  • John was great! I stayed with my young daughter from February 5th until February 12 in his really charming apartment. We didn´t get to meet him but everything was easy with him: our first flight was cancelled because of the weather, we arrived 7 hours later, and yet in 15 minutes we had the keys. We asked for a Microwave, and there it was, new and shiny. Hairdryer? there it was too! The last day we had a very late flight back home, and he had no problem with our leaving all our things there. and use the apartment until the last minute. The apartment is perfect, perfectly located, nice, clean. We didn´t care much about the construction work nearby, it was a little noisy but we could sleep very well anyway. The neighborhood is perfect, we felt very safe, and had a LOT of fun!! Thank you John for making everything so easy, and sorry for writing this review so late ;)

  • We really enjoyed staying at John's apartment while in New York. It was close to the subway, lots of places to eat out & it was clean & well looked after. Perfect for our NY stay! John was easy to reach & very organised. I would recommend his place to my family & friends.

  • Great experience. This was our first time using AirBnB and John made everything easy, including picking up the keys. This apartment is in one of my favorite neighborhoods in New York. Extremely close to the subway, and right in the middle of some of the best restaurants and nightlife. As cold as it was outside, the apartment was well heated and warm inside. There is an air conditioner for when it gets hot outside too. The best part of AirBnB is being able to really choose your location, and this place is in one of the best!

  • John apartment was great, we never got to meet him, but he handled the delivery of the apartment in a very easy way. It was our honey moon, so he let us a flower bouquet with a note as a detail. I really recommend the location of the apartment, is amazing, you really get to live a NYC experience. The apartment was in very good conditions, with towels and with everything we needed, the bed is very comfy too. It was our first Airbnb experience, and he was very understanding with all our doubts.

  • John is amazing. We arrived early and just wanted to drop our bags off and not only did John greet is but he took us on a quick tour of the neighbourhood! The flat is perfect for two and is so close to great bars and nightlife as well as only being a very short walk to the subway. There was some construction going on next door but this didn't bother us at all. I would definitely recommend staying here!

  • From the key pickup to the cleanliness and ammenities of the flat, everything went terrible except for the Airbnb support.
The doorman from the pickup place (way too far from the flat) refused to give me the keys until I finally had someone on the phone shouting at him. Quite a start.
Arriving at the place, we discovered the huge cleanliness issue. The trashcan was still full, bed linen and bath towels were really dirty, with spots everywhere and a bad smell.
The bedroom window didn't have anything to cover it, not even a curtain (and the other window's curtain was too small to cover it correctly).
The flat is just next to a massive construction site which starts really early in the morning and which was only mentioned the day before our arrival. With the flat's Strict cancellation policy, we didn't had any chance to reconsider our rental based on this new information.
John replied quickly to emails and tried to address the key pickup and the cleanliness issues by offering a discount and providing another package of linens. It turned out that the second one was even dirtier.
After we told John that we couldn't understand how someone would ever provide dirtier linen to customers already complaining about cleanliness, his tone became really aggressive and insulting. He insinuated that we were liars and expecting "to walk into the Four Seasons". At >150$/night, clean linen and curtains on the bedroom window seem like normal expectations to us, and apparently to Airbnb support too. We checked out halfway through our stay to go to another place and got our remaining nights and the cleaning fees refunded by the Airbnb support, who were really professional, helpful and responsive.
We already had very positive Airbnb experiences and were really disappointed by this one. We hope that this review helps improving John's flat for future renters.

  • This was a lovely little places, perfect for what we needed. It's just right for 2 people. The construction next door was pretty loud and started early 6 days of the week, only just tolerable. The location was great, close to subways and lots of lovely food spots.
    Recommend!

  • the apartament is located in a nice area from village, 2 blocks to subway, is not a new one but it's clean and confortable for a couple.

despite a contruction of a building the apartment is well insulated acoustically and not enough noise to bother.

we got all attention we need and we are totally satisfied
