a very nice apartment in Gemayzee area... the fancy region of Beirut
60m2 including a bedroom (2 beds) , bathroom (bathtub), kitchen (fridge and microwave) and a nice furnished living (TV).
the neighborhood is amazing lots of pub, restaurants and shops in the area. it good to mention that the night life in gemayzee is amazing.
one indoor parking
Appartement confortable et agréable un peu en retrait de la route, idéal dans ce quartier animé et festif.
Excellent rapport qualité-prix.
As Americans living between Beirut & the US, my wife & I really enjoyed our stay at Anna's apartment in Gemayzee. We were used to staying in Mansourieh (upper/middle class Beirut suburbs) and we enjoyed the week in Gemayzee. The apartment is walking distance to tons of restaurants, bars, pubs, cafes, and shops--even downtown. It's one of the hippest places to be in Beirut and the apartment itself is perfect for a solo traveler or couple. The bathroom is modern and the bedroom is clean & simple. There was a little bit of construction noise, but it's Beirut--it's always noisy and everyplace will have some noise. Anna was very helpful in meeting our needs, showing us the apartment, and arranging someone to meet us there when we checked in. I would highly recommend this place and look forward to possibly staying there again!
The reservation was canceled 29 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
I had a great stay at Anna's place. Its nicer and brighter then in the pictures. Some great cafes, bars and little design shops an easy walk from the apartment. This area is like the trendy arty area of Beirut and if you have a good look there are some gems in this neightbourhood.
I felt very safe and the conciege of the building is a very helpful man. All in all for the price I couldnt have wanted more.
The Lebanese are some of the nicest, helpful and friendliest people I've experienced.
On recommande !
It's was an ok stay, location was decent, but really noisy during the day.
Apartment had a few issues (AC leaking from the ceiling) and when the issues were resolved, it wasn't cleaned; as the host promised to get it sorted.
Was an inconvenience for us, but we made the best out of it.
With a bit of TLC, I think this can be a brilliant place for a sort stay.
Nice clean small apartment right near mar mikhail and gemmayze. Easy check in, clean apartment n sparsely furnished. Great stay n will stay again :)...excellent location for four young people.
We were four people, so think about the shower situation as its a glass wall with no privacy, therefore the bedroom is unusable when someone is showering.
We really enjoyed our stay at Hanaa’s apt, which contributed to the excellent vacations spent in Beirut.
The apartment is very well located: central, very close to number of pubs and restaurants (that area is very trendy), easy access to the highway for longer trips… At the same time, being on the 4th floor of a modern building, it is quieter than the usual Beirut apartment. (However there were some noisy construction works in the neighbouring building when we stayed there, so a bit annoying during weekday mornings, hopefully these are or will be over soon).
The apartment itself is very nice. Simple, modern, functional and nice: a bedroom with two large single beds that can be brought next to each other for couples or separated for friends. Living room w. a sofa a table and 2 chairs. Good air-conditioning, an automatic backup generator for electricity shortages, and an underground parking space, all contributed to making it a very convenient place. Tiny but well equipped kitchen with microwave, fridge + freezer, heating plate (that we never used, plenty of options to eat outside close by).
It was perfectly clean and tidy.
I didn't get to meet Hanaa but the apartment good and suited my needs perfectly. Nice and clean with all the small necessities. The bath/shower is a bit unusual but it does the trick. Fantastic location very close to everything and in a nice area. The only drawback was the music from the bar downstairs and from the construction in the opposite building. If you're just looking for a good base and plan to head out a lot, it's perfect, however, maybe not the best place if you're looking for a quiet vacation.
Hanaa did not ensure that we had proper electricity during our stay, even though we reserved the apartment months in advance. In Beirut it is standard for homes to have a backup generator as the electricity goes out daily.
She told us she paid for a backup generator during our stay (which is about $50-75 monthly) but the flat's electricity from the first night we were arrived was intermittent. This means the air conditioner went out several times throughout the night and day. This was particularly maddening when we were trying to shower, dress, and put on makeup in the dark and heat for the wedding we were in Beirut to attend.
At one point we did not have electricity from 6-almost midnight -- no way to shower, or do anything in the apartment during that time. I had an early flight the next morning and could not even charge my phone to set the alarm. Meanwhile, the rest of the building had electricity, including the two bars beneath us. Hanaa eventually did come out to try to fix the outages, but only after repeated complaints but, sure enough, by the next morning, the power had gone out again. She claims it only happened one time, but if there were room on here to post my phone calls and texts, one could see that we were in touch about the electricity since the beginning of our stay.
Ultimately, we paid $420 for a few nights in a one bedroom apt and the power was out for at least half of our stay. When we asked Hanaa how she'd like to handle this she replied that there was nothing she could do. We weren't offered even a partial refund.
The apartment is nice and looks like it does in the photographs and the location is great. But with no power, I'm not sure what the point of renting a room is.
