Touk made booking and arriving at the villa easy, and greeted my friends and I on arrival. Both Touk and staff at the villa were warm, friendly, and made us feel at home.
The villa looks just like the photographs posted on Air BnB. It has a traditional and rustic feel, whilst also being very comfortable. I traveled with three friends and we had a blast staying here. It is located a couple of minutes from the main streets in Seminyak. There are many amazing places to eat very close to the Villa and the majority of them will deliver food to you. The shopping in this area is also great. If you feel like partying, you can catch a cheap taxi to Kuta or to any of the nightclubs in Seminyak, like Potato Head.
What a great place to stay. Touk welcomed us on arrival and was very helpful throughout the week with any queries. Jumi was fantastic houseperson and wonderful cook. Highly recommend as place to stay, close to shopping and short trip to beach area. Whole family loved it.
Wow!! What an amazing host, villa and location. We travelled early in November, 6 guests ranging in age from 23 to 64. We had a wonderful time and the villa was perfect for our stay. Touk was an amazing host, helping with anything we needed and helped organise transport for days out. The villa itself was spacious and located off a quiet street in seminyak. Bali deli is only a few hundred metres away and perfect for snacks and breakfast things. There are 5 big bedrooms, spacious sitting areas and a lovely pool. The housekeeper was wonderful and very attentive. One of the evenings, she cooked for us. My husband has said it was one of the nicest meals he has ever had. It was a truly wonderful home cooked meal and added to the brilliant time we had. I would highly recommend this villa and also the host Touk. I hope we will be back soon :)
Our family of 10 had a lovely stay at the Villa. The accommodation was perfect. The air-conditioning in every room much appreciated. The pool was great and kept the children occupied. Jumi the housekeeper was amazing and couldn't have been more accommodating. Definitely worth asking if she will cook a meal!
HI Touk! Touk definitely went above and beyond to ensure we felt comfortable with our stay. She even helped me get a cake for my sister who arrived to the property earlier than I did. We stayed at this property as a group of 8 using all the rooms. The two rooms off the side required going up a flight of steeper stairs. The rest of the rooms were easily accessible and right off the pool. Two of the bedrooms had its own bathroom which was very lovely and there is an additional two bathrooms next to the living room. We pretty much used the dining room area and tables/chairs next to the pools the whole time. Tips: 1. Bring money ($40 ? / person) for the Visa purchase on arrival to the airport (or purchase your visa prior to arriving to Bali) and have extra money ($20 ? / person) at departure for airport service fee. 2. The villa included airport pick up and drop off which was very very convenient. 3. The housekeeper and overall maintainer of the property was AMAZING! If you are staying at this property, our group highly suggest hiring her to cook meals (usually $3-$5 USD TOTAL per person per meal). The pool was also kept very clean and cleaned every other day. 4. Bali Deli - the closest mini-mart was about a 5-7 minute walk to the unit with an ATM next door. SUPER CONVENIENT. 5. The villa was off of the main street which is convenient as it means less cars/scooters driving through. Scooter and traffic is a bit hectic! 6. Tuck your mosquito nets in! There are a lot of mosquito in Bali and they love foreigner blood! When the net is tucked in, we were protected. When hanging out, the fans helped to keep the mosquito away. 7. Use "BLUE BIRD TAXI GROUP" to ensure you don't get ripped off for your cab fees. The taxi ride is about RP (phone number hidden) to Potato Head (popular Beach club). There is a minimum of RP 30,000 when calling them but its much more convenient and less stressful than bargaining. The number is (phone number hidden). We were able to hire a driver for RP 400,000 for about 8-hours for one car which was very convenient when traveling to the further places. We took 2 cars for 8 people and was very happy with our driver. Contact him for your travels! His English was great and he was able to organize our trips with us while suggesting restaurants where we can stop for lunch (TripAdvisor the restaurants to ensure that is what you would want to eat; we had a few pickier eaters so they didn't always liked the recommendation of restaurants). Ryan (Tour Manager)- (phone number hidden) or (phone number hidden) (I can't recall which number was Whatsapp accessible so save both). His email is: (email hidden) 9. The area of the beach that was near us that was very nice is right by Ku Da Ta in...
Hi MaryAnn! Thanks for the thorough review! I think they cut you short! Would have liked to have read the rest of it.
You were great guests. Hope to see you again in the future.
*For other guests, the VOA (visa on arrival) is US$35 - payable in other currencies. The exit tax is Rp200,000 - only payable in local currency/Rupiah.
Unfortunately the start was not great on recent booking. No driver as promised to pick us up from the airport so we got a cab there to find no one at the villa. We waited round an hour out front trying to contact someone and luckily a very kind neighbour offered us a drink and contacted the owner. This might be something to clarify - you are not dealing with the owner of the place, but rather an agent. As for the villa, it is comfortable but the pics give the impression it is bigger than it actually is and it is a little more dated. There are two large bedrooms with ensuites, a third bungalow, then two upstairs up some steep stairs that have no bathroom or window. For the positives - the pool is nice, the housekeeper Jumianti couldn't have been more helpful and to be fair, Touk ( the agent ) did arrange some transport for us as a 'make-good' for the airport messup at the start of the trip. We did have to make arrangements 2 and 3 times though to ensure that we got what we needed. If you are after basic accom a little off the beaten path in Seminyak ( its a short walk to the main drag ) then this place is fine.
This response is more for prospective guests (though, again, I am very sorry Keith and thank you very much for mentioning some positives). It was a very unfortunate, but isolated incident, that the driver did not find Keith and his friends. The reason no one was at the villa is because the housekeeper, Jumiati, was waiting for the driver to let her know when they were on their way. I called Keith as soon as I received his message and had someone else go to meet them as I was still far away. Since Keith and his friends went out right after checking in I didn't make it in time to meet them myself. I understand the apprehension in trusting that we'd send drivers for them subsequently, but it was not necessary that they had to make arrangements 2 & 3 times. But I know it was for their own peace of mind. I also sent a driver to pick up their friend - the last guest to arrive. He arrived late while Keith and friends were to be out so I met the driver beforehand to give him a key to the villa (it was too late at night for me to go myself as I have a 7-month-old). All the transport was at no charge.
As for the villa, it is written in the description: Two master bedrooms each with en-suite bathrooms, Two bedrooms upstairs in the Javanese joglo, one bungalow bedroom, two separate bathrooms. The upstairs bedrooms are very rustic (being formed from an old Javanese house), but that's part of the villa's authenticity. They do, in fact, have windows though. The property is 500m2/more than 5300ft2.
The person who owns this place is actually a (very busy) friend. Since I'm a long time host on Airbnb, having begun with my own house, he prefers that I handle his listings on this site.
