  • Katherine was a perfect host and the kids and animals were perfect housemates. The couch sleeping heaven couldn't have been a better spot for my brother and I to rest and clean up during SXSW. We had a nice separate area of the house that gave us privacy and we were able to get into after hours without disturbing anyone. The sleeping arrangements we're comfy and we always woke up to a nice spread of breakfast items. The best part was Katherine, she was very welcoming and made us feel at home. I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable spot close to downtown.

  • Our stay in Austin was great, thanks to Katherine and her hospitality. We were able to come back every night and feel comfortable in our room, get a good night of sleep and wake up to coffee and breakfast.

The place is in a beautiful neighbourhood, the bus picked us up in the next street and we were downtown in under 10 minutes. Otherwise we could just walk it, it's a 20-30 minutes walk from downtown and the path by the canal is pretty and peaceful.

I would recommend Katherine's place and hospitality to anyone who wants to enjoy SXSW at the most or simply have a great stay in the beautiful city of Austin.

I would also recommend Luke's Inside Out just beside Gibson on Lamar, a 2 minutes walk from Katherine's place. Great baby ribs and coleslaw.

  • My first trip to Austin for ACL was fabulous. Katherine was a gracious hostess and went above and beyond what I expected for my stay. Her home was welcoming and warm, felt like I was "at home" in Austin. Eddie and Kiki were cute, fuzzy companions as well. Wasn't expecting more than a bed to sleep in, but Katherine provided breakfast, lifts in her car when the rains came pouring down, and great suggestions to get the best experience in Austin. Her home is situated in a nice neighborhood. Easy to get downtown with a bus stop just around the corner. Expect me back for ACL 2014! :-)

  • It was a great place to stay for our trip to SXSW! Katherine was a great host. She provided breakfast, towels and our den/office turned room was perfect for our group of three. Katherine knows a lot about Austin and her advice was great. The location was so close to the river and the bus access was just down the block. I'd definitely stay with her again!

  • I think this house is Great! Staying there, I was hooked on living Austin. Katherine is so kind and has an open mind. I would like to stay agin.

미국식 가정집을 있는 그대로 느껴보고 싶다면 참 좋은 장소. 캐서린은 참 친절하고, 이것 저것 많이 알려줍니다. 다만 늦은 밤 집에 출입하는 것은 주의하세요. ^^.

I've lived in Austin for over 20 years, and I have a lot of local knowledge that I enjoy sharing with guests! I have covered community issues as a journalist for the Austin Chronicle, and worked at the City of Austin. As a writer, I have reviewed local restaurants and covered local issues and politics and environmental topics. I love live music, and getting out into nature, and I attend our Austin City Limits and SXSW festivals, I have two children, 19 and 14, who may also be around and serve as co-hosts.
