The Space

This house was built two years ago, by Ketut and his family its a fully private, renovated two storey house, overlooks the pristine Rice Fields of Penestanan only 10 minute drive from central Ubud.
Decorated with beautiful wood furniture, double bed on the top floor, wardrobe, small table and a balcony to watch the sunsets.

We are renting the whole house (not just a room) and the swimming pool with it fully private and only for the house guest.
This is place for those looking to disconnect, to get their creative flow running, a place for lovers of Nature and want to be close to it.
Downstairs has a day bed for for one more person, either an adult or a child.
A large dining table with bench seating.
A fully equipped kitchen.
An outdoor shower and an enclosed separate bathroom is to be found downstairs.
With a porch outside and a plunge pool in the garden.
The House has no immediate neighbours giving it nice privacy but yet close to Ubud center, Penestanan hub, where you can get all you need, restaurants, cafes, local shops and the larger super market and Sayan Terraces by Ayung River.
Feel free to contact me for more information about the house.

There is not really an official public transport to Ubud, best is to rent wheels (scooter, bicycle or a car) if you frequently want to visit Ubud. Or ask Ketut to arrange a Taxi. (around 5 USD to town) If you are a keen walker Ubud is about 30-40 min walk away. Penestanan is the nearest neighbourhood, only 10 min walk from the house.

  • The villa was a nice place to stay, it is in a very quiet area but still close to the centre of ibid, the owner who lives close by was very helpful. The pool was beautiful. I look forward to returning there.

  • My wife and I are on our way home from staying for Christmas at the Andrea’s Ubud Rice Field Villa hosted by Ketut and his family. The villa is private and in a beautiful location with astounding views of rice fields and one of the volcanoes. When we first arrived we both gasped. It is a large property for a couple with a walled garden surrounding the pool that has a coconut tree and flowering plants. The pool is constantly filtered and cleaned daily, there are lights at night above and below so those late night dips under the stars are really romantic. The location is in Sayan, 10 minutes’ drive from Ubud and 5 minutes’ walk from Panestanan through the field. There is a local shop and temple but nothing else nearby. Closest hotel is the Mansion.

We had a wonderful time and feel privileged to be able to stay here. It was perfect for our honeymoon where we wanted to spend private time together and visit the local sights as well as Lake Bratan etc. easily doable in a day trip. Thanks to Ketut and his family for making the stay comfortable and great fun.

  • Andrea was very helpful for any information about the reservation. Ketut was a great host for our staying. His father also helped us while Ketut was going out.

The location is peaceful and quiet in natural area. Ketut and his family live near the house, so it's safe enough. We really enjoyed swimming in the pool and relaxing in the yard !

Thank you very much, Andrea and Ketut !

  • We truly enjoyed for two weeks. The villa is surrounded by beautiful, peacefull rice fields and the scenery was exactly what we wished for. Ketut speaks fluent English and very nice and helpful host. Our daughter was happy becoming friends with Ketut's and his familys' children.

  • I stayed here for 5 mights with my girlfriend and we were very happy with the villa. What we loved: amazing natural scenery, easy access to ubud, Ketut (the owner) is extremely helpful, friendly and accomodating, the pool is great. We highly recommend this villa for anyone looking for a relaxing retreat off the beaten path but still in the Ubud area.

Things to know: you will need a scooter to get to Ubud, approximately a 15 minute ride (Ketut will help arrange this), it is in a small local neighborhood so you will see/hear some of the neighbors coming and going but they are all very friendly and will smile and say hello.

  • We had a great time! Everything was as described: the house is comfortable, the pool is great, and the views of the rice paddy were precisely what we came for.

The upstairs bedroom is large and neatly appointed. The kitchen is snug, but very functional for us. There is an extra day bed downstairs that accommodates an adult very comfortably, if need be. We spent plenty of time lounging in/by the pool. The bathroom is very nice - I liked the outdoor shower.

The wireless internet was fast and reliable. I was pleasantly surprised!

Ketut (our host) helped us find the warung (little grocery store) and was very generous with tips and his time. He is a very good host.

Ketut's brother met us at the airport to pick us up, and that made life easy for us (this service cost a bit extra, but was definitely worth it).

Overall - a terrific experience. Would not hesitate to stay there again.

About
Hi my name is Andréa Drottholm. I live in Bali, Indonesia. Ketut is the owner of the Ubud Rice field view house, he is a Balinese friend who has little knowledge (next to none) about internet, hence makes it hard for him to advertise outside Ubud, so volunteered to help him out as this is something I have done for the past 10 years, running my holiday letting agency in Barcelona. I simply take care of reservations, and once you arrive to Ubud you are in great care of very capable and friendly host Ketut. Ketut has worked on cruise ships for many years and has vast experience in customer service. We are renting out a place for those looking to disconnect, to get their creative flow running, a place for lovers of Nature and want to be close to it. So far no one has been disapointed.
