We had a lovely stay at the accommodation. It was easy to find and although a bit of a hike up the mentioned steps... The views were INCREDIBLE and worth a bit of effort! The accommodation was clean and comfortable with beautiful views over Vernazza (if you look down over the terrace, you can see people on the hiking trail all stop on the steps below to take photos - you wake up and go to bed looking out onto that view!). The accommodation is very small but perfectly good for resting and showering. There is obviously no air con and the room does get very hot. There is a plug in fan and mosquito nets on the windows, so they really have done everything they can to make it cooler - sleeping with the windows open, fan on and door open (if you don't care about mosquitoes) is pretty much essential. However, in fairness we travelled at the hottest part of the year too! All in all, we felt the apartment was worth the odd niggle because we wanted the stunning views and the special feeling of being 'away from it all'.
Unfortunately, we have been pretty disappointed by our stay at the Andrea's room. We were very confident because according to all comments, this place seemed very good.
Obviosly, the view is absolutely amazing and the terrace is a perfect place to enjoy it. Besides, the room is located on the path to Corniglia and near the center of the village where the one for Monterosso starts. The room is clean and Well equiped.
However, as mentioned several times in others comments, the room is very very tiny, more than What the photos show, and extremely hot on summer even with the fan and the door open. We couldn't almost sleep and after a Walking day, it could be difficult. And always according to what we have read in the comments, we have been surprised because in our case, Andrea has never spoken with us expected by email before our arrival. He was certainly too busy at his restaurant because it's the high season but it would have be nice to discuss with him about the Cinque Terre.
For a short stay, it's a nice place if You are not afraid about the climb to reach it but for more, it's too tiny in our opinion. And maybe the place is more comfortable in others seasons than summer.
Loved it! Amazing location, great views, great outdoor space. Lots of steps, and the bedroom is a bit small, but what else would you expect for a house built into the side of a cliff? Super easy check in/check out. Would definitely stay there again.
Hi Andrea and everyone,
Andrea is very friendly and helpful person and host. He helped me to find a good parking lot in La Spezia and welcomed us with two bottle of water after climbing all the steps under very hot sun. I was exhausted and angry. We had a chat.
Vernezza is so beautiful and you're looking at to this beauty when you stay in his place. My tiredness and anger is gone when I sat down and watched the view.
Do not come to this place with a big luggage, because you will take so many steps. You can not cook but there is a small fridge. A small fun, hair-dryer and some more basics. The room and shower are clean but very small which is ok for a short stay.
The terrace needs an umbrella against the sun to be able to sit outside during the day.
Vernezza and Monterosso are the best villages to swim among five villages of Cinque Terre.
Thank you very much Andrea. I hope you had a nice anniversary with your wife.
What a gorgeous little nook at the very top of Vernazza! This clean, tiny-but-functional option for the no fuss traveling couple is perfect for romantic nights drinking Cinque Terre wine on the incredible terrace while watching the sun go down. Best place to stay for the views alone, in our opinion. Our host, Andreas is very nice and was quick to respond to anything we needed. Although it is far above the town, it is right on the walking trail to the other twins, so quite convenient. We felt very safe up there too, as the gates can be locked and there are several lamps and spotlights, as well as a storage locker if you need it. Nice touch was an outdoor sink and large laundry hang, which came in handy ! His family owns the restaurant "La Terre", just below the suite, and there we drank the best mojitos ever while taking in the breathtaking sea view. Fresh lemon and mint came straight from their garden. If you're fairly fit and don't have a lot of luggage, stay here!
The view from our place was spectacular. Inside there is not much extra room, but there is a lot of outdoor space with a large canopy for shade as well. It's the Cinque Terre so you won't spend much time indoors anyways. It is a lot of steps to get therethere so make sure you pack light or check your bags to at the train station. Easy check in at the family restaurant just a few steps away.
