If you are a light sleeper you might want to be made aware that Roosters are a common property of each house in Bali, and these tend to make noise at the early hours of the morning, you might want to carry earplugs with you.
They are not part of Ketuts house but rather the nearby houses.
Feel free to contact me for more information about the house.
There is not really an official public transport to Ubud, best is to rent wheels (scooter, bicycle or a car) if you frequently want to visit Ubud. Or ask Ketut to arrange a Taxi. (around 5 USD to town) If you are a keen walker Ubud is about 30-40 min walk away. Penestanan is the nearest neighbourhood, only 10 min walk from the house.

The house is private with walls around it
We rent the house not the rooms!

Ketut was a very nice host! He helped for anything we asked! The house is perfect for a maximum of 3 persons! We enjoyed the swimming pool.
We definitely recommend his house!

Endroit à recommander pour un court séjour sur Ubud
I fell in love with this place before I even got there. The pool is so tranquil with butterflies, lizards, and birds visiting it daily. Each morning, I awakened to the sounds of nature, with a gorgeous view from the canopy bed overlooking the rice fields. The family that owns the home became my family. I stayed there for a month. Each day one of the members brought by beautiful offerings of flower, incense and rice left at the temple and the foot of the tree. They rode me into Ubud on their motorbikes; they offered me food, and coffee. They talked to me and smiled at me, and made me feel so welcome. The house was cleaned every other day, with fresh towels left. One night, I finally figured out how the exterior lights were on each night when I returned home. It seems that the daughter comes in at dusk to turn them on. They are all so kind and generous of spirit. There is a shower connected to the bathroom. It doesn't have roof over that area and at night you can shower while looking up at the moon. There is another shower connected to the tub inside, but taking a shower while moon gazing is too much to pass up. The stairs to go upstairs are steep, but I looked at it as a good backside exercise. The Internet is spotty, but Ketut the owner will call the government to have it fixed. Internet is spotty in all of Bali so it is not a reason to look somewhere else. This place is outside of Ubud. Looking for a place to rejuvenate and relax, while being among locals in a serene setting, this is your place. This place became my home. Ketut and his family became my family. I WILL be back.
Beautiful little house with a nice pool and views of the the rice fields. Just off a main road but feels like you're out in nature with roosters crowing, frogs croaking etc. we arranged to be picked up at the airport which worked well. Cheaply rented a motorbike from Ketut. Really enjoyed our stay there.
The rice field house was absolutely great. Beautiful house, very private, amazing view. The host was very helpful and nice. Everything was perfect. I'll definitely stay there next time we are in Ubud.
Ketut and his family were sweet, kind, lovely hosts. The house itself was nice, the outdoor spaces and pool especially, though as other reviewers have noted, the kitchen and bathroom were very "rustic", in need of an upgrade, and did not match up to the niceness of the rest of the house. We chose to stay in an Airbnb specifically for the option of having a kitchen to cook our own meals in, but we found the kitchen to be a bit dirty and all of the cooking supplies were very old and a bit dirty as well--we ended up eating out most of the time. So for those looking to cook and enjoy having a kitchen, this is not the best place.
Again, the outdoor spaces were wonderful and the rural setting is beautiful, it was nice to be away from busy Ubud. There is not much nearby in terms of restaurants/amenities, so be prepared to have your own transportation. Ketut arranged drivers for us when we wanted to take longer trips to the ricefields/temples etc., and was always easy to get ahold of if we needed anything.
I've been thrilled to spend 4 days in Kutut house. Right in the middle of rice fields, with the sunrise every morning, what more can you expect ! Surroundings are typical Ubud scenery and the farmers in the neighbourhood seem coming from an another time ...
No luxury, no untasty furnishing, just a nice and cosy place. For whom wishing to stay in the heart of Ubud ....forget it !
Keep this place as hidden as possible to preserve the simpleness of Bali.

About the Host, Andréa
Hi my name is Andréa.
Ketut is the owner of the Ubud Rice field view house, he is a Balinese friend who has little knowledge (next to none) about internet, hence makes it hard for him to advertise outside Ubud, so volunteered to help him out as this is something I have done for the past 10 years, running my holiday letting agency in Barcelona.
I simply take care of reservations, and once you arrive to Ubud you are in great care of very capable and friendly host Ketut.
Ketut has worked on cruise ships for many years and has vast experience in customer service.
He is renting out his place for those looking to disconnect, to get their creative flow running, a place for lovers of Nature and want to be close to it.
So far no one has been disapointed.
