Enjoy a tasteful, Craftsman home located on the Mississippi River, with easy access to the University, Downtown, light rail transportation, and public trails and waterways!
Whether you are traveling alone, as a couple, with children, or with a friend, we can accommodate your stay. We offer a guest suite that includes a larger bedroom for two, a very small bedroom for one, and an adjoining private bath. The listing is for the main guest bedroom. If you'd also like to book the smaller room, we will add $20 per night (using the "special rate" airbnb tool).
Our home is a lovely Craftsman bungalow looking out on the Mississippi River valley. Rooms are characterized by eclectic vintage decor and original woodwork and fixtures. The larger bedroom has a very comfortable queen-size bed, ample closet/storage room, and a desk (wi-fi is available). The smaller room has a pullout single bed. The two bedrooms are separated by a full bath with a large tub/shower. Linens are 100% cotton. In the winter, the bed is made with flannel linens and a down comforter.
We love making breakfast, and weekends usually involve free-range eggs, sustainably-farmed bacon or sausage, fresh fruit, and often fresh-baked treats. We are also happy to accommodate your dietary preferences/needs (vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, dairy-free. etc.) Weekday breakfasts may be comprised of simpler fare: bagels, yogurt, fruit, granola. We shop almost exclusively at a natural foods coop, so our ingredients are always wholesome, often organic, and local when possible.
Guests are welcome to use our living and dining areas. Breakfast is served in the dining room. In the winter months, there is always a fire burning in our living room. In warmer months, guests can also enjoy our gardens, back deck, enclosed front porch, stone patio, and the open parkland across the street. Please note that we have cats who tend to befriend our guests! If you are allergic to cats, this may not be the best fit for you. Guests can also feel free to store items in our fridge and they may use our kitchen for simple food prep.
We can loan you bicycles (including a tandem if you come as a pair). On that point: Bicycle brethren, we are listed on the (website hidden) touring site and have hosted a number of bicycle tourers. If you are passing through town on two wheels, then you can stay for free.

Let Andrew know if you would like an intro to the stereo so you listen to the radio or plug in a device. There are separate speaker speaker zones in the small bedroom, kitchen, living/dining and porch.
Thank you thank you thank you to Andrew & Christine for making our trip so pleasant. Your listing is accurately presented (for those not familiar with Mnpls, their home is located with easy access to "The Cities" and a great neighborhood as well - it is a gem). Your attention to detail and home atmosphere you provide/have is something my wife and I truly appreciate. Perfect for us.
We loved staying at this beautiful home! It is located in a very beautiful, quiet neighborhood right by the river. The bed was wonderfully comfy and the breakfast was delicious! We highly recommend this location if you are traveling to Mpls!
Andrew and Christine were incredibly friendly and helpful. They helped me with directions, allowed me to borrow a bike, and provided a great breakfast every morning. Excellent hosts in a good location.
The listing description was completely accurate! The historic home is located on the bank of the Mississippi river and is just minutes from downtown Minneapolis. We had a bedroom and private bath suite that was neat and clean. Andrew and Christine were great hosts. Christine had breakfast for us each morning, with homemade pumpkin bread the second morning! The neighborhood was completely safe-I ran the riverfront trail early in the morning. Christine and Andrew were a wealth of information about the house, the neighborhood, and Minneapolis.
We had a delightful stay. Christine and Andrew were very friendly and welcoming. Their house is beautiful, and the guest space allows for some privacy.
Andrew and Christine had a beautiful place in a leafy neighborhood. They were both very kind hosts and their place had lots of character. The location was great with a Nice Ride station a few blocks away and it was right on the river for a morning run. Did I mention they made me the most incredible breakfast of all time. Thank you thank you.
Lovely neighborhood, comfy bed and delightful hostess. Everything was as described. Breakfast was healthy and coffee was good and strong.
I (Andrew) am a native Minnesotan and Christine is a transplant from Virginia who has been in Minneapolis almost long enough (20ish years) to count as local.
