About this listing
Private room set in the hills of a wonderful, airy, light modern home. Views of trees from every room. The room has it's own private patio and a separate bathroom w/ soaking bathtub. Includes breakfast. A restful retreat with very peaceful energy.
On offer is a furnished room in a spacious, secluded "treehouse" South of the Blvd. in Woodland Hills, CA ((the Woodland Hills/Warner Center neighborhood). We call it the "treehouse" because of its beautiful view of trees from every window (Please note: It's NOT actually built on a tree. It is built into the hillside and surrounded by trees).
The home combines the best of a comfy, modern interior with a rustic setting in the hills offering fabulous tree views from every room. It has sweeping high ceilings, and a modern deco style. This home has three bedrooms, 2.5 baths for a total of 2000 sq. ft. It boasts an open floor plan and has been recently remodeled, with stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, a "real" wood-burning fireplace and wood floors throughout. The bedrooms are all on the lower level. There is a massage chair in the Living Room for your relaxation. The patio on the main floor has a grill, and is a favorite morning coffee spot, or dining-by-moonlight space as you gaze out at the trees and stars.
The guest bedroom has its own small deck and entrance. The room has a QUEEN Bed, dresser, closet and TV. There is a private bathroom right next to the room for your exclusive use. There is another room available (the Study - the room with the blue wall in the pictures) for an additional $20 fee per night.
Location! Location! Location! Close to legendary Topanga Canyon, and with easy access to the beach, and Malibu, the home would be a great writer's retreat. It is secluded, with a patio that offers a refreshing treetop view. The "treehouse" is tucked away in the hills for complete privacy. And yet it is just 5 minutes to Ventura Blvd - where Whole Foods, Sprouts and Trader Joe's lie within a couple of blocks in either direction. Ventura also has a lot of restaurants and cafes and the movie theater is just another 5 minutes north. Warner Center is 7-8 mins away. If you go 5 mins west from the "treehouse," you reach Topanga Cyn Road which leads to nearby trails, hikes and State Parks. And if it is the ocean you seek, then a scenic drive through Topanga Cyn will have you there in 22 mins from the house.
This is an LGBTQ-friendly space.

I am a professor at a nearby university. I love living in the "treehouse" because it is peaceful and a lovely space in which to write, read and research. I also love boogie boarding at the beach, which is a scenic 22 minute drive through magical and green Topanga Canyon. I enjoy hosting, as a way to share this beautiful space with people. My energy is calm and easy-going. I strive to balance being welcoming and warm to guests, but also respectful of the guest's privacy while they are here. The treehouse has great energy. I feel very lucky to live here as well as share it with people.
