We had a great experience staying at Art's place. He was available to answer questions and gave us good advice on managing the Mardi Gras craziness. The apartment was exactly as described, and it was awesome to have snacks and drinks available when we came home from the parades. The location was perfect for us as we were attending a ball at the convention center and it was an easy walk up to Lee's Circle for parade viewing. The bikes came in handy getting around as well - a quick ride up to St. Charles. We were able to park our car right out front and it was an easy drive back to the airport. Overall it was a great experience and we highly recommend staying at Art's place.
Amazing place to stay! Not only was the apartment exactly as described, Art add a few touches of his own; snacks/basic breakfast items, shower supplies, magazines w/what to do, bikes....ect. Art was super nice and helpful. He was VERY quick to respond to any question before and during our stay (even encouraged us to call with any question). Parking was super easy, never a problem finding a spot and right out in front. The neighborhood was quiet. There was easy access to the bus stop (2 blocks), gas station, walmart/grocery stores and freeway entrance. The warehouse district was walking distance (5-10mins) with tons of great restaurants(all types), bars/breweries. You can even walk to the french quarter ( 20-25mins) or you can take the bus or a cab ($7-8). All in all the experience was outstanding!
I was incredibly pleased to arrive at Art's apartment and find that it was exactly as described. It was only a few steps from the convention center, which was ideal for me since this was a work trip. I walked to and from the conference each day. Additionally, his apartment was only steps from a grocery store so I was able to cook my own food which was a huge plus!
The apartment was climate controlled and comfortable! It provided a welcome escape from the conference. The bed was comfortable and I slept VERY VERY well! I am a very light sleeper and find that it is often difficult for me to sleep in a new location. That wasn't a problem AT ALL! Art supplied very nice treats which added an extra layer of hospitality that I haven't experienced at other locations. Entrance to the apartment is safely behind a locked gate, but I had no concerns walking around the neighbourhood at night.
I highly recommend his location if you have a conference at the convention centre.
Art was great as a host and the place was perfect in every way. Great value, great location, loved having access to his bikes and enjoyed the sonos digital music system in the apartment. The apartment was very clean, cozy and well equipt with everything we needed. I highly recommend Art's rental spot.
Art was a terrific host. We got in very late and he was waiting patiently to let us in and show us around. The place was as advertised - clean, unique, and close to the convention center. Art gave us some restaurant recommendations and the phone number to the local cab stand. He also encouraged us to use his bikes. I'm glad we took his advice because we were able to explore so much more of the city because of those bikes. New Orleans is a great city. Staying at Art's place was definitely a big part of our positive experience.
Arts place is full of character and convenience. A short walk to Magazine St and with the memorable address of being located at Race and Religious Streets we felt very at home and comfortable. It is clean and well kept and Art made himself available.
Art was very nice and informative on arrival. The apartment was well laid out and well stocked with household items. The refrigerator had plenty of food; I was impressed. For most visitors to New Orleans who expect to be out late and party, the venue next door would not be an issue, but I was attending a meeting at the convention center and both nights there were weddings. The band did stop playing at 10:30 or 11:00, so for most people, they would never be bothered. The one significant drawback to the apartment was the fact that a streetlight is directly outside the bedroom window. The room never gets dark, which made it hard for me to sleep. This would easily be remedied by a room-darkening shade, a benefit also for late night partiers who try to sleep during the day.
