The English Country is a lovely one bedroom bungalow perfect for one or two person. It is surrounded by flowers and the jungle, and views of the ocean from the terrace. Pefect little getaway with beautiful grounds, pool and views, 5 minutes to town.
Below is some more information on my property and please take a look at my web page to see more pictures of the views, gardens, pool and inside the bungalows. Let me know if you want to book it and if you have any questions. You have the whole property to yourselves, which is 2 1/2 acres of gardens, and views of the world.
It is a short 3 minute walk to the beach thru Villa Amor's stairs and than another few minutes into the center of town along the beach road....you can also go along the other road and it is a 6 to 8 minute walk along the road as well into town, if you don't want to use the stairs.
The English Country Bungalow is a lovely one bedroom bungalow with a Matrimonal size bed with a mosquito net overhead. There is a dining area, a large built in couch (large enough for one person to sleep on) and a spacious bathroom with a rock waterfall that flows into the tub. It also has a satellite T.V., and DVD player.(we have a selection of movies to choose from). It has a kitchen which includes a mediumsize fridge, toaster oven, two burner gas stove , coffee maker, blender (for those margaritas) and pots and pans, dishes and everything else you need for cooking your meals if you so choose. I have just added a new terrace for the English Country which is a great place to go and have your morning coffee and has a lovely view of the ocean and gardens. The English Country also has A/C.

There are also lawn chairs and umbrellas on the grass platform, next to the pool to relax on and look at the sea and the town of Sayulita...we also have a barbeque that is next to the pool for those nights you might want to have a barbeque outside and enjoy the pool and the warm nights.
It is a five to eight minute walk to town and the local beaches...and if you want privacy you can walk back towards the jungle from my place to Playa de los Muerto's a great beach for swimming, or a 10 minute walk to Carricitos which is a totally incredible place to spend the day....big pools in the rocks to swim in and if you want to sun bathe it is a totally hidden and secluded beach. It is the beach that we always swim at, and we have lived here for a long time....If you do not like to walk or exercise I suggest that you rent a car or a golf cart.
If you are into surfing Sayulita is great for beginners and intermediate... but there are lots of great surf spots near by that we can arrange for you to go for all levels of surfing. There are great Jungle walks and you can go on and you can rent bikes as well. There are also an arrange of jungle tours for those adventurers.
Sayulita now has many more new restaurants to choose from, your local little taco stands to Argentinian food, Chinese food, Italian food, sushi bar, Vegetarian restaurant and Don Pedro's which is a five star restaurant for that night when you want to take your partner out to eat something special...it is a very beautiful restaurant on the ocean under a large palapa and very romantic. You can see our "Buddha Spa" which is located at the back of our Buddha Gallery overlooking the sea as well. You can view both of our businesses on (website hidden), under "Buddha Bar and Grill" and "Buddha Gallery and Spa".

Interaction with Guests
I personally greet all my guests and make sure they get all set up in their bungalows. My house is situated on the property on the top platform so I am always available. My house manager Santiago lives at the bottom of the property and makes sure everything is working smoothly.
I love the south side of town as we get the amazing sunrise and moonrise which is so beautiful. Most of the villas on this side of town are all large pieces of property which affords lots of privacy as there are no houses near by so there are no noise issues from other neighbors or from my guests themselves.
I hope my guests enjoy Sayulita as much as I have and continue to every day. There are incredible jungle walks right out the door from Casa Kukana that go for miles on jungle roads to beautiful isolated beaches with no one there. If you like to run, hike, bike this is the place to be.
Sayulita also has many classes in Yoga, Pilates, dance, etc. for those who like to continue their daily exercise routine. Everything is within walking distance, which is what everyone loves about Sayulita.
I will be happy to set you up with anything you would like to do....horseback riding, sailing, SUP, surfing, kayaking, private yoga classes, or a private chef to cook your meals.
You can rent a golf cart to get around town, if you don't like to walk, or rent a car if you want to take a day trip to another pueblo or surfing to other beaches. It is very easy to walk everywhere, so most of my guests just get around that way. You can take a taxi to Punta Mita for the day, where they have beautiful blue caribbean waters and a great place for beginners to learn how to surf.
I always recommend to my guests that they have a taxi meet them at the airport. I arrange that for them and it makes your arrival stress free. The taxi stops on the way at the large Mega store so you can get supplies for your stay, than brings you directly to Casa Kukana and help you with your things.
I have a large parking area below where you can part your car of golf cart.
Other Things to Note
Sayulita is a very eclectic Bohemian town, with something for everyone. Great restaurants from 5 star to your local taco stand. You can eat somewhere different every night, there are so many to choose from.
I want my guests to enjoy themselves and have fun. After all this is paradise with all the great activities to experience.
I do allow small dogs that are well behaved.
No smoking in the bungalows, but you are welcome to smoke outside on the terrace and in the yard.
Suzanne and her family were the best hosts my friend and I could have ever asked for. The house was one of the most beautiful estates we have ever stayed in. The pool and view were absolutely breathtaking overlooking all of Sayulita. They have friendly staff on the property who came to clean the room every day. The air conditioning was ice cold and we had fresh drinking water and a full kitchen. It was the perfect place to stay. The house itself is a piece of art. It is perfect for a wedding, vacation or retreat. It's located on the top of a gorgeous plush mountain among the jungle and walking distance to everything. Suzanne and her family were friendly, communicative, thoughtful and caring. Our stay would not have been complete without them. I am so thankful we found Casa Kukana and highly recommend anyone to stay here. You will be blown away in amazement. I will definitely be back for a visit in the future.
Casa Kukana had everything we needed and the property was amazing. My wife and I really enjoyed lounging by the pool and the amazing view of Sayulita. Santiago (house manager) was very friendly and helpful. We rented a golf cart which made our trip much more enjoyable. Thank you again for sharing Casa Kukana with us!
Our stay at Casa Kukana was amazing. It's about a 10 min walk to town which is not too far. The hardest part is walking up the stairs since casa Kukana sits on top of a hill. That's ok because you will love the view. The room has Fridge, and A/C which is much needed because of the heat and humidity. The property has a beautiful garden a and nice little pool. Suzanne, the owner was amazing. She is so nice and was willing to accommodate us as best she could. She has a couple that works on the property as well, who are also very nice and can help. Visit Playa Los Muertos. It such a nice, more secluded beach, and you have to walk through a cemetery to get there. Make sure to visit El camaron on Friday night in town. It's a party and everyone from town is there. Go fishing, and spend lots of time at the beach, the water is really really warm. If you're hungry go visit David and Martin at Pancho's tell them Mitch and J-Lo sent you. They're friends of ours now. I absolutely loved my stay and would definitely go back next summer.
My daughter and I had an amazing stay at Casa Kukana! This was our first trip to Mexico and a first time user of airbnd. We arrived in the late afternoon, Suzanne warmly greeted us and showed us to the English Country house. The grounds were stunning and our house was charming and looked exactly like the photos. We would definitely return to Sayulita and would stay at Casa Kukana again!!
We stayed at Casa Kukana last week. The grounds were beautiful and the pool was lovely. Our room is what we expected and we did not have any trouble with the hot water. The home is on a cliff and it is about a 5-7 walk to the beach and into town. However, the staircase is substantial. We exercise daily and are in our late twenties and on some days it was a challenge after doing it a few times. The city itself is very cheap to eat and drink. We love Sayulita and felt very safe.
Yes the walk can be a challenge on certain days, but everyone at the end of their stay love it. It is a great walk into town, so fast, but of course coming back is always harder, especially after eating and drinking. Stairs will keep you young!!
Hope to see you again soon.
We loved Casa Kukana! The room was comfy, the grounds were beautiful, and the pool was refreshing. It was nice knowing we had somewhere private to relax in the sunshine away from the beach! If we return to Sayulita (which we are seriously considering) we would definitely stay at Casa Kukana again!
We had a wonderful time at Casa Kukana in the English Country apartment. The space is like a mother-in-law studio in the lower level of Suzanne's gorgeous home. It was clean, quiet, and there was maid service, which is always nice when you're on vacation! The view from the pool is absolutely gorgeous. We did not see much of Suzanne or anyone else from the house for the duration of our stay, so sometimes it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves! There was only one hiccup the entire time we were there and that was the water going out twice so we couldn't shower, flush, etc. However, the issue was solved promptly. Would recommend staying here to anyone looking for a relaxing time in a gorgeous space.
Hi Riley: Yes you did have the place to yourselves, but that's a good thing. I was so busy working that I didn't get a chance to see you again. We kept missing each other. I am so glad that you enjoyed yourself and sorry about the water issue...Mexico is a challenge sometimes. Hope to see you again at Casa Kukana.
Thank you, Suzanne

About the Host, Suzanne
I have the most amazing piece of property here in Sayulita...2 1/2 acres of gardens, lush grass and a infinity pool with views of the ocean and coastline. You will love it. I bought this property 28 years ago when Sayulita was just a little fishing village and it has now turned into the most amazing town with great restaurants, shops and many things to do, surfing, kayaking, paddle boarding, horseback riding, zip lining, and many more adventure. Perfect place for families, adventurous and active people who love the outdoors.
