Poderaccio farm is nestled in the hills between Chianti and Valdarno Superiore, just half an hour from Florence. The guest house is a 18th century farmhouse divided into 4 apartments renewed in 2012 using greebuilding materials.
We only use renewable energy: the wood gives us heating, the sun provides us with hot water and the energy necessary to satisfy the house needs. We are under the standards of Eco- Bio Tourism and all the food products are certified organic. We cultivate the land according to the organic agriculture criteria, maintaining its fertility, enhancing its biodiversity.
The “Focolare” apartment is the bigger, is for 4 persons, it has a kitchen with the old fireplace, 2 big bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, internet connection. One more bed can be added with an extra charge of 15 euro per night . The apartment has different prices for different seasons (low - peak season) starting from 70 euro up to 100 euro per night per apartment . A discount of 20% is applied for a stay of a week. Price includes VAT, tourist tax, bed linen and towels with weekly change, water, gas, electricity, heating, wood for the fire, cable internet in the apartment and WiFi outside, final cleaning.
The apartment is equipped with all you need to cook including salt, sugar, tee and coffee.
In case you don’ feel like preparing food there are many good and also cheap restaurants near us. Most of them serve the real Tuscan food, you should try the typical Tbone steak “Fiorentina” if you eat meat or the “Ribollita” soup if you are vegetarian..
On demand (NOT included in the price) we can provide you with a basket with our or local organic products for breakfast: homemade bread, homemade jam, honey, yogurt, fresh fruit, and milk.
Florence, is just 27 Km from us, Arezzo, Pisa, Lucca, Siena, San Gimignano are close as well and all reachable in a day trip.
Don’t miss a visit to the old Vallombrosa Abbey and a walk in its woods; hang around Chianti for wine tasting and get lost in its small gorgeous villages and castles surrounded by Medieval walls (Panzano, Castellina etc...)!
Walkers can discover many trekking paths on the surrounding hills and they’ll be surprised of the wild animals they may meet walking at night or early in the morning … of course you can just relax in a hammock under the fig tree.
A car is needed since nearest shops and restaurants are at 7 km from here but in anycase we help hosts who don't want to rent a car , we offer free lifts from/to the nearest train station and stores accordingly to our works in the fields.

Francesca's beautiful organic farm entertained my family for 4 days in May. The setting is relaxing and a great place to unwind as you're in the middle of the Tuscan hills.
Francesca is a wonderful host who provided us with a delicious organic box of food. The strawberry jam and the honey was out of this world.
I thoroughly recommend that you experience this farm as it's been a wonderful adventure and if you have young children then this is a great place for them. Our daughter loved Birra the dog.
Beautiful farm house apartment. And friendly hosts with delicious produce for sale too. Historically renovated and exactly as pictures describe. Everything you need, including lovely toiletries and all kitchen/bathroom/bedroom requirements and cooking oils & spices! Very relaxing and definitely a great place to stay in Tuscany, with easy reach to Florence.
Wow... What a great destination and home base! The apartment is great, the location is gorgeous .... The hosts including dog and extra cute daughter are so welcoming. Francesca arranged a cooking class to go to which was fun and she even joined us! I will tell my friends about this place as I describe our wonderful trip to Italy!
We really debated whether we should stay here or stay in Florence. We are extremely happy we stayed at Francesca's home in Tuscany. Yes, it meant a bit more traveling back and forth but it was a great taste of Tuscany. Francesca and Francesco were fantastic hosts. We came in later than planned and Francesca made sure we had what we needed to start our trip off right. Wine, chese, and homemade sauce with pasta make an excellent first meal. In fact, their homemade wine was better than any other wine we had in Italy. The farm and house were beautiful. The pictures don't do it justice. My only regret was not having more time to spend at the farm. I highly recommend this location for families and anyone looking for an authentic tuscan experience.
This was such a great experience! Francesca, Francesco, and Stella were so warm and welcoming! They made us delicious Italian treats, shared their home for Easter, and gave us amazing local travel recommendations. This was such a wonderful week and I cannot thank them enough. I highly recommend this listing to anyone (with a car!) and hope to visit again.
Gerne wieder!
OMG! Love love love. If you want to experience the Tuscany countryside stay here. The house is so authentic. Francesca was so accommodating she couldn't be nicer. It was more than expected the house is beautiful.

About the Host, Francesca
I would like to welcome you at my farm.
Taking care of a piece of land is for me an act of love for all that surrounds me: soil, water, plants, animals, people. It sums up everything I’ve ever been looking for in my life up until today and at the same time it represents the essentiality . I travelled the world and now that I’ve finally taken root, I would like the world come here to enjoy the comfort that the contact with the nature inevitably brings sharing an extraordinary luxury: enjoying the simple things in life. The forceful call of the land involves physical and mental work but, at the same time , in the evening, when I lie down with legs and back aching, it gives me a sense of harmony and contentment .
Come to visit me at Poderaccio you can see the marvellous place where I live and work!
