I have an extremely busy work schedule and am not home very often. My guests will have most of this beautiful space to themselves.
I love the energy and festive vibe of the neighborhood. I also love the convenience to Convention Center, Downtown, Bayshore Blvd, Interstate 275 and Leroy Selmon Crosstown Expressway.
Absolutely Awesome Location!! Walk Anywhere and Everywhere. Bus routes are 1.5 to 4.5 blocks away.
I stayed at Michelle's lovely house while visiting a conference in Tampa. There's a bus that goes from the airport super close to Michelle's house. The house is within walking distance of the conference centre and many other important places... it's an ideal location and there's a bus that goes there directly from a couple of blocks from the door. It's easy to get to downtown (where the art gallery/ photographic gallery & performance centre are as well as the conference centre) and the historic Ybor district (pronounced ebor with the e sound the y has in yvonne). Michelle's house is on a green leafy quiet street but just a couple of blocks away from a happening area (SoHo - or South Howard) with lots of restaurants (including take outs & all types of affordable food), shops, supermarkets (normal Winn Dixie as well as Greenwise an organic/allergy one), a 24 hour chemist/ pharmacy and lots of lively/ friendly bars/ pubs etc some with the most enormous margarita's I've ever seen ...but then quiet again at the house. Also very close is the quiet Hyde Park Village which has a lot of good shops and is a pleasant place to wander, especially at their market once a month on a Sunday, all organic/ home made kind of stuff. The house is a few blocks from the sea/ river and has a very long boulevard running by the side of it which has plenty of joggers, people biking (a lot of people bike in Tampa and Michelle has a bike) and even working out on the bits of gym kit along the boulevard. You also get to see the pelicans diving as you walk along (in my case on my way to the conference centre) and even manatees and dolphins.
The house is on one level and is spacious, neat, clean and tidy with wooden floors, a large bedroom, a pool (wowee... jets & a cleaning thing inside it...) a large deck and a sweet private garden. Lovely smell of scented flowers in the garden and sounds of exotic birds - it really felt like a treat. There's everything you need in the house and more, Michelle put a huge basket of things I could use like soap, shampoo etc.. as well as a basket of towels. There's aircon, fans, a large fridge freezer and even a water cooler. You will not get uncomfortable in any heat here (did I mention the pool????). A really great part of staying in this house is meeting Michelle the owner, she's really special and I'm so glad I met her.
So great I've booked for 8 nights more! Great house, great person, great pool, great neighbourhood, great city, great weather.....
