Baan Oasis is a quiet relaxing place in the beautiful Mae Wang Valley. The house has a warm feeling through the use of teak wood and Thai textiles.
Enjoy sitting in the sala watching the sun-set with a nice cool drink and mountains in the distance.
Front of our country house with water feature where local native fishes enjoy their day
The teak-and-stone house (baan in Thai) resembles a large country house somewhere in Europe, with high-ceilings throughout, a large open-plan dining and living area, with wide doors that open out on to a spacious veranda.
Drive south from charming Chiang Mai for some 30 kilometers and you come to this spacious retreat in the green and fertile Mae Wang Valley
A big western kitchen, a large master bedroom with en-suite bathroom, a second double bedroom, one single bedroom and the main bathroom with a rain shower complete this spacious and well-provided oasis.
All bedrooms are fitted with air-conditioners,fans and mosquito netting.
The house comfortably accommodates five people.
Local fish swim free in the pond for you to feed them or easily catch on a line lazily dangled from the cool Thai-style teak sala.
Peace reigns at this place, and the evenings and mornings are cool as you sit on the large veranda overlooking the pond. There is a wide panorama of the distant mountains to the west in the direction of the northwestern border town of Mae Hong Son and forested Myanmar that lay just beyond those picturesque peaks.
Guest will have the entire house for themselves.
Interaction with Guests
We don't stay at the property if guest book the house. Interaction depends on the wishes and needs of the guest. We are always reachable if needed.
Our property is a quiet place with only one direct neighbor. Guest can have a relaxing time on the veranda, watching the sun set from the Thai-sala with a cool drink.
Our village Baan Gard village with an everyday fresh market, Lotus express, 7/11, many small Thai shops and eating places. It has also a nice coffee corner, ATM's and a bank.
Guest can take the yellow bus from the village to the Chiang Mai Gate (old city of Chiang Mai) for the price of 25 bath one way. The journey takes about 40 minutes.
Other Things to Note
There is a large collection of DVD's which can be watched on the flat screen TV in the living area.
It is Thai custom to take one's shoes off when entering the house. I would like my guests to do the same.
Our home is a non- smoking environment but there is plenty of space outside for smokers.
We loved our stay at this gem of a house in the country. Mechthild was wonderful throughout our experience. She answered my emails promptly, met us and showed us around the property, left some arrival treats in the fridge for us and was available if we had any questions during our stay but left us in peace to enjoy her wonderful accommodation. Our 2 year old son absolutely loved being in the countryside and made 2 close companions in some neighbourhood dogs who would pop by daily, the most patient and lovely dogs. We would recommend this place to any friends and hope to come back ourselves. We loved cooking meals in the well equipped and beautiful kitchen and enjoying them out on the patio.
The description says it all - the house truly is a lovely oasis. We stayed over Christmas 2013 (two adults, two kids aged 8 and 6) and all four of us loved the house. It's comfortable, quiet, has lovely outdoor space for eating or relaxing, all the facilities you need including wifi and extremely comfortable beds!
Mechtild, the owner, met us on arrival and showed us how everything worked. There was plenty of food in the fridge, fresh bread and some delicious home made biscuits as well.
We could not have had nicer accommodation - it was just perfect for us.
The reservation was canceled 57 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
