Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
This solar powered school bus "Schoolie" tiny home is nestled under open skies, near the forest, with a lake front view, a full bed, kitchen with two burner stove & sink, & a cozy couch. Bliss in the heart of the Shawnee National Forest on Interwoven Permaculture Farm, in Lusk Wilderness. Enjoy star gazing, swimming, and campfires. The chorus of nature will lull you at night, & greet you in the morning. It's a beautiful place to wake up! With kitchen, AC/Heater, this is ultimate glamping!!!

The space
The interior is finished in beautiful hand-milled pine, from our land. There is one full size bed, and a small couch. The kitchen has a two burner hot plate, an antique sink, with water provided, Britta Water filter, Basic utensils, can opener, french press coffee maker, toaster, pots and pan, plates, mugs, and such. There is a space heater and electric blanket for those cool nights and mornings, and a fan and window unit AC for the hot days. Beautiful lighting casts a magical glow. It's solar powered by our grid tied farm solar array! Cozy bedding is provided. There's a dining table and chairs, as well. There's no fridge, so you'll want to bring a cooler. There is no toilet inside the bus. We provide a very nice outhouse, with hand-washing sink and water. It's a short walk to the upscale outhouse. There's an outdoor cool-water shower house available for your use....no hot water. The back porch is a great place to relax and stargaze.
The bus overlooks the two acre "Lake Harriet". Swimming, respectful and careful fishing, and enjoyment of the lake is available. There's a swing overlooking the lake, as well. We have an assortment of floaties and a hammock to chill in. Enjoy a campfire in the fire bowl, with firewood provided. Take a hike on the land or nearby in the Shawnee National forest.
This is a working farm... a beautiful and wild permaculture agro-forestry farm paradise here. You may hear/see people around working or enjoying the land, but usually it's pretty private, and you may see no one the entire time. We naturally provide you with space, unless invited to interact, though we may check in and ask you how you are doing if we see you out and about.
We REQUIRE a pre-dark check in. If you cannot arrive before dark, please do not book the space. We're out in the country, under a big dark sky at night. That's one of the best things about this place, but it makes arrival and check-in very challenging at night. That is why we REQUIRE a pre-dark check in.

Guest access
Come down our driveway (watch for our friendly dog who barks and runs by your car, but immediately settles down once she meets you), and pause in front of the barn & honk if you don't see us around. We'll provide guidance. We require a pre-dark check in, and we appreciate working out your ETA with you, so the bus is prepared for your arrival and to make sure we are around when you get here.

Other things to note
First thing to know...This is not a place for people who are uncomfortable with nature!!! The bathroom is an outhouse and a separate cold-water shower house. If you scare at the sight of bugs, dirt, and animals, you should consider accommodations elsewhere. It's a jungle out here...ticks are a real thing. Be prepared for a full nature immersion experience.
Second thing to know... The bus is best suited for up to 2 people who are comfortable together. There's only one bed. We'll have to chat about any additional guests, as "the bed situation" will have to be figured out. We want to make sure everyone is comfortable.
Also....We offer various in-season farm products for sale. Firewood is available for no cost, but we do accept tips for the hard working wood splitter and stacker. We have a very friendly dog, Tulsi, who might bark at you, but she's not a threat. Just act like you know her, and she'll be your bestie.

Neighborhood highlights

Interwoven Farm is near to Garden of the Gods, Lusk Creek Wilderness, Indian Kitchen, Golconda, Eddyville, Burden Falls, Bell Smith Springs, Rim Rock Trail, Millstone Bluff, Warbluff Audobon Sanctuary, Cave-In-Rock, Dixon Springs, Sand Cave and more. You can hike from the site, but most times of year, we recommend sticking to well worn trails off-site. We border Lusk Creek Wilderness area on multiple sides. While we don't recommend hiking in the wilderness, there is a well-marked trail nearby, as well as many hiking trails within a short drive.
The small city of Paducah is a 45-minute drive from the farm. Paducah is brimming with culture, art and activity. The charming old downtown, with its brick streets, awesome foodie scene, distilleries, theater, and shops, offers something for everyone. The Lower Town Arts District, near Old Down Town, is a gallery lovers paradise. The bustling corporate area has all of the ammenities.
The small town of Golconda has some basic ammenities, inculding a small grocery store, a few resturants, and bars.
Harrisburg is about 35 min. drive. They have a Kroger, a movie theater, restaurants, dispensary, cannabis lounge, axe throwing bar, and Walmart.
