I Birdbox Hjellaakeren finner du en komfortabel dobbeltseng på 150 x 200 cm, en praktisk kjøkkenkrok med vannkoker, utslagsvask og kjøleskap, samt en hyggelig sittegruppe med to stoler og et bord. Ved ankomst står en 5 liters kanne med vann (også drikkbart), en vannflaske per gjest og en flaske lokalprodusert alkoholfri drikkevare klart til deg.
Hytta er også utstyrt med et moderne forbrenningstoalett like utenfor og en koselig uteplass.
Gjestene må selv ta med ønsket mat og drikke for oppholdet. For en ekstra autentisk opplevelse kan vi varmt anbefale å kjøpe med deg mat fra en av de lokale restaurantene eller det koselige Minibakeriet på Nordfjordeid. Vennligst merk at eneste måten å lage varm mat i birdboxen, er ved å bruke kokende vann fra vannkokeren.
Det er ikke innlagt vann på stedet på grunn av de naturlige omgivelsene, og det er derfor ingen dusjmuligheter tilgjengelig.
Birdboxen ligger i vakre, naturlige omgivelser, og adkomsten krever en kort gåtur på ca. 50 meter i variert terreng, inkludert trapper. Vi anbefaler å pakke lett og bruke en bag eller ryggsekk, da koffert og trillebag ikke egner seg for stien.

Inside Birdbox Hjellaakeren, you’ll find a comfortable double bed (150 x 200 cm), a practical kitchenette with a kettle, mini fridge, and a simple basin for washing hands or face. The basin is not connected to running water, but a 5-liter jug of fresh (also drinkable) water is provided for this purpose. You’ll also find a cozy sitting area with two chairs and a small table.
The cabin has a modern incineration toilet just outside and a charming outdoor space. Upon arrival, you’ll also be greeted with one bottle of drinking water per guest and a locally produced non-alcoholic beverage.
Guests must bring their own food and drinks for the stay. For a more authentic local experience, we warmly recommend picking up a meal from one of the nearby restaurants or the cozy Minibakeriet in Nordfjordeid before arrival.
Please note: There is no running water at the cabin due to its natural surroundings, and therefore no shower facilities are available.
The only option for preparing hot meals is by boiling water in the kettle.
The Birdbox is nestled in beautiful natural surroundings, and access requires a short walk of approximately 50 meters through varied terrain, including stairs. We recommend packing light and using a backpack or soft bag, as suitcases and wheeled luggage are not suitable for the path.
🚨 Due to the lack of running water in the area, the use of camping stoves or any open flames is strictly prohibited. We kindly ask all guests to respect this rule for the safety of both themselves and the environment.

Guests have full access to Birdbox Hjellaakeren and the beautiful natural surroundings. For those who wish to explore further, we warmly recommend both short and longer hikes in the area – offering stunning views and unforgettable nature experiences.
Other things to note
IMPORTANT: Please note that there is no shower or running water at Birdbox Hjellaakeren.
However, we have a partnership with Nordfjord Hotel, located a 12-minute drive away at Nordfjordeid. Our guests receive a 50% discount on access to the hotel’s spa facilities, which include showers, a pool, and a sauna.
This is an optional external offer and not included in your Birdbox stay.
To receive the discount, present your valid booking confirmation for Birdbox Hjellaakeren upon arrival at the hotel.
The spa is usually open from 07:00 to 20:00 every day. Please note that hours may vary on public holidays.
