My cousin Kelly and I have been hosting visitors from all over the world since 2011. Beautiful, modern and minimalistic, our tri-level townhouse is a great place to relax and recharge your batteries after a long day in the hustle and bustle of Hollywood.
The home has hardwood floors throughout, a cozy living-room with 46" TV and Blu-Ray player, gas fireplace, granite countertops, a private washer and dryer for your use and new furniture. Depending on the season, you'll have access to our sustainable urban vegetable garden to make salads, grill vegetables or just snack on mother nature's organic goodness.
What's so 'Zen' about our place? Well, for starters, our house (email hidden)ter you step in the door there will be a place for your outdoor footwear. Inside you can enjoy peace and quiet, if you choose, to meditate, read or rest.
YOUR BEDROOM & BATHROOM
Your private bedroom is on the second floor and has a modern, medium-firm queen size bed which sleeps two comfortably. Your room comes with its own private bathroom, complete with spacious and powerful shower and bathtub. You'll have full use of the walk-in closet as well as a desk that you can use as work space if you'd like.
KITCHEN & BREAKFAST
You'll have full access to our modern kitchen to prepare meals for yourself and, whenever I'm available, it will be my pleasure to cook you a hot breakfast in the morning. Otherwise, cereal, toast and other 'continental breakfast' items will available for you to enjoy (only for stays of 14 days or less).
Our house is on a small, quiet residential street with other houses and apartment buildings. There is a grocery store, 7-Eleven and a few restaurants within walking distance. To take full advantage of all LA has to offer you'll need to be mobile.
NEARBY ATTRACTIONS & DRIVING
By car, our home is an easy 12-minute drive to Hollywood, 19 minutes to downtown, 20 minutes to Griffith Park and 23 minutes to the Beach (Santa Monica Pier), West Hollywood and Beverly Hills. LAX is a 30-minute drive and BUR (Burbank Airport) is just 12 minutes away.
Contrary to popular belief, traffic in LA actually is avoidable and we'll be happy to give you tips on the best times to be on the road. When at home, you'll have access to the garage and a secure, underground parking spot for your vehicle.
Our tri-level townhouse puts you a 7-minute walk from frequent, rapid public transit on the Metro Orange Line, just one stop away from the Los Angeles subway, the Metro Red Line. Universal Studios, is an easy 4-minute subway ride, or continue 4 minutes more and you'll be at the epicenter of all things Hollywood–the Hollywood & Highland entertainment complex. Downtown is just a 25-minute subway journey away and, for the more adventurous, continue on the train all the way to Long Beach!
Whatever your reason for visiting LA, my cousin Kelly and I will help you feel right at home. We look forward to hosting you!

Los dueños de casa (Ryan y Kelly) son muy cálidos y discretos. Siempre dispuestos a dar consejos y sugerencias. La casa corresponde fielmente a la descripción publicada. Muy satisfechos por la estadía.
Coming from Las Vegas, we arrived "Ryan's" in the early evening. Kelly gave us a warm welcome, show us all in the house and asked for our wishes for breakfast. Soon all things could be found in "our" board in the fridge :-). We met Ryan in the next evening, when he was back from a weekend trip and he also welcomes us like friends. He helped us with tickets for the Universal Studios (with discount!) and with information about using bus and metro. We met each other in the 4 days of our stay only for minutes, but it was like being at home with friends, both of them, Kelly and Ryan. Thank you so much again! Whenever you are in germany, let us know. There will alwalys be a place to sleep at our house!
Bed, Room, Bathroom and all that other details of the house were better than described and the fotos! "Better than a hotel!" we said - and thats it!
To all out there: book Ryan at airbnb - it was an amazing time for us in L.A. especcially at Ryan's home!
Marcus & Claudia
Ryan & Kelly are wonderful hosts. They are super friendly, welcoming & make you feel right at home. They offered great advice on places to go & stuff to see. Kelly very kindly took us to the bus station in her car on our first night there - just above & beyond. The place felt like home almost instantly. We even got to know their neighbours a little! Such a great neighbourhood. We really felt that Ryan & Kelly didn't just open their home to us but their hearts as well. They have us so much of their time, just chatting & getting to know us. It was very sad to leave when the time came. The room was beautiful, spacious & comfortable. The walk-in closet is more than enough & the en-suite is beautiful. Ryan has an extremely interesting life story that we were privileged to hear about & Kelly is so generous & easy to get along with. I can't recommend them enough! They are just good people. We are already looking forward to our next trip!
Ryan is really helpful. He gave us free lift, ordered ticket for us…We also experienceed a very unforgetful party with them, where we made our first pizza!! Their room is really nice, modern and tidy. It deserves your choice!!!
My hosts were the best! The listing was exactly as advertised, and the neighborhood was just that; a neighborhood! Easy access to public transportation and excellent for walking (Right Ryan?) I would definitely seek Ryan & Kelly out for a return trip to L.A. Would I recommend them? Yes! (and no) No, because I wouldn't want to share my experience with too many others (they may be booked when I want to stay there!!!) Overall, one of the most comfortable room/bed to have stayed in.
We couldn't have found a more welcoming and relaxing environment to enjoy during our busy stay in LA. Ryan is not only an outing well-rounded person, but also very considerate, mindful and respectful. What really stood out to my sister and I was the cleanliness and care that went into what Ryan turned into our home-away-from-home. We are so grateful to have had an awesome airbnb experience.
First day when we arrived at Ryan's private room, we were amazed by the view of sunset. We chatted happily and told him we would like to take some pics of LA's night scene. It was really nice of him to firstly welcome us to his rooftop and then he recommended an exciting plan and guided us to the Griffith Observatory! In the next few days, he prepared breakfast every morning and if we met in the house, he would always say Hi and ask how things were going~ Now we are back to China and so grateful to our host in the previous three days. We hope to come back in the future and spend more time in LA.
It was my first trip to the Middle East and I was super anxious. I was traveling to Egypt and wanted so badly to find someone who could help me navigate through Cairo. Two days before I flew out, my reservation was confirmed. I felt better about the trip, but now I had new fears. Who was this person? What would my experience be like, would he be open-minded or a muslim extremist? I felt very vulnerable but was willing to face my fears.
My host had offered to pick me up from the airport but when I landed in Cairo there was no sign of him. I waited and waited for almost an hour but still no sign. I tried to use the pay phone to contact him but couldn't figure out how it worked. Finally I came upon a random local who offered to let me borrow his cell phone. My host was stuck in traffic (and now, after having experienced the hours and hours and hours of delay in Cairo traffic, I understand why!).
In the end, my first experience was literally magical. I spent twice the amount of time I had originally planned to spend in Cairo and shared so many amazing, truly open-hearted moments with my host. I even had the chance to meet his mother and sister visiting from Kuwait and his cousin visiting from France. We're still in touch today and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. It is one of the greatest most heart-centered moments of my life.
There's nothing more real or enriching than meeting and staying with locals when you travel.
