Thank you for your feedback Lynn, indeed this place calls for people who likes to be out of Ubud, and away from it all, and true enough a bit tricky to find in the beginning, and unfourtanatly not on (website hidden) map. Your comments will be take to heart and passed on to Ketut to do all he can to keep the place up to the standard it needs to be. Kind Regards Andrea

Thank you for your valuable feedback Lee. The insects you mention are termites which you find at night all over the island and colonise any lit area, they fly in and shortly after die, can seem like something out of scary movie, but its nature having its go.
Power cuts do happen in Bali on a semi regular basis, perhaps not as long as a whole night.
I will make sure Ketut gets the mozzy net replaced.
Rats yes they live in the fields and are another part of nature as much as we try to not let them in to the house they find their own ways, this is what happens when you live close to nature and we actually invade their space.
This place is not for city people who are not used to live close to what is natural habitat, insects, snakes, rats, mise and other creatures are all part of living in Bali.

Good point taken about the stairs which I should add into the description.
again thank you for your suggestions and feedback, I do hope thought that you managed to enjoy some of your stay despite.
