I have even been known to go off chasing those elusive Hobbits...

**STOP PRESS** Summers HERE....Where are you???
Greta spacious & clean apartment at a fantastic location on the lake close to the city centre. Peter Ray and his wife were very kind, fantastic and helpfull hosts. We look forward to be back there one day, as there is so much to do and see around Queenstown.
These guys were so lovely! Accommodation was just awesome. Home away from home
Excellent private accommodations at a great value for Queenstown! Superb hospitality as well. Location is also a quick drive into downtown and an easy walk to local trails. Five stars all the way!
We have loved our time in Queenstown, and this has been in no small part, due to the excellent facilities and location on offer here in this apartment. Queenstown, is truly the adventure capital of the world, and it is hard to see how you could be bored here. There are many good restaurants, great night-life with live bands in lots of the bars each night, excellent street entertainers and generally just a friendly vibe around the whole town. It is a great little apartment, perfect for two people, clean, modern and with all facilities as described. The hosts Peter-Ray and Li Ying, were tremendously helpful, and invited us for a lovely family meal during our time here. The apartment is situated about 2 miles or 30 minute walk from Queenstown. Access to the Frankton Track & Queenstown Trail is via the Rees Hotel, (just across the main road), which provide excellent walking and cycling routes either in to Queenstown, or to Frankton, Arrowtown, Gibbston and Jack's Point. Public transport in the Queenstown area is excellent, with buses every 20 minutes during the day. The No. 11 bus stop is 5 minutes walk, from the apartment, and goes either to Queenstown, or to the airport and Remarkable's Shopping Centre. Would definitely book this apartment again.
My boyfriend and I spent 11 nights at Peter-Ray and Li-Ying's self contained apartment. They were easy to get along with and easy to communicate with from the outset. Peter-Ray went out of his way to pick us up from the airport and give us tips about Queenstown. They invited us down to the main house for a wine several times and even invited us over for dinner for an authentic Indonesian meal along with two other Irish guests.
The apartment has everything you need but the kitchen is a quite contained with a microwave and hotplates which meant that we ate out a lot. The house is on the top of a hill which was excellent for us as it meant that we worked off some of our indulgences however if you have trouble walking up hills (500m or so) then this might be a little difficult.
Peter-Ray, Li-Ying and their son Justin-Lee are wonderful people, great company and excellent hosts. I would recommend their place many times over.
Can't imagine a better Airbnb stay: host, location, accommodation - whole package! The place was as described. Peter was friendly, accommodating, and a wealth of local info and recommendations. We wouldn't have done the Dart River trip without his recommendation, which turned out to be the highlight of our time in the Queenstown area! Thanks, Peter!
I had a wonderful stay with Peter-Ray and his family. Spent Christmas with them and was treated to awesome ham, great dessert, and even received a surprise xmas gift! (which were things that they really didnt have to do, but did anyway). Be warned that little Justin, their son, is a fireball of energy and that visitors may need to pack on some Redbull to keep up with his superhero antics. i know i did.
The view from their living room balcony is truly breath-taking and their openness as a family is very heart-warming. Their home is situated on a hill that captures the area's magnificent landscapes of the lake and mountains around. I enjoyed the scenic 30 min trek into town from their home (ask Peter-Ray about it) and would recommend this stay to anyone stopping by Queenstown.
Lovely Last couple of days in Queenstown after a wonderful 2 weeks holiday.. Driftwood studio is nice & clean & cosy. Thank you .
Peter-Ray and Li Ying were very warm and welcoming. They were attentive and gracious hosts. They truly exemplify "kiwi" hospitality. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this charming city and hope to return.
