Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • Five Stars +. I decided last minute to go to Queenstown and had made no arrangements for a hotel. I went online and asked to stay with Peter-Ray right before I hopped on the plane and I had a great apartment overlooking the Remarkables at Peter's place by the time the plane landed. In other words, I lucked out finding this cozy, clean, new, convenient place all to myself. I'm a pretty independent traveler and having this private apartment to come and go from as I pleased was perfect. The hosts couldn't be sweeter and immediately welcomed me into their home, offered me a glass of wine, and were helpful with helping me plan a great trip to Queenstown. Enough said--this place was awesome!

  • Peter-Ray's place is modern, comfortable and is situated in one of the most stunning cities in the country. You must enjoy the mountain views from his deck. He's got a wonderful family who treated me to a delicious glass of wine.

  • Our stay in Queenstown was perfect! Peter-Ray was very friendly and gave us some great tips on what to do around town. The room was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Would definitely stay there again in the future.

  • l arrived at Driftwood studio to be greeted by the very warm and friendly host, Peter-Ray.

He and his family were only too happy to share their home, and balcony which had wonderful views overlooking the beautiful lake of Queenstown.

The fully self-contained studio was well appointed, with all the mod-cons, and kept in immaculate condition, catering for all a traveller's needs.

lts located about 30 minutes scenic walk from the town centre, with access to a bus stop closeby as well, if you are without car as l was.

l'd like to thank Peter-Ray and his family for their generous hospitality, and helping my visit to Queenstown be an enjoyable and memorable experience.

l would therefore not hesitate in recommending this accommodation to other travellers.

  • Excellent private accommodations at a great value for Queenstown! Superb hospitality as well. Location is also a quick drive into downtown and an easy walk to local trails. Five stars all the way!

  • We have loved our time in Queenstown, and this has been in no small part, due to the excellent facilities and location on offer here in this apartment. Queenstown, is truly the adventure capital of the world, and it is hard to see how you could be bored here. There are many good restaurants, great night-life with live bands in lots of the bars each night, excellent street entertainers and generally just a friendly vibe around the whole town. It is a great little apartment, perfect for two people, clean, modern and with all facilities as described. The hosts Peter-Ray and Li Ying, were tremendously helpful, and invited us for a lovely family meal during our time here. The apartment is situated about 2 miles or 30 minute walk from Queenstown. Access to the Frankton Track & Queenstown Trail is via the Rees Hotel, (just across the main road), which provide excellent walking and cycling routes either in to Queenstown, or to Frankton, Arrowtown, Gibbston and Jack's Point. Public transport in the Queenstown area is excellent, with buses every 20 minutes during the day. The No. 11 bus stop is 5 minutes walk, from the apartment, and goes either to Queenstown, or to the airport and Remarkable's Shopping Centre. Would definitely book this apartment again.

  • My boyfriend and I spent 11 nights at Peter-Ray and Li-Ying's self contained apartment. They were easy to get along with and easy to communicate with from the outset. Peter-Ray went out of his way to pick us up from the airport and give us tips about Queenstown. They invited us down to the main house for a wine several times and even invited us over for dinner for an authentic Indonesian meal along with two other Irish guests.

The apartment has everything you need but the kitchen is a quite contained with a microwave and hotplates which meant that we ate out a lot. The house is on the top of a hill which was excellent for us as it meant that we worked off some of our indulgences however if you have trouble walking up hills (500m or so) then this might be a little difficult.

Peter-Ray, Li-Ying and their son Justin-Lee are wonderful people, great company and excellent hosts. I would recommend their place many times over.

  • Can't imagine a better Airbnb stay: host, location, accommodation - whole package! The place was as described. Peter was friendly, accommodating, and a wealth of local info and recommendations. We wouldn't have done the Dart River trip without his recommendation, which turned out to be the highlight of our time in the Queenstown area! Thanks, Peter!
