almost 40 years. Our home is furnished with many antiques because of our interests and business. We have hosted exchange students from Spain and France (for up to a school year) and have traveled to Europe several times and hope to go again to see different countries.
We love the many dining choices here in town all focusing on fresh local food as well as a number of microbreweries. We enjoy walks in a number of parks here with walking trails, marshes and water fowl. Downtown is less than a fifteen minute walk with many antique shops, restaurants, movie theater and coffee (website hidden) tie up in downtown at the "turning basin" on the Petaluma River providing a great view from many local restaurants.
