Where do I start on this experience...
We have travelled/stayed in so many places and nothing compares to Yamina's. I truly cannot rave about her place more. She was so welcoming and made us feel at home. Upon arrival we received mint tea which was so nice! Then we later had a complimentary dinner and what amazing food! Just loved it! You MUST have a dinner there or 2, we made sure to book dinner after we had tried all her delicious food. It was the BEST Morrocan food we had the whole trip. And brekky on the terrace was gorgeous. :) We were lucky enough to join her at a party and met some lovely people both there and at the riad. We had a ball! Thankyou for the honour Yamina. We will treasure this beautiful short break away. So glad we came here and will be back. And definitely take the trip to your home in the mountains Moha.
We guarantee you will Love her and her home and wont want to leave. Its pure paradise and a great retreat after a hot day.
Thank you Yamina, Moha, Fatima and Naima. (Sorry if I mispelt your names). You were all Amazing! :)
Just a few tips for fellow travellers and first timers to Marrakech.
1. Book a pick up transfer through Yamina. We did and Im so glad, as the taxis wont take you all the way and you'll need to find the Riad on your own or end up paying a guide a ridiculous price to show you anyway. We noticed this many times with tourists staying at others Riads near us, who may have thought they could do it on their own or transport wasn't offered. Who knows...? But they looked very tired, hot and bothered and stressed. You dont want to start your trip this way. Take the transfer.
2. Don't get advice from anyone especially on the streets, as they will charge you. And don't listen if they say your going the wrong way as its just another way of getting their advice to help you out then charge you. And don't believe them when they say there is a special, today is the last day for leather sales. This will cost you more than you want as they will lure you easily.
3. Be discreet if you want to take pics of the snakes or entertainment or be prepared to pay for it.
See you again soon
Best wishes Tania and Claire.x
Highly recommended. The Riad is beautiful- simple and elegant and the staff are all lovely. Very peaceful and quiet. Brekkie was great and we also had a meal here, probably the most authentic thing we had to eat during our trip to Marrakech, delicious. Would definitely stay here again.
First of all: Big hugs to Yamina! We count the days till the next visit.
You enter Riad Yamina and you'll forget your world at home...(work, stress etc.)
We have been several times in Marrakech and we really have to say that this was the nicest Riad we have ever been.
The location is great - short walking distance to the Jmna el Fna. The Riad itself is perfectly calm, decorated with good taste, love and fantastic details. The small pool and the trees are really special :-)
The owner Yamina is always at the Riad, welcoming guests and makes you feel part of the family. The staff (very good English!) is attentive and extremely nice.
As for the rest - I think the pictures speak for themselves ;)
We will come again, more than once, that's for sure!
What a great experience! The riad was so wonderful and I'd recommend it to anyone traveling to Marrakech! Yamina was soo awesome, helpful, friendly, fun and an all around lovely person. She really made our stay memorable. The rest of the staff were also super friendly and helpful. Everyone made us feel so welcome, we were sad to leave! The breakfasts were amazing and if you can't stay here, book dinner here! It was delicious, everything was fresh and homemade. They were able to accomodate both my meat esting husband and my vegetarian self. Our room was clean, quiet, and tastefully decorated. It really was just perfect! Can't wait to visit again!
PICK THIS ONE! We can't speak highly enough about our stay in Yamina's beautiful and authentic Riad. It was genuinely the best part of our experience in Marrakech and we are planning to return to stay with Yamina as soon as we can.
The riad is stunning. It has an almost magical authenticity when so many other roads look like they verge on the pastiche. The location is perfect - right in the action of the Medina but yet it is so peaceful inside. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were impeccable. The breakfasts were also lovely which is where so many other riads earned negative reviews.
What was most enjoyed however were the attentive staff and the wonderful Yamina herself. Her warmth and hospitality were amazing, she described the place as 'her house' rather than 'her business', and we were treated like old friends from the minute we stepped through the door. Throughout our stay Yamina was more than happy to arrange trips for us and help plan our days. Twice we ate in the riad and the food was fantastic (and good value). We recommended to some friends who were not staying in the riad to book in just for dinner as it was better than what we had eaten anywhere else.
We really can't recommend this place highly enough. We were reluctant to leave but we know that we will definitely return to Marrakech if only to stay in riad Yamina again.
Beautiful and clean riad just moments away from all of the hustle and bustle of the main square.
We were greeted by Moha (with some delicious mint tea!), who was incredibly helpful and attentive; he gave us a map and marked on it and went through some places of interest, and gave us some useful advice for handling ourselves in marrakesh.
The room was lovely; very clean with fresh towels everyday. Breakfast was delicious and slightly different every day (we were there 3days) which was great.
We would definitely recommend staying here!
