Lively loft!

Loft - Private room · Mckibben Street, Brooklyn, NY 11206, United States

The Space

Join us at our beautiful shared duplex in prime East Williamsburg/Bushwick. Located between either the fifth or sixth stops on the L Train from Manhattan, we're only 10-15 minutes from the city! This fast growing community in Brooklyn's industrial district makes for an amazing new, creative sharing environment. Perfect for travelers and with a variety of bars, parties, food and art along the way these lofts are NY at it's best. *Check out the guidebook which I add to every day. As well as Airbnbs:

We have an extra room which is often unoccupied so we like to sublet it every now and then to mingle with travelers and share our space with different parts of the world.

Our common space is huge, bright and the room itself is also a duplex, lofted giving you total floor space away from the bed and lounge area. Cozy, unique and very cute with a full mattress that fits two, you'll definitely enjoy your stay.

There's affordable laundry in the building with elevator access to the machines if needed. The building itself is large and full of life with occasional parties so a completely quiet night cannot be promised especially on weekends.

*Contacting multiple hosts is not necessary if you'd like to stay with us, just have a picture and send a quick greeting with your dates and any questions you may have and I'll get back to you asap

Guest Access

Make yourself at home and feel free to help yourself to use of the living room, kitchen, storing in the fridge, and the two BnB shelves I've assigned that have:
1. Coffee, snacks, granola, pasta, etc.
2. First aid, iron, hairdryer, etc.

I also try to make muffins for the house if I'm home on Sundays, and you're more then welcome to breakfast any day if I am cooking

Interaction with Guests

There are other loft mates but everyone has a private room, ours being on the lower level are seen and unheard from your the dwelling. We are totally available to mingle, outgoing, and friendly but always on the go as I'm sure you will be too. There are also my three very friendly female cats and a turtle who reside in the common area only.

You will be treated as my house guests with towels, soap and fresh bedding provided. You're just expected to lock apartment door when coming and going as well as be respectful of our space and more permanent residents.

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • The host is attentive so that she is around to bring me in the room and patient to explain. I would recommend this room to any interested friends.

  • Kevonne is a charming and helpful host; very reliable, organized and easy going.
The loft hosts a variety of international guests and is in a safe neighborhood close to the subway. Kevonne had subway maps, towels, soap and even a water bottle ready for visitors.

It is very good value for the money and ideal for young travelers.

My only reservation is that the floors were very dirty and the carpet in my room had definitely not been vacuumed for some time. I tend to prefer a cleaner environment. I noticed that the maintenance people in the building were continually spraying and exterminating which is a good thing.

  • Kevonne was such a great host. We had some trouble getting into the city and were late for our check-in, but she was very patient and welcome when we did finally arrive. The neighbourhood is safe and quiet, and the loft is a stone's throw away from the L train to get to Manhattan easily. Her other housemates (and cats!) were so easy to get along with. They gave us great suggestions for what to see and how to get around. The room is very private and quaint, and we always felt welcome to expand out into the main living area - a great space with lots of positive energy. Over-all, we were so glad that we came across this place and these people, and can't wait to visit again!

  • We stayed at Kevonne's place for a week and we had a great time. It's a good place if you are planning to visit the city on restricted budget. The room is small, but cosy and there is a high degree of privacy. The location is very good - 10 minutes ride to Manhattan, it's also close to all Williamsburg spots. And the cats are lovely!

  • Kevonne was amazing! The loft was absolutely perfect, very homey and clean. The cats were so cute & Kevonne went out of her way to make sure we were always comfortable. Its a perfect location, very close to the subway that runs into Manhattan. I can't wait to come back to visit New York, I wouldn't want to stay with anyone else! It was a truly incredible experience!

  • You pay for what you get. We had a low budget but we still wanted to be close to Manhattan, in a safe neighborhood, and we wanted to be around nice people. The flat its a 10/15 min metro ride from the heart of the city, we felt safe walking around and Kevonne and her roommates are very helping and welcoming people. I would only say, if you are a picky or a square person, do not come. We loved our trip and parts of it its cos we felt welcomed at Kevonne's flat.

  • Hi! Me and my friend stayed at Kevonne's for a whole week and had the best time. She's friendly, Always able to give some tips or tell stories and the whole place is relaxed. You can walk in and out whenever you like and have a small but nicely private room. A real, hip-Brooklyn experience!

  • "Lively" was indeed a great word to describe this loft. The price ratio to the level of privacy, fun and sincerity from Kevonne is tremendous. Her cats were really sweet.

The L station isn't too far away to get to point A to B, and there's great restaurants within walking distance. I can't say anything for the laundry as I didn't utilize it, but the other flat mates at the time used it and were satisfied. Overall, I'd go again here. .

  • Right amount of friendliness and privacy. I did my own thing during the day but it was nice to come home to a warm place with friends (other guests) beer and hanging out on the couch.

Real easy going place and the price is right.
