It is located in a quiet area despite being in the heart of Trastevere.
Just outside the apartment block is Piazza San Cosimato where there is a large fruit and vegetable market every morning except Sundays. Here you will find not only fruit and vegetable stalls, but also cheeses, flowers, various other edible products such as olives, nuts, bread, pizza, and on and on. On Sunday mornings the famous Roman flee market Porta Portese is literally five minutes walk away. Here there are some real antiques, bric-a-brac, new and old clothes, and oddities of all sorts.
Piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere is the most popular gathering place in the area. In this square you will find the church Santa Maria in Trastevere, one of the oldest and most beautiful churches in Rome and very much worth a visit. The neighbouring streets have a variety of stores, restaurants, and service-oriented businesses as well as beautiful residences.
Equidistant from the Coliseum and the Vatican, Trastevere is the ideal place to discover the secrets of Rome on foot. Saint Peter's and the Vatican are about twenty minutes away and upon crossing the Tiber you get to Campo dei Fiori, Piazza Navona, the Spanish Steps, the Roman Forum, and many other sights in no time at all. If you want to take public transportation, the area is extremely well served by the tram and the electric buses of Rome.

We had a wonderful stay at Maria's apartment. The apartment was comfortable, spacious and immaculately clean. It's located on a quiet street, but if you walk a couple blocks you're in the heart of the Trastevere. We really enjoyed exploring the neighborhood and checking out the fun restaurants and bars at night. We'll be back again!
This is a large, beautiful apartment in Trastevere away from the tourist crowds--a fantastic area that really blossoms at night. The travel guide provided was very useful, and we had our best meal in Rome at one of Maria's recommendations, Osteria da Zi Mberto.
This was by far one of the best AirBNB experiences I have ever had. Perfect location, perfect apartment, and perfect host. Maria even went out and purchased laundry soap for us to use while there. We loved wondering around this neighborhood and enjoying the fun bars and restaurants. However the best part of this stay came right after the booking. Maria emailed me 2 guides about transportation and sightseeing in the area which made trip planning seamless. They were even better then our lonely planet guide! Next time I am in Rome I want to stay at the Fab Apartment. Thank you Maria for you amazing communication and hospitality!
We had a lovely stay at the Luxury fab apartment in Rome.Maria was an excellent host and met us there herself after a delayed flight. The driver she arranged for us from the airport was excellent too.The apartment itself was spotlessly clean and just as (website hidden) was in a good area within walking distance of all the major sights. Also close to some nice restaurants and bars.Would definitely recommend to anyone!Luxury and Fab is a very good description.
We were met by Maria's housekeeper who was very nice. She got us settled in and made good recommendations for places to eat. The apartment itself is really nice and neat and has everything you would need. It looks exactly as pictured.
The location is perfect, in a quiet mostly residential area. It's pretty much in between Vatican city and the Colosseum, so if you like to walk then you can get anywhere by foot. If not, Maria provides extensive information in the apartment on all forms of transportation (including the tram, which stops close to her door). Be sure to look at the booklet she put together because there's lots of helpful information.
We had the best pizza ever just right in front of the building (open only for dinner) next to the tobacco shop. Sorry but I can't remember the name.
Although we would like to have met Maria in person, she made sure everything was taken care of and was easily reached by email.
We had a wonderful time in Rome and Maria's apartment was perfect for our stay. I would definitely recommend her apartment!
Maria's apartment is fantastic! We had a great stay, it was clean and as described. The suggested restaurants and activities enhanced our stay. Thank you for the great hospitality!

About the Host, Maria
I believe that travelling has the power to heal, energize and improve the world, and I’m proud to be a part of this community.
I was born in Rome and raised in Pompeii as both my parents are archaeologists.
I moved back to Rome 15 years ago. My interests are travels, food, photography, foreign languages and my favorite hobby is home design and interior decorating, I enjoy anything creative!
I love Italian, Japanese, Russian and Greek food, I also like to cook.
Travel is definitely my biggest passion and it has taken me and my long time boyfriend Federico to about twenty countries along the five continents.
When I travel, I look for places that are not ultra touristy. I want to experience the restaurants and bars that the locals know and love.
I'm hoping that you seek the same. I can recommend some really cool places and things to see/eat/do if you'd like.
I absolutely love Rome and I am the biggest ambassador for it. I love to welcome people from all over the world to this great city so they can share the love that I have for it as well!
I've had some amazing people from all over the world stay at my place and look forward to hosting you.
See you soon in Rome!
